What is your favorite Paranormal romance series?

I really enjoy Christine Feehan's Carpathian series! I haven't sifted through all of the books in the series yet. The only thing that irritates me about the series is that the males are a little too dominant for my taste...

message 2: by Eastofoz (new)

Eastofoz Well it used to be Ward's BDB but now I think it's Cole's IAD --though I'm quickly becoming a fan of Abé's Dràkon series.

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I love Feehan's Ghostwalkers and Lora Leigh's SEALs and EliteOPs series too.

I'm a HUGE fan of BDB, Darkyn, Midnight Breeds and Carpathians. Haven't started IAD yet.

I keep meaning to begin J.R. Ward's series. Everytime I get it from the library another book leads me astray, and I put J.R. Ward aside. (sigh)

That's blasphemy right there. ROFL

Dina (missdina) My absolute favorite is Nalini Singh's Psy-Changeling series. I just LOVE those books!

message 13: by Eastofoz (new)

Eastofoz Tsk, tsk Joy ;) You're missing out something big with Ward's BDB (lol!). But just think of what's waiting for ya when you start :D

Thats the problem with enjoying so many different genres. I have 367 book I want to read, and it so hard to catch up. LOL As soon as I read one book, I have 10 more I want to read. Otherwise, I probably would have read Ward a long time ago. :) I def. need to start reading faster so that I get to her. LOL

message 15: by Eastofoz (new)

Eastofoz I often feel the need to graft a few pairs of eyes to my head too so I could at least make a dent in the TBR pile (!) I know how you feel Joy :)

message 16: by Terri (new)

When it comes to books, I would love to have the time turner that Hermione possessed in Harry Potter. That way I would have enough time to read all of my books! :)

message 18: by new_user (new)

new_user My favorites. Hmm...

BDB by J.R. Ward
Darkyn by Lynn Viehl
Drakon by Shana Abé
Psy-Changeling by Nalini Singh

LOL, that's funny!

message 22: by Teryl (new)

Teryl Kenyon and Ward are probably my favorite right now.

message 23: by BK (new)

BK Blue (paradoxically) Kenyon and Ward for me as well. But I am behind in both. When you don't have a favorite genre, you get easily distracted.

Elvia (elvb) Joy wrote: "...I probably would have read Ward a long time ago. :) I def. need to start reading faster so that I get to him. LOL "

FYI - JR Ward is a woman. :)

I've never read any of the BDB books. I keep hearing so many good things and yet...
I read a short out of an anthology once and it bored me. I know I shouldn't compare shorts to the real novels but that's usually how I find new authors. lol

I'm a Kenyon fan!

message 29: by Julianna (new)

Julianna (authorjuliannad) | 654 comments That's actually not too surprising Elvia. I've run across a lot of Kenyon fans who don't "get" Ward and vice-versa. Some people like both, including myself, but I have to admit having a preference for Ward.;-)

UniquelyMoi ~ BlithelyBookish I also prefer Ward over Kenyon, but Kenyon is awesome!

message 31: by Elvia (new)

Elvia (elvb) I'm not a HUGE PR fan though. I'm more of an UF fan. I got into PR when Laurell K Hamilton turned Anita into a big 'ol dirty bird (LOL). Then I found Kenyon and thought it was great!

I loved the Vampire Acedmy Series!! I actually did a review of the series, which you can watch at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Baf8qY...
It was a great series!
Don't know the other one? Will have to check it out!

I am a very eclectic reader and find it hard to follow all the Classifications. For me there are only three classifications: Great, so-so, wish I had never read!!!

message 37: by Jen (last edited Aug 31, 2011 01:39PM) (new)

Jen (bookwormcastle) | 2 comments My current favorite is Boyfriend from Hell by E. Van Lowe- also wrote Never Slow Dance with a Zombie. Also, today is the last day the ebook is on sale!

From my review: "This book defies the traditions of the paranormal romance realm and delves into the deep end. With shocking twists at every turn, the main character, Megan feels like she doesn’t know who is who anymore or what is going on, as her life totally changes once her mom starts dating. The man seems perfect, almost too good to be true, (in her mom's eyes, at least) until she digs up some serious dirt on him. Not your average dirt either. But no one believes her, because it sounds too crazy. Who would believe a teenage girl saying that her mom’s new love interest is from hell?"

Check it out- http://bit.ly/nz7mpR

Jessica Healy (majessticon) I always loved The Nightworld series by L.J. Smith. I read them when I was a kid, and they've always stayed with me... possibly because even after twelve years we're still waiting on the last one... which is a major let down. Still, awesome books.

I was enjoying the Anita Blake books... until they stopped being paranormal romance and started being erotica... I love a bit of a tumble in the sack as much as anyone, but eeeesh... plot's nice too!

message 40: by Cary (new)

Cary (vortigern) | 344 comments Generally I hate series. After a few books they tend to get to same old same old. I would say four books is the limit. I like the Dune series. The first book blows away the rest. But the others are good. As far as pop series Sookie Stackhouse is the only other one I like.

message 41: by Shelby (new)
