2026 Reading Challenge discussion

Hey Gems!
Here is a little bit about me, in case you are following my reading journey through 2014:

I'm Jordan,a senior with an interesting love for the smell of pipe cleaners. In my spare time I like to read on the couch while arguing with my sister that people who are generally courteous and turn the television off when someone (who was there first) wants to read usually gets homemade pizza for dinner. (Did you enjoy that slow cooker meal, Keke?) If you haven't guessed I'm the cook. Next time I will finish my chapter without trying, and failing, to ignore Dr. Who's, Amy's, Rory's, and Kennedy's (who, yes, I have informed that they cannot hear her) argue about the rip in the fabric of space. Which, frankly, to this day I still have no idea what that even means. Enough about me I'm sure you don't want to hear about my love of chocolate or how happy I am in my clean craft room. I'll no longer keep you here, reading my very interesting, very fabulous life of arguments, detailed wardrobe changes in the middle of the day, and the usual sticky trap (meant for a rat) that my Pomeranian just happened to get stuck on the side of her face.

2014 Series Reading Challenge
This challenge is hosted by Read, Sleep, Repeat
GOAL: Ten (10) Series
COMPLETED: Zero (0) Series




The series I hope to complete this year, on this list, are in no particular order.

1. Gallagher Girls By Ally Carter I have only read the first two books and would like to continue on with the series.
2. Summer State of Mind By Jen CalonitaThis is the companion novel to Sleepaway Girls.
3. Cinder By Marissa Meyer I haven't started the Lunar Chronicles yet, and would really like to start/finish them in October.
4. Private By Kate Brian I am on book seven (7)... I think.
5. Divergent By Veronica Roth I would like to finish this trilogy before the movie comes out in March.
6. Half Upon a Time By James Riley A great middle grade series! I just need to finish the last one in the Trilogy.
7. Hush, Hush By Becca Fitzpatrick I finished the first book over a year ago, but would like to complete the last three before the movie comes out.
8. The Selection By Kiera Cass I am reading Elite right now, and would like to be finished with it before the next book comes out in... May?
9. The Alchemyst By Michael Scott I started this series when I was thirteen, I am about to be eigthteen but haven't gone further than the first half of the second book... don't you just love mathematical equations?
10. Anna and the French Kiss By Stephanie Perkins I bought the companion but ended up selling it because of the main character's parents. I plan on picking the last two up and finishing the series because I feel like an idiot for not finishing the darn series. I had a serious reading slump after getting rid of that book.

It’s time for the Bout of Books 9.0 Read-A-Thon! I am so excited. I had been entered in Bout of Books 8.0 but wasn't able to participate so I'm very excited to be participating in the new, shiny, edition.

January Reading Wrap-Up + Explanation

January 2014 was not a good start to the reading year for me. A family member broke her foot and I had to help out... As of 01/27/14 she is still non-weight bearing and is still fully dependent on us for the next 4 weeks. I haven't picked up one book all month because I've been too busy. I do plan to carve out some downtime in February as it's my birthday month and I plan to read a lot. I'm also excited because we are planning a special day out of town, after she gets better, and we are going to go on a book shopping spree so I have two more months to read a bunch of books off my TBR list to make room for the books I plan in buying.
