Out of the many characters that died if u had to pick one to save from death who would it be? why and how do u think that would affect the story?

Is like to save Jack Random. He did so much throughout his life fighting the empire and got a bit crazy at the end. However - as he was killed by Ruby they could both run off and live happily ever after together, thus not affecting the story line too much.
Yea I get where your coming from when they died I was quite shocked, but being who they are I don't feel they could take a step back from everything. its in both their natures to fight, whether it be for a cause like random or just cuz they like too like ruby. I think that's why random went a little mad I felt like once the rebellion was over he questioned his purpose, as for ruby even tho through out the whole series all she wanted was her stack of gold, once she had it she didn't know what to do with herself either. Ha I guess they don't seem like the happy ever after type, but I wish they would of found some sort of happy ending as well
Though I did feel very, very sorry for Jack and Ruby, and I wish they could have had a normal, perfect relationship, both were too strong in their own opposing ideals for it to ever work.
So, in retrospect, I would save Kit Summerisle. I found it unspeakably cruel that he was killed as soon as he started trying being a better person, having suffered the death of his best and only friend. I would save him, if I could choose one. If I could choose two? Of course I would bring back David as well, because it's sad to think of Kit living without David, but I'd bring back Kit first and foremost. Though I don't think it would hugely affect the story.
Another interesting possibility would be bringing back Latisha Shreck. It was cruel how she died as well, and I would love for her and Robert to have their own little happily ever after. Though that would hugely affect the story, seeing as Robert would never marry Clarissa.

Can I bring the entire Deathstalker clan back to life? Where they all get slaughtered still makes me tear up....so brave.....Otherwise could it be Giles - as I love how bad he can be when he thinks he's doing it all to make the Deathstalker Clan safe and secure...
Well, in terms of bringing the entire Deathstalker Clan back to life, I'm totally in favour of that - I still get all weepy every time I read about them being slaughtered. But, as they say; Deathstalker luck. Always bad. :(
And though I think calling Giles a nutcase is a bit harsh, I'm not sure I'd want to bring him back to life. In a way I think it was just his time to go, though I do find it extremely sad, seeing as he was always just trying to do the right thing. And I'm not going to lie - seeing little Giles in the final book meant I was hastily wiping my eyes again.

He was a psychopath. Had his own agenda! Lacked any empathy and he would of killed anyone in his path to achieve his goals. He was the polar opposite of Owen. I feel he was faking his remorse of all the shit he did at the end he was ready to do it all again.
Well I can't honestly say I agree with you on this one, unfortunately. I do admit that he would have killed anyone to achieve his goals, but I think saying he has a lack of remorse is far from the truth. I mean, he only wanted the Crown so that he could right the wrongs he had committed in the past, to try and atone for all the harm he'd caused.
Now, I'm not saying he was going the right way about atoning, and I'm not saying he wouldn't have... deviated a little from his original plan, once he had absolute power. But I do believe he had a genuine remorse, that was rather complicated by his having come back after 900 years to discover that the Empire was even worse than what it had been.

Yea I know what u mean. It all sounds nice the way he wanted to take over so he could do the right thing for the people, but to me that sounds like every other crazy dictator out in the world committing atrocities in the name of justice and stuff. That's the way I see it. Using a noble cause to kill people, if he wanted to do right why didn't he just stick to Owen's plan which they had all along? Why did HE have to be in power?
I completely agree with what you're saying - all I'm saying is I do think that he started off with good intentions. I do think it would have very quickly gone pear-shaped and crazy-dictator-like. And in answer to your question, I think after having killed billions of people he felt rather heavy that he personally needed to atone for, well everything, and he didn't want to hand that responsibility over to anyone else. Even dear Owen.
Giles was also meant to represent the culture and society 900 years passed.....so you could see the progression of the Deathstalkers.....he makes an appearance in one of the Drood books by Green, and there he's sort of this lone warrior, standing firm against the onslaught of what he thinks is evil.....I think Giles is a "nutcase" but he's a man made from his times, while Owen is the scholar warrior....who has progressed a long way from that of his ancestors.
You can also compare Dram with Giles too - like father like son....men with no compunction about achieving their ends no matter the cost......
Bring back the Deathstalkers - all of them!!!
:D LOL; "900 year old fart". Nice.
If it helps, we could bring him back and then just keep him under very close guard? For a while at least, until he un-crazies himself a bit.

I mean he could def be someone good to hve around specially with all the experience he has, but u would have to watch your back no doubt specially if u disagree with his way of ruling.
If Giles is 900 years old, then would Dram be the same era? I know Lionstone kept him as a clone....but still????And I could just see Giles reacting to being called an old fart...loved it - made me snort with laughter....
Um, yeah, Dram would be just about the same age, a bit younger obviously. But he had a bit more time to... acclimatize, and he hadn't killed billions of people in one go either. Plus he was never so concerned with the state of the Empire as his father was.
:D I could totally see that!

Also I saw kit wasn't mentioned earlier. I got a question about him. Was he gay? Like did he love David? Or was he in love with David?
In answer to the first question, yes, Dram was Giles' son. :)
In answer to the second... I'm not entirely sure, but I'm going to go with Kit being bisexual. I mean, we know that he slept with Jenny Marsh, on Virimonde - at least I think that was her name - but I also think he loved David more than he'd ever loved anyone else. So yeah, I'm going to go with bi, but everyone else feel free to add their thoughts. :)

Yes the Father and son issues were totally explored in the Giles/Dram face off....Kit loved David - and I finally went - he's redeeming himself.....
I know, I was so terribly sad that Kit died just as he started becoming a better person. :( Hence my comment ^^ about wanting to bring him back.
And have I mentioned I really, really wish I could bring Julian back?

Yea I feel kit went out in a pretty un-epic way as well! Killed by Owen out of vengeance, I feel that was a little out character or at least wrong for Owen to do. "Hold on im going to put saving humanity on hold real quick travel through space and time and kill this cat real quick"
I know right! I mentioned that in my review, I was so disappointed in Owen; it just seemed so dumb and spiteful and out of character.
But then he could be dumb and spiteful...for one little moment....remember he is a relative of Giles...
Ya I would of liked to see them fight a lot earlier. I mean by this stage Owen was embracing his super powers so it's a bit unfair cuz kit was just a bad ass mother ducker and Owen was like collapsing building with his mind.
No, I meant any other moment to be dumb and spiteful, any moment that didn't involve fighting and or killing Kit Summerisle. That whole scene just sucked, frankly. No other word for it.
But we still needed to be reminded that even though Owen was entering super Awesome Avenger Owen (toy range will be available soon) phase, he was still capable of being human, and making a stupid mistake.....
I perfectly understand that necessity to show he was still human, and in that way, perhaps having Owen kill Kit Summerisle was the right choice. However, that will never stop me lamenting Kits tragic death, and being deeply disappointed in Owen. I can think of any number of people I would have preferred he take his venom out on.
But then that's the tragedy of it all, Kit will never....and we'll never get the opportunity. Another reason why the Deathstalker books are soooo good.

True. Too true... *sniffles*
