this one was one that i had wanted to get started on, but could never get the ball rolling on. i have book 2, and that's it. shame, it was so cute!
me too!! i swear i go broke trying to keep up with all of the series i have started. up until last month i would memorize which series were coming out when so i could budget my book buying accordingly, but then i wandered into half price books, and i don't know what comes out when now. lol. there was just too many things i wanted. oh, i'm still trying to figure out how i'm going to pay that bill.
haha! that's funny :)
I wish I could buy them. My mom hates mangas! So she might not want me to buy them anyway.

nah, when i lived at home i kept my manga on the d/l. i even had a bookshelf that i started to fill in my closet (it was already there before i started my manga addiction). it wasn't until after i moved out that i started to ask for them for my birthday and such. but yeah, when i was younger, my mom bought me archies to try to get me to read. so i guess i was always in a different situation.
probably longer. they were around when i was in elementary school, and they were old then! lol! they're classic "americana" when you really think about it. when i think american comics, i think archie, peanuts, batman, superman, x-men, and captain america. there's probably so many more you could add to the list too.
i think the hulk is from the 50s, and wolverine is from the 80s, maybe 70s. wolverine was developed after x-men became popular, much like the deadpool series. i think spiderman was in the 60s. maybe i'll look it up. haha, maybe.
alright, looked it up.
xmen: 1963
spiderman: 1962
hulk: 1962
wolverine: 1982 (from what i could tell about his own series.)

well it's not that i think people aren't adventurous, i think that sometimes you can't go wrong with a classic. i think that all of those series are still ongoing. i mean, captain america was killed off this year, and that series came before those other ones.
yep, then when you have an idea, bring them back somehow. like with some freakish sci. experiment or as a ghost.
"That is true, I was dead, but now I live, because I am a freak of nature! muwhahaha"
sorry, that's my sick humor coming out. hehe

my bff wants me to watch the anime sooo badly, but i havnt really had the time, i was wundering if there is any use in me even watching it for the first time, would it even be worth my time to watch card captor?
seeing card capture sakura's anime? i saw a handful of episodes when it was a saturday morning cartoon. it's really good. i highly recommend it.
lol. there are sites where you can watch it for free without d/ling them. but i don't know them. you can also check utube. they have lots of random stuff.
oh, but i saw it on "kids wb" when that channel was still that. so anyone with basic cable in my area could have seen it. yep, there was sailor moon, samuri pizza cats, digimon, pokemon, card capture sakura, yugi oh!, and dbz. not all on the same day of course, or even on during the same years.
i found a theam song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wrote: "Li is sorta hott."i think toya is soooooooo much better
li is great, but he's kinda young.....
1) Toya
2) Syaoran
what did you guys think of yukito? i thought they did a bad job in the anime

i haven't seen the "wb" in a long time. i was thinking that cartoon network kept adding odd animes. but honestly, i just don't watch too much anime anymore. i'll buy it and watch what i own from time to time, but i won't watch it on the tv anymore. now, if they brought back sailor moon, i might change my mind. haha
i love spirited away! that's an awesome movie! i didn't think it was that weird, now, utena is a weird movie.
my sister watches tons of anime online. she's told me the sites before, but i always loose the papers that i write the names on.

i agree, spirited away was an amazing movie, yet it was weirdnot being racist or anything, but these japanese people come up with the most amazing animes and manga
i cant be racist because im asian lol
I used to like sailor moon.... Sorry, I'm reading posts. heheh
sailor moon is just a classic. it's been so long since i've seen it, i miss it. now if i had been seeing it all along, i might not be as found of it as i still am.
i used to be OBSESSED over sailor moon, but thats not true anymorei mean, i will still watch it but i dont like it as much anymore
but like yah know, most animes are way too girly
take sailor moon for instance??? most of their transformations are too girly and take up too much time
i mean, can they seriously spend a minute transforming and showing off without getting attacked?!?!?
same with tokyo mew mew, her transformations was girly and lengthy as well
thats why i liked the anime sakura teh cardcaptor, it wasnt as girly as other girl animes
mermaid melody was the same way! at least the songs were catchey. but i had always wondered that too, and then the 40+ enemies would attack one or two at a time. that was always comical
i dont understand myselfi am OBSESSED with zodiac pi and sakura the cardcaptor for some reason
this is weird, but i have like this longing and yearning to read the series over and over
so? that's what you do with an obesession series. lol. i have tons! marmalade boy, gentlemen's alliance, red river, hana kimi, skip beat- yeah, i think that's all of the ones that made it to obesession status. but yeah, once you're done reading the latest book, or are feeling like you just want to read the series, you just start it over again. i've read them probably about 20+ times each.

i'm just thrilled that the ones they have, i don't have to buy to read, or read quickly in a corner. like the canteralla series. i ended up hating that series by the end. i'm so glad that i didn't waste the 100 bucks reading all of it.
it was, then i disagreed with the direction higuri took with it. to top it off, i thought she focused too much on the supernatural side of the story, leaving charcter development high and dry.
there was both. i think she depended too much on the supernatural aspect because she didn't build her characters strong enough without it. i mean, they were real people, they had normal human abilites to manipluate the situations, i just wish i would have seen more of that. i thought it was a cop-out to depend so much on the supernatural side.
well, your teacher is right. you are still accountable to the people when you are a dictator. but sometimes people just don't want to do what is best for certain situations. in a democracy, the best you can always do is compromise, in a dictatorship, it's just your descision. a good leader will always try to do what is best for everyone, or the majority, and not just himself. a democratic society can still be manipulated as if it were a dictatorship, and a dictatorship could be run simular to a democracy. it really depends on the style of the leader and thier descision making process. but the more voices and regions you add, the harder democracies become
well, if a dictator messes up badly enough, they would be in fear of loosing their position to a rival/uprising. democracies can be more violitale due to many contending for power. the reason why america is a democracy is because the founders felt that england had a next to perfect government system. it's easier to see what the people think they want in a democracy, it may not always be what they need though. while it may be true that everyone is "responisble," the ppl will never see it that way. they will always blame the leader in power when things go wrong.
i think he's smarter than what people give him credit for. i mean, he had graduated from yale, didn't just attend there. i think that he just played up that image to make him seem more approachable. plus, you could tell he had a ton of faith in the people as a nation. it was really nice to see that come across.
