Emily Rain bounced off of the canopy of trees, illuminated by the silver claw of the moon. Thunder boomed, and lightning flashed. Leaf could feel the tension in her mate as the white wolf stood beside her. The lightning flashed again, showing a pair of glowing yellow eyes. It was the lone wolf. Leaf snarled at it, and it leaped from the boulder, growling.

Leaf attacked, lunging at his throat. The wolf snapped a paw down on leaf's nose, leaving her reeling. Leaf's mate, Roni, knocked the lone male over, tearing at its flesh. The male shoved Roni against another huge boulder and snarled at him. Leaf barked, and the male's attention shifted to her. Leaving injured Roni against the boulder, the wolf crouched forward, teeth bared, and a bead of saliva hung from his jowls.
Leaf backed up, snarling. She was cornered, but she wouldn't give up. The wolf lunged forward, but at the last second, Roni grabbed onto his tail and jerked the male backwards. Leaf then dove forward, tearing into the male's throat. He howled as she tore his flesh, and blood gushed out, staining leaf's muzzle. Roni let him go, and the male ran out, cowering. Leaf drew close to Roni, excited and bloodthirsty. Then she ran out, enjoying herself. She knew she had to be careful, otherwise the long-paws would catch her. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a white flash fly past. It was another wolf. Realizing her stupidity, she remained hidden.
She had crossed into a rival pack's territory. The Zappha gang they were called. Snarling wolves leaped past her hiding spot, and Leaf watched with disgust. They were on the hunt. They brought down a deer, and Leaf felt a pang of jealousy. Leaf and Roni needed nourishment more than they did, especially since Leaf would bare pups soon.
As soon as the Zappha gang were out of sight, Leaf slunk out.
