Rain…
The drops on the pavement
The tears on your cheek
Are all the same
The grey clouds in the skies
The darkness in your eyes
Are all for pain
Love…
A simple word of commitment
A simple word of hatred
A kiss then a song
But, alas, in vain
I cannot fathom the meaning of it
First a laugh then a tear
And then you have a broken heart
Now, the meaning of deception has been settled for me
Life…
A road of discovery
Discovery of oneself
A way to uncover the truth of your being
The being that will go through suffering
Through happiness and through sadness
Through love and through hatred
Through wars and through wars
Through tears and through fears
Through darkness and through light
But, alas, you’re blind
Too blind to be enlightened
You want to rise up and cry
A cry of pain
A cry of love
A cry of hope
A cry for salvation
Rescue the ones who died
Rescue the ones who’ll die one more time
A death of a lover
And, then, a death of a warrior
A cure for a broken heart
And a cure for a wounded heart
A bullet of death that shot right through to wound an already broken heart
But in vain to be saved again
Too late for a cure
Too late for salvation
Two deaths are enough to kill the soul
But…
He will come back from the dead
He will rise up again
He will do it this time
He will fight with a thousand tears for a thousand miles
He will not give up
Because he knows
He who submits will bleed
And he who battles will greet
The family that he found when he once thought he had nothing
Your loved ones await
A scream of victory and glory
For having conquered life
Conquered its sufferings
Conquered its deceptions
Conquered its deaths
And conquered the darkness it holds and blinds almost all

Subsistence
In the middle of a war-zone
Standing all alone
Looking all over the place to find
Someone who would have your back
And hoping you won’t lose your track
Wishing for someone to hold your hand
To get you safely out of this land
Your eyes search for someone
For something
But, alas, you find nothing
Then, it hits you
You’re on your own
You’ll have your own back
You’ll fight your own fights
And, you’ll get through all of this
Safe and sound

So Many Questions
And why, is the question I keep asking
The murders, the hunger, and the coffins
A child calls out for a mother
Once, twice, but no answer
She’s gone, I’m afraid to tell him
Afraid of the blame, not his innocence
So many questions I have to ask
Why did it have to be ashes and blood?
Why not a word of kindness?
The child calls out again
I reach out to hold his hand
He looks up at the sky and
I try to make him understand
But…
Behind his watery eyes
Hope still ignites
Bright as a star
Alas, it had to be a fading light
So many questions I have to ask
Are we humans or not?
Aren't we all made of flesh and blood?
The child yells, “Mother!”
And runs without a mutter
Without a doubt…
A voice calls back to him
The kindness in which is unmistakable
I turn around and
My eyes discover the unpredictable
A mother calling for her child
Running through the ashes
Like a lion in the wild
Silently, a man walks amongst the debris
Breathing death into the air
And hides behind a tree
I scream, “No!”
And run towards the mother and her child
I hear the sound of death flow
I close my eyes and anticipate the pain
Nothing…
A cry rises from behind me, claiming bane
The mother’s silent
The child’s quiet
Death claimed me a while ago
I didn't even notice
And then,
Darkness…
So many questions I have to ask
Will it ever end?
How far will they go?
And to what extent?
Are they waiting for everything to end?
Or for us to submit and give our consent?

Our Words
They’ll see us marching
In one line
Hand in hand, demanding
Freedom and peace, they shan’t decline
Yes. I’m demanding
A human, I was born
Look at me, condescending
And I will seize your throne
On your knees, you say
Shoot me if you dare
Point your cowardly tool to my face
And I’ll give you a fiery grimace
Our words, they move mountains
They shatter steel armor and tanks
Our tears, they cry for the lifeless
Revive their souls and perhaps the humankind
Oh the calamity we have witnessed!
Things you cannot disguise
Oh what a sadness, what a demise
I scream
I scream enough to make those bullets burst
The ones you launch at me, out of blood thirst
But a little girl in a skirt
Cries from fear, it hurts
Shut us up, you shall try
Look into our eyes, they’re dry
Watch us now
Now we fight back
Trust me, it’s a vow
We shall bring you to your knees
You’ll be begging for our silence
Don’t kill us, you beseech
Alas, you think we’re without kindness
We are not murderers
We are people of words
We are not dictators
We are free as birds
Remember those words
Remember them well
Write them in your records
We are the ones you shall not quell

In The Darkness
We sit in the darkness
My head under your chin
You give me a caress
And I tremble from within
I can feel your heartbeat
Beating only for me, you say
I look up at you and entreat
A kiss to help me believe, and stay
I sit in the darkness wondering
Was it the look?
Was it the touch?
Or was it when you said, “I love you too much
To let you go because you are a nonesuch”
But…
Did you ever notice the pain in my eyes?
The pain, for leaving me behind, once
The pain, for making me cry, twice
It’s not so simple now
Is it, my love?
You left your mark on my heart
Like a fine piece of art
A masterpiece I can only pray to forget
I was in a phase of learning, my love, like a cadet
Preparing for what’s awaiting
A future in which I won’t get stuck debating
Should I look for another?
Or should I love him forever?
I sit in the darkness, smiling
In love, but still wondering
Why does it have to cause so much pain?
Why do I keep thinking it’s all in vain?
After all, it’s all coming down in flames
Oh Lord, what a shame
We sit in the darkness, gazing
Into each other’s eyes
And I notice the fire blazing
In your eyes, but I also see the lies
The devil in disguise
In this darkness, I’ll say goodbye
But give you one last kiss
With my eyes dry
I’ll be in a bliss
Away from your darkness
Searching for someone else’s touch
Thinking about someone else’s kiss
Farewell, my loving amiss
