Just finished this book yesterday. Loved it. I think it was better than her other two novels. fabulously dark mystery - im looking forward to discussion..
Thanks for the heads up! So far, I've only read one other book by Flynn: Gone Girl. But, I absolutely loved, loved, loved it. I'm definitely looking forward to this one!
I REALLY Really liked gone girl too! but this one seemed better. I think because i found the beginning of gone girl sloww.. this one had me from page 1.
This one wasn't my favorite of flynn's 3 novels. I thought this one was much slower moving than the other two and I didn't care for any of the characters. But I did like it and liked her usual twists and turns.
How far is everyone? what do you think so far?I loved the darkness of Libby's outlook and attitude. Its different than most books you pick up.
I only just started, but I love, love, love the writing. I'm up to chapter four "Ben Day, January 2, 1985, 9:13am"
I really enjoyed Dark Places! I finished that last week. Even though Libby's outlook on life quite drastic -and maybe a little too dark for some- I found it refreshing from the current archetype of the heroine in a lot of books these days. I also liked being in Ben's mind in his chapters. It was really intriguing.

I really liked that she would write from all perspectives. I enjoyed seeing through Bens eyes as well as their mother. great writing.
I'm convinced. Flynn is awesome! I've now read all three of her books (unfortunately in reverse order of publication.)My review.
I think what I love the most about Gillian Flynn´s writing is that she has no intention to create likable characters. I love that all of them from her three books are a creepy mixture of failure, fears and pure evil. What caught my attention is that all of the male characters in her books are weak. They just, as Ben said, shut up and took it in. As for the women,Diondra just blew my mind. But definetly Amma is her strongest character even stronger than Amy. I dont think i can call whick book is her best. Each one of them is very unique. Frightening, she just wont apologize for all the horrible scenarios she writes, which I love. She writes about the evil within women and that feel somehow empowering.Cant wait for more.
