College freshman Claire Danvers has had enough of her nightmarish dorm situation. When Claire heads off-campus, the imposing old house where she finds a room may not be much better. Her new roommates don't show many signs of life, but they'll have Claire's back when the town's deepest secrets come crawling out, hungry for fresh blood. Will she be able to face the town's terror or will she drown like everyone else?

Glass Houses is our READER PICK for the month of January. It is rated YA. Why not leave your thoughts, ideas and impressions in the thread below?

Armada Volya | 5 comments I read this book a few months ago. It was one of those books that put my life on pause because I just had to know how it ended. Don't want to spoil the end, so I'll just say, "Why, book? Why?" I wish I could forget the last chapter ever happened. But hey, I'm morbid, so I gave it 5 stars.

Jacinda | 49 comments Ooooh I love this series!!!

Jennifer McDonald (JenMcDonald) | 38 comments I read Glass House on a whim years ago and The Morganville Vampires quickly became one of my favorite series'.

Tiff | 2 comments I love this series! It is one of my favorites. Glass House was one of those books I could not put down.

Nicole (nigelc) I have read this book years ago. I love this series. Great read.

Jeanny (qubanqt) This pick just reminded me of a forgotten series. I read books 1 & 2 enjoyed them then forgot to follow up. I love rediscovering series. Yay!
-That said-
This book was a fun read. I remember being so engrossed in it i'd stay up late night reading resulting in me being cranky the next day due to lack of sleep. I'd complain i was tired the next day but let anyone suggest I stop reading & go to bed & I'd mentally slap them. LOL

Wow! So many votes of confidence. I'm glad this book won the Random.org randomizer, then. Will have to go grab a copy and load it onto my Nook. :-)

L.J. Scar (ljscar) Really great series. Be warned...there are many and they all have cliffhangers at the end. Very addictive!

Personally ... I don't mind a good cliffhanger (it's the adrenaline junkie in me) so long as each individual book has a complete story that is completed -prior- to the unexpected cliffhanger and it serves a purpose other than to torture the reader into buying the next book. 3:-)

Charlie (hokkaidomystic) Just finished this book today. It was a bit simplistic, but I have to say I enjoyed it a lot. No complaints at all.

Would you say it's simplistic as in 'Young-YA' (that 13-15 low end target)? Or simplistic as in not a lot of plot? I haven't had a chance to dive into it myself, but I'm always scoping out suitable reads for my young-YA.

Sarah Specchio I just finished this book and found it very enjoyable. The plot was always moving, which kept me engaged; however, I do understand the simplistic side as well. It was pretty much a straught forward story except for which side one of the characters was on (and it was pretty obvious that it was coming).

Overall, a fun, easy read. I'll definitely continue the series!

E.M. Reders (emreders) | 44 comments I read this book a while back and have since continued with the series though i do find i can easily put these books down and do the housework, which is not a good thing lol usually i can get so engrossed in a book that i tend to skip meals and stay up late into the night to finish them.
I do like the world created here though and enjoy the twists that keep coming with every book, i have only read the first 6 so far and there is a lot more to go, the series seems to be going on forever.

Uh, oh. I hate bad endings. Do you still think i'd like it? It's a series i've been wanting to read for a while.

I think it is a good book. This is one of my favorite series. I will say if you don't like the first book there is a good chance you will not like the rest of the books. I think most of the books end w/ a cliff hanger. I was lucky that I did not have to wait for each book to come out because there was a few time really good cliff hangers. I was sad to see this series end.
