The Lost discussion

Peter pulled up and parked his bike. He grabbed the bag of groceries from the back holder and went up to the apartment door.

Avis walked over to the apartment. "Sorry about the wait." She said, unlocking the door. He had arrived before her.

Peter said "Its all good. I only just got here."

"That's good. Come on in." She said, taking some of the groceries.

Peter followed her in. He easily found the kitchen and placed his bag on the counter.

"So there's two bedrooms, " she said quickly, " mine and the guest one- now yours, I suppose."

"Sounds good. Now, I have a delicious dinner to make."

"What are you making?" She asked him, perching on the couch.

"I am making a delicious meal of fettuchiene."

"When did you learn how to cook?" She asked, curious, curling up on the couch.

((*facepalm* Dammit! Im gonna wind up doing that every time))

"I don't really know. One day, I just kinda started doing it. I needed to eat and I couldn't afford to pay for food every day. So, Id make food, freeze the leftovers and lived that way."

She smiled softly. "That's pretty smart. Better than what I did for myself." She said the second part quietly, not meaning for him to hear.

Peter didn't hear it. He was too busy straining the noodles in the sink to hear. He hummed as he did so

"Do you want to listen to anything?" She asked, wanting to do something other than just sit and let her thoughts wander.

"Hell yes. Music makes everything better."

"What do you like, then? You can go through my cd stack." She said nonchalantly. "it's in my room."

"Nah, you go grab something. Surprise me. I have broccoli to cut," Peter said with a grin as he pulled out a small stalk.

"Alright then." She went into her room and took out her collection of evanescence CDs, putting the first one into the player.

Peter quickly cut the broccoli and before he knew it, dinner was done. He found some plates, loaded two of them with cheesey, noodley deliciousness, and set the table, adding two glasses of water by each plate. "Dinner, is served."

"Thank you." She said, sitting down at the table. "It looks delicious."

"No problem. And Im hoping it'll taste as good as it looks," Peter answered

Avis dug in. "I attest that this tastes as good as it looks. Better, even."

Peter rapidly ate his dinner. He was hungry, just like an typical guy always is. "Ill get the dishes."

She smiled again. "Thanks. You're proving to be a pretty good roommate."

"Its the least I can do," Peter said with a shrug as he stood up and put his dirty dishes into the sink.

"Do you have anything you need to get from, um, where you were staying ?" She asked him.

"Not really. I have my extra clothes in the back of my bike in my bag. The only left there is some food," Peter answered

"Do you need to go get it?" She repeated, not sure.

"Nah. Someone else has probobally already claimed my spot so they can have it."

"Alright then. I need to put some sheets on your bed and move some stuff, but then it should be good to go."

"Sounds good," Peter said as he started on washing the dishes. He preferred hand washing over dishwashers so he filled the sink with soap and warm water and went to work

Avis started clearing her junk out if the room and making the bed. The sheets were dark green cotton with slightly lighter pillowcases, and the walls were painted a light blue.

Peter finished the dishes and put them away, then stored the leftovers in the fridge.

Avis stood up and stretched, she was surprisingly tired.

Peter walked over to her. "Tired?" he asked, raising a brow

"Yes, actually. I think it's all the good food." She said honestly, yawning.

Peter laughed. "Why don't you go take a nap or something. I promise I wont destroy the place."

"Oh, can I trust you on that then? You may have jinxed it." She teased.

Peter grinned, then gave a shrug. "Guess you'll just have to find out later."
