This is where the queens and the kits rest. Most kits have to stay in here for a majority of the time.

Mudleaf looked at the little bundle of fur in front of her. "You expect me to care for this kit? Very well. After Cinderkit, and that hawk, I will protect him with my own life! And all of the kits." She licked the small cat. "I will care for Demonkit."

Demonkit glanced up at Mudleaf and purred. He had never had anyone who really cared about him before.

Mudleaf stared at Demonkit in the faint light of the nursery. "You will be a very strong warrior Demonkit." She felt joy again as she did with Cinderkit for that short time. Before that day. The day her kit was taken.

Demonkit glanced around curiously, "Can I go explore the camp?" he asked.

"Soon my kit. But for tonight lets stay in the nursery. I will show you around tommorow." they wandered into the den together and laid down to sleep. The feathers and moss was as soft as a rabbit's pelt.

"Aww... but the nursery is no fun!" Demonkit moaned, but he was tired so he ended up falling asleep anyway.

The next morning Mudleaf was happy to show her new kit the camp. "Come on Demonkit, where would you want to go first?"

"I don't care; I just wanna see everything!" he exclaimed with his eyes wide.

"Alright, How about the apprentice den? That's where you'll be staying in a few moons." The walked side by side to the small den. "This is where you will soon stay."

"Ooh! It looks like a den!" Demonkit's eyes widened, "But I'll be staying with different cats!"

"All apprentices stay here. You'll stay with whoever is still an aprentice." Mudleaf felt joy again in the curiosity of the kit. "Now to the elder's den. That's one place you should see." Demonkit scurried along after her.

"Why do I need to see the elder's den? I'm not an elder!" Demonkit asked.

Mudleaf thought of the answer. "Well the elders have survived everything. Drought, fires, greencough, battles. They have amazing stories if you'll be willing to listen to them. As long as you aren't rude."

"Well I do like stories." Demonkit purred.

"Almost everyone does. And here is the warrior den, when you move into the apprentice den, I'll move here. And when you finally become a warrior you can stay here too." Mudleaf thought of her new son becoming the most powerful warrior.

Mudleaf and Demonkit left the nursery to congradulate Lostmist. Her old friend now the deputy. She never thought the quiet stuttering cat could be in that power. She rushed over. "Oh Lostmist! I can't beleve you're deputy! This is amazing!" she purred. Lostmist looked to her paws.

Demonkit cocked his head, "New deputy? What happened to the old deputy?" he asked curiously.

Mudleaf hesitated. "Darkshadow decided that the clans weren't a place for him. He tried to hurt Jaystar."
