message 2: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 28 comments It was not terrible. Veronica thought it was the right way to end it, and even though it was very, very, very, very....sad and heartbreaking, it shows how strong Tris was and stood for what she thought was right. So yes, I agree it was terrible, but I also disagree, because the book was beautiful.

Tiahn-eats-pancakes | 1 comments I cried. I don't cry at much but that was so sad.

Hannah Renee Becker (hannahrenee57) | 2 comments I cried a lot at the ending. I agree that it was very sad, but now Tris will not hurt everyday, or think about how she killed her friend Will. It also had a life lesson at the end of the book. So, even though i cried a river, i thought the ending was well done.

Kalina Sue | 1 comments The ending was heartbreaking. I see where she was going and why she did it, but I am not happy about the way the book ended. Devastating is the word that came to mind. You get so attached to a character and it wasn't even her death that shattered me, it was how it effected Tobias. Horrible

Alicia | 28 comments I read the book the day it came out and I finished it in one and a half days and still crying over it

Freya Hopkins | 2 comments I was so upset :( I somehow thought she could live through a bullet as she had been through so much more but she didn't. The worst part was that you had to relive it by Tobias dealing with her death. :( I got sooo angry when he was about to take the memory serum!

P.S do you think Four and Cristiana would go out?

message 8: by Chapter 35 (new)

Chapter 35 (chapter35) | 2 comments I just completed the final book this morning, I got to page 490 last night - bawled my eyes out. Not just a few 'ohh thats so sad' tears, I was uncontrollably bawling my eyes out! Tissues in hand mopping up my emotions....
I picked up the book this morning & finished it, with more tears as I read page by page to the end.

Im gobsmacked that this book has reached so far into my heart without my realising it.
Im still torn up atm.

The ending, yes, it made sense, it was dramatic & you didnt see it coming.
It went against the traditional endings where the heroes get to live happily ever after... but I guess in this story I wanted that sooooo badly for Tris & Tobias.
Of anyone, THEY deserved it, they NEEDED it. I needed it!
Im not what you would call a 'crier' when it comes to stories, movies or books, not at all. And this 'crying over a book', is a first for me!
But this series did it to me. Im stunned

Cheryl Brunner | 1 comments Okay, so this seems to be a major plot hole to me. Who developed the death serum? Erudite or the Bureau? It seems that if the Bureau developed it, they HAVE to be the ones who created the stockpile that Evelyn found. Evelyn finding the stockpile is what caused the Bureau to reason that they needed to use the memory serum on Chicago. Why doesn't Tris care that the Bureau put this there in the first place?

Also, why does Tobias want to inject himself with memory serum at the end when he inoculated himself against it before he went back into Chicago to talk to Evelyn and Uriah's family?

message 10: by Alicia (new)

Alicia | 28 comments Tobias wanted to inject himself with the memory serum to erase all the memories he had of Tris. He was really depressed and for a while couldn't even go look at her body. That's why he's alone in his room debating whether or not to inject himself. I think when Christina comes in and convinced him that Tris wouldn't have wanted that, he put it down. At least that's what I got out of it.

Lindsay | 1 comments I sobbed. Just a bit...but I didn't think Allegiant overall was that good. Like more than just the ending, it wasn't the best.
