I didn't do the fairy tale retelling because I was never a fan of fairy tales to begin with. I might be the only one who has never read the originals to begin with. /blush
I'll second sci-fi.
So far that's:
Zombies
Sci-fi
Still plenty of time until the 25th, so if anyone has another book (or books) in mind, do nominate the relevant genre(s).
Remember, kids, the more people discuss these things the better. It helps readers find books they might like, it gives authors more exposure, and if you contribute to discussions then people are probably more likely to give your own book a chance.

If you have a book that's grumpy about Valentine's Day I might just vote for that... although that's probably unromance, now I come to think of it.
So, with a secondment from me, that's:
Zombies
Sci-fi
Romance
If anyone knows a futuristic story about the seduction of zombies it could tick all the boxes.

Edited: stupid auto correct on iPad

My friend and I wrote a song long ago called You Stole My Heart (So I Stole You Leg) which was our entry in a musical comedy competition. Needless to say, we didn't win. I won't share the YouTube link...
There's an off-chance the vote might be delayed. It's unlikely, but there's some electrical and internet stuff going on in the next few days and weeks. My presence online generally might become sporadic, so if the vote's a little late, that'll be why.
Right, got up early to get this done. It closes on the 28th, so get cracking: https://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/9...
Any nominations are welcome but I would ask that anyone proposing (and preferably seconding) a genre has at least one independent book in that genre in mind. Any genre must be seconded to be included on the poll.
In addition, a reminder that a genre (or book, subsequently) that wins because of brand new members who have done nothing but join and vote or 'sleeper' members who are similar but have been around a little longer may be disqualified.
If we get a category that has but a single book nominated then obviously we'll go with that. If we get more than one we'll have a vote.
The poll will begin on the 25th of this month.
Remember, kids, it's a very good thing to participate. Not only can you find good books you might not otherwise read, the more contributors we get in these threads the better the feedback for the authors. It'll help potential readers to be warned off bad books and encouraged to read a lesser known but good book.
The poll for the book selection, if there is one, will occur after the Fantasy Book of the Month vote.
