So,with the new year, we have a brand new pretty Banner and - with it - a brand new Banner Challenge! Here's the place you can post your progress to keep up with how you're doing or to simply brag about how far you've gotten so far! ;)

Remember, you don't have to have read the books this year for it to count toward the challenge. So, if you read one a couple of years ago, feel free to go ahead and mark it off.

message 15: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 3369 comments Mod
Actually, Clockwork Angel is a separate shadowhunter series. It's the first one in it too, so you wouldn't have to worry about reading them out of order. :)

PinkyJapan (himajen) | 87 comments Devon wrote: "i've only read city of bones and im goin to be reading the series in order of publishing so next would be city of ashes then glass, then clockwork angel. can city of ashes count for clockwork ange..."

The author recommends you read them in this order:

City of Bones
City of Ashes
City of Glass
Clockwork Angel
City of Fallen Angels
Clockwork Prince
City of Lost Souls
Clockwork Princess
City of Heavenly Fire

But she also says that it doesn't matter what order you read them. This is simply her recommendation as she thinks it will be the most enjoyable for the reader.

Jennifer (goodreadscombulldogmom) I'm thinking I'm not going to get this done as most of the books are: 1. Not in my library; 2. Not on my TBR list; and, 3. Too sucked into some other challenges right now. Sorry.

Well, the Challenge lasts all year, so you wouldn't have to worry about time issues. But you don't have to do the challenge, either. It's entirely up to you and only meant to be fun.

Way to go, Lauren. I'll really have to break down and work on the list this summer. April is project time for school. =/

BTW, way Belle Epoque good? It seems interesting, but I haven't read it yet.

And awesome Lacee. It's nice to see other people excited for it. ^-^

message 26: by Lauren (new)

Lauren (bookschief_managed) Yeah, I'm looking forward to Spring Break and Summer for that very reason xD

I really enjoyed it, I'm not huge into historian novels but I definitely enjoyed this one. I flew through it and found it very compelling. :)

Melissa (melperry7) | 13 comments I would like a suggestion of which book in the banner challenge to start with please! I haven't read any of them! Oh and if it's in a series and not the first book please don't suggest it I'm gonna have to read the books that come before it first.

message 28: by Kristina (new)

Kristina My suggestions would be to start with one the the following by the genre you prefer.

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell for contemporary

The Maze Runner (Maze Runner, #1) by James Dashner for dystopian

Clockwork Angel (The Infernal Devices, #1) by Cassandra Clare for paranormal/fantasy

message 29: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melperry7) | 13 comments Thanks Kristina!! I think I'm gonna start with maze runner since the movie is coming out soon

Melissa (melperry7) | 13 comments I'm 50% done! I've been having a hard time finding some of these books at my local library so I've had to buy a couple of them. I did find a few of them on Oyster though so that helped.

Melissa (melperry7) | 13 comments Has anyone read More a Than This? I'm about 5 or 6 chapters in and can't really get into it and I've been working on it for a couple of days. Usually I can read a book in 1 or 2 days sometimes more depending on how busy I am. I just want to know if the book gets any better and is worth fighting through the first little bit. If not I think I'm giving up on it.

Jessica (Goldenfurpro) (goldenfurproductions) | 378 comments Mod
I really liked More Than This, but if it's taking you so long to get into it, it just may not be for you.
