J.C. Torre (jdelator) | 7 comments Hey all, from another good reads thread http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6... came the brilliant idea of exchanging tags.

Since I don't see another thread on it here (I apologize if it has and just missed it) - let me be the first of the group to suggest we employ this practice as well. It does actually seem to work.

Let's follow Todd's format of
* Name of your book
* Description (back blurb)
* Amazon link
* Three or fewer requested tags (I won’t publish more than three – choose wisely)
* Author / book website link

Be sure to checkmark the "Email me when people reply" so you can tag the new authors joining us in this adventure. Also, please do tag the other authors - this won't work for us if you post yours but don't tag anyone else. In other words, don't be a leech!

Okay, I'll start - I have two books to submit -
* Name of your book - Ancient Rising - Rise of the Ancients Book I
* Description (back blurb)
A widower is set off on an amazing adventure by a man claiming to be a god. Like Indiana Jones meets Clash of the Titans, follow Dan Ryan through Egypt, Greece, and the Mexican Jungle as he unlocks the keys to finding the lost continent of Atlantis and the gods that are imprisoned there.

Fantasy, Atlantis, Action Adventure
* Author / book website link (if you have one)

Book 2 -
# Name of your book
Rise of the Ancients - Annuna
# Description (back blurb)
The latest two books of the Rise of the Ancients series combined into one action packed novel. Book II - Ancient Destruction picks up where Ancient Rising left off as Dan Ryan and Prometheus battles Zeus, Poseidon and the other Gods as they race to a secret location that could be the catalyst to saving mankind. While the battle wages on, we learn the origin of man, the rise to power of the Gods, and the fall of Atlantis. Finally, in BOOK III - Rise of the Annuna - Ryan must go through Heaven and Hell, face his own internal demons, and convince the Annuna to join in a climactic battle with humanity hanging in the balance.

Not a bad idea, JC. Thanx for thinking of it. :o) I went ahead and tagged yours.

Here's my four (kindle versions):

Betrayal
Blurb: Running for her life, Bri finds herself in a situation that she cannot escape--under the power of Adam Prestwich. Returned to the clutches of her money-hungry family, she tries her best to endure the petty cruelties and indignities inflicted on her by her family. When the abuse becomes too much, she must rely on her friends to save her even though she has done everything in her power to drive them away. Adam Prestwich is keeping secrets. Owning a title he'd rather not acknowledge is the least of them. Falling in love with a woman he despises quickly becomes the worst of them. When the actions of her family again place her in his care, he must distance himself to avoid an entanglement that would cause nothing but misery.

Spellbound
Blurb: When Raven Emerson, actress extraordinaire, is asked to impersonate a missing noblewoman, she is curious enough to accept despite the risk to herself should she get caught. Delving into the mystery that is her employer occupies her despite the physical temptation the man represents. Having sworn never to take another protector after the horrifying spectacle she'd made of herself over the last one, this is a challenge of monumental proportions. Her employer, the elusive Duke of Windhaven, is desperate to make his family think he is properly and happily engaged. Hiring Raven is a means to an end. Falling in love with her merely increases his determination to call the beautiful actress his own. Staging a phony marriage ceremony to satisfy his grandmother helps reveal certain things about Raven that do not add up. Fighting demons from his own past, he convinces Raven to uphold the charade until he can uncover the secrets of her childhood.

Heartless
Blurb: Miss Leandra Harcourt finds herself in dire straits with the passing of her father. Abandoned and alone, she takes a chance on a dark stranger at a small inn. Married, she learns about her husband during his extended absences, discovering more truth and mystery than she ever could have dreamed. The Duke of Derringer is feared and reviled wherever he goes. Taking what he wants and damning the consequences, he is a man not to be crossed. Finding himself suddenly in need of a wife only interferes with the plans he has already set in motion. Vowing to marry the first woman he meets, he stumbles upon Leandra Harcourt, desperate and alone. With only sporadic visits home, Derringer finds his wife intriguing, baffling, and oddly desirable. In her prosaic attitude and calm demeanor, he discovers a peacefulness that he's never known in his life and knows he will never find again.While facing a nameless assassin, his search for his missing cousin intensifies. Little does he realize that in reaching his goal, his enemies may reach theirs, endangering his new bride as well.

Redemption
Blurb: Miles Prestwich is in love. The object of his desire is Lady Guinevere Northwicke who is, unfortunately, the daughter of a powerful duke--who also happens to be a very loving and protective father. Believing his suit to be unworthy, he tries to forget and limits his interaction with her. Then his twin brother arrives in Town. Darius is everything that Miles is not. He drinks too much, gambles too much, fights too much, and doesn't care a rap for Society or its strictures. When the lovely Lady Genevieve Northwicke catches his eye, he ignores the warnings fired at him from all corners, resulting in the death of that lady's reputation. Rather than facing the consequences of his actions, he flees. Miles must resolve the situation the only way he knows how: offer marriage to the sister of his beloved to rescue her from scandal. But will his action actually solve the problem? Or cause more misery than anyone could possibly imagine?

