This entire section is just wow. Wow. Hold up.

First, I'm glad there was mention the sugar bowl does have a tight lid, so the secret wouldn't fall out. Mystery over.

It's amazing the things Olaf and Esme come up with. Still wanting to know who the new associates are, but I didn't expect them to be loose-lipped about their identities. Maybe in the next book we'll get some more information concerning them.

Esme is still making me think of Effie from The Hunger Games. Maybe a Effie/Lady Gaga crossover. What's with the octopus costume? And the wet noodle, oh my gosh, that reminds me of my algebra II and pre-calculus teacher who told us she would hit us with a wet noodle if we misbehaved.

Who was expecting the hook-handed man to be an ally? I can't believe he and Fiona are siblings. Wow. I'm wondering if there will be any betrayal on the siblings' part, or if they really will help the Baudelaires.

With the hook-handed man, some of the things he said was interesting. I'm dying to know more about the Baudelaires' parents. Were they really not as perfect as they seem? Same with Jacques. I'm sure what the hook-handed man did wasn't good either, but I wonder if the whole V.F.D. was something we all never could have thought of. This kind of puts things in another persepective. Love the part when the hook-handed man pointed out the the Daily Punctilo never writes anything accurate about the Baudelaires, so why would they believe an article written about him.
