I would LOVE to recommend The Lumatere Chronicles by Melina Marchetta! Hands down, my favorite series I ever read, best books I've ever read!! Check em out:
Finnikin of the Rock Book 1
Froi of the Exiles Book 2
Quintana of Charyn Book 3
I'd like to recommend the books of Graham Joyce, who works in fantasy and magical realism. Some of my favorites are:The Tooth Fairy
Some Kind of Fairy Tale
The Limits Of Enchantment
Requiem
The Silent Land
Joyce introduces himself on his website: http://www.grahamjoyce.co.uk/?page_id=17
I,d love to recommend this author Scott Hildreth!! He's a brilliant writer! Here's his Amazon author's page link :)http://www.amazon.com/Scott-Hildreth/...
In the YA genre, I've really enjoyed the Fairyland series by Catherynne M. Valente: So far there are 3 books:The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making
The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There
The Girl Who Soared Over Fairyland and Cut the Moon in Two
September is one of my favorite young female protagonists ever. Valente has a fun website devoted just to this series: http://valentefairyland.com/
Ladies and gents (if there are any), I would highly recommend
books. If you love romance with some sex lol, then I recommend you read
,
and
. Also she has written a great YA series called The Guardians of Vesturon.

Hi Everyone. Would like to recommend
by Zack Love. It's a short story, but all I can say is WOW! Very thought proking and beautiful written!
Kat wrote: "I recommend Mark Billingham - Rush of blood for anyone into crime"I've added it Kat! I'm looking for something light hearted, I've been reading sad stories for awhile it seems.
I highly recommend Tuesdays With Morrie, I just read it and can't believe I had waited so many years!
Kaya wrote: "I honestly recommend And the Mountains Echoed Everyone should read at least one Hosseini's book."I finally got around to reading The Kite Runner not too long ago, and I absolutely loved it! I do plan on reading And the Mountains Echoed at some point this year.
Lately I've been re-reading some of my old favorites. Right now, since I'm currently reading them, I would recommend The Amelia Peabody Series by Elizabeth Peters. They are great for mystery lovers and historical fiction lovers alike. If you enjoy a bit of classic adventure with a strong female lead and a bit of humor tied in, then this is the series for you! Here are the first 6 books in the series (I can't remember, but I think there are 18 in all):

And The Mountains Echoed is a bit different than The Kite Runner, but the theme is the same - life in Afghanistan. A lot of readers seem to think this is Hosseini's weakest work, but for me it's the greatest.
Hey guys. A few group members have asked me when my new thriller Elixir will be available on Amazon. I’m happy to announce it just officially went out for Kindle. Check it out here:http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MAYJIZM
Elixir is a story about a teenage genius who goes on a suspenseful adventure to cure his girlfriend of a mystery illness.
FYI, the paperback will be available in September.

So, I just finished the Divergent series (with the exception of Four, gotta get my hands on it!) Usually dystopians aren't my genre but I LOVED it! The action was great, I loved the relationships and how you could feel the emotions... So, does anyone have any recommendations for books similar?? Can be YA or NA either or(: Thanks in advance!!
Amanda - I don't know if you've already read the series, but the most similar I can think of is The Hunger Games series. I also enjoyed the Legend series. Both are YA.
Thanks Kristie! I haven't read either of them, I was thinking about the Hunger Games. But, I'll have to try both, thanks!!

I recommend my new favorite crime thriller...
First Night of SummerAn emotionally-charged read, packed full of suspense that keeps you guessing till the very end. Have your tissues ready!!
This isn't a book recommendation but I wasn't sure where else to put it..this is a challenge recommendation for 2015..http://www.popsugar.com/love/Reading-...
I plan to do it but was wondering if anyone else is interested in doing it as a group? If so, let me know and I'll be glad to type it up. :)

I'm definitely in!! :)
I recently read Fingersmith by Sarah Waters. I highly recommend it to anyone interested in historical fiction. Be cautious of reviews because it is so hard to write about this book without any spoilers.
Hi, everyone! Looking for some recommendations for short stories to read for a book challenge I'm participating in this year. I've read collections like The Secrets of a Fire King by Kim Edwards and The Color Master: Stories by Aimee Bender in the past and enjoyed them, so maybe something along those lines...although I'm open to anything. Any good suggestions?
I really enjoyed The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. Very good mystery story for book lovers! There are so many great quotes about reading and books that any book lover will be able to relate to.

I have plenty of recommendations. I won't lie, I am a biased party. But still, honest, these are worth a read: Fantasy: Shadow of the Mountain
YA Fantasy: I Belong to the Earth
Sci-Fi: The Exile Empire
Memoir: Life with Charley: A Memoir of Down Syndrome Adoption
Romance: Stay the Night
Finished Blackout: Remembering the Things I Drank to Forget. My review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster – 5***** This is the second time I’ve read this wonderful book this year (first read in February 2015). It’s just an absolute delight – fun for both adults and children.