Sharon (fiona64) This is a great idea. It'll be a little bit before my book is on Amazon UK (it's a bit of a process for the publisher), but as soon as the link is up I'll be participating in the exchange. :-)

Have you considered putting your book on the Kindle?

message 6: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (fiona64) Hi, Jaimey. It's set up on Smashwords for Kindle already. :-) Once I have the UK ISBN, I can more forward with the Kindle process on Amazon US. (It still takes time to be listed, which is kind of a pain.)

Sharon Ellis | 10 comments Hi Everyone! I am an author and my book Communions With Christ is now selling on Amazon.com

How do I find my actual "www.Amazon..." address like I have been seeing is posted here for us to click on each others sites?

Thanks! Happy Freedom!
Sharon

Sharon Ellis | 10 comments I have clicked on everyone's links here. Wow! such interesting books everyone! I've been reading about them all! And such wonderful covers,too!
This is a great idea to inform each other about books.

Does a click on our Amazon link actually make Amazon ratings go up?

Hi Sharon, your amazon link is the long URL at the top of your book titles page....here it is http://www.amazon.com/Communions-Chri... Sadly, a click doesn't do anything....unless (of course) the clisk results in a sale.

Ciao, Stuart

Carole (casutton) | 11 comments Please can somebody explain to me why we need another Tagging group. Am I missing something here? I thought Todd Fonseca was doing an excellent job and it was a system that worked well. He tells us what to tag, and we tag it! We don't have to wait for individuals to tell us. The addition of another tagging site is confusing. Are we supposed to follow two separate sites, will some be on one site and some on another? Is it intended as a replacemnt, or is it doing something TMBOA is not?

Please explain!

You don't have to follow both tagging "sites" Carole. There may be some in this group who don't follow Todd's for whatever reason or have never even heard of Todd's tagging list. If you don't want to participate in this, don't. There are no rules for participation in the Author Support Group. Do what you think will help you, share what helped you the most, etc. If you don't want to mess with another tagging list, there is no rule that says you have to. Todd is doing a wonderful job with his site and deserves praise for it. And maybe, with this thread, others who have not heard of it will become curious about the massively long list of books participating in "tagging" on Amazon. We are not attempting to "replace" Todd's site. Heaven forbid! Todd's list has almost as many books as Amazon, LOL!

I'm sorry this thread seems to have upset you. :o( That was definitely NOT it's intention.

For anyone curious about Todd's site, take a look: http://tagmybookonamazon.wordpress.com/

This is NOT to replace Todd's webpage. This was just an additional resource for those who are not members of the Tips for Self Promotion, Sales, and Advertising group. If you noticed at the top of the page, I linked his group post as well.

Perhaps I should have linked his site as well...I didn't think about it.

This was just to expose his idea to more people. It was not intended as an alternative or a replacement.

By all means, everyone go to his site http://tagmybookonamazon.wordpress.com/ ...or use this thread - it doesn't matter to me. I tag both.

Carole (casutton) | 11 comments Okay, Jaimey and JC -- thanks for the explanations. I did not pick up that it was for people who are not members of Tips for Self Promotions, Sales and Advertising group. Then, of course, it makes sense. Don't worry, Jaimey, 'upset' was not the right word, puzzled was more fitting! :>)

I'm quite happy to participate in tagging other people's books --- but as I have tagged everyone on Todd's list,I didn't want to start all over again only to find all my ticks were already in place.

Sharon (fiona64) http://www.amazon.co.uk/Eye-Beholder-...

Now that the link is corrected, I feel better, LOL.

Title: In The Eye of The Beholder: A Novel of the Phantom of the Opera
Synopsis: When French equestrian Claire Delacroix loses her fiance in a tragic accident, she comes to live at the Paris Opera during its 1890s heyday. Life is not easy for a woman in fin de siecle France, where her rights are determined by a male guardian. Claire, both intelligent and independent, chafes under the strictures of her time.

Whilst working at the opera, she meets a mysterious, masked stranger: Erik. Is it possible that the two of them will heal the pain of each other's past?

Thanks, everyone. It works exactly the same way at Amazon UK as it does in the US. Just log in with your regular Amazon ID and password. :-)

I didn't realize it would work! All this time, I've thought I'd have to order from the UK site in order to tag people's UK books. Go figure!

I've tagged you, Sharon. :o)

Sharon (fiona64) Hi, everyone. I've now tagged all of the books folks listed. Thanks for the exchange. :-)

It's a little tricky. You can tag without having bought something, but the tags don't show up publicly until you've done so. Fortunately for me, I have an on-line friend, Tom Cox, who has written an adorable book called "Under the Paw" -- it's only available in the UK, so I went ahead and finally ordered it. For those who do not know the book:

Under the Paw Confessions of a Cat Man by Tom Cox

The excerpts I've seen are pricelessly cute.
