DragonDreamer ARTHUR

Name: Arthur James Michaelson
Gender: Male
Age: 20
» Birthday: December 21
College: University of Southern California (USC)
» Major: Film and Television Production
» Minor: Business
Appearance:
Description: Arthur is a kind soul. He is the kind of gentleman that makes sure the lady always gets home safe and the kind of friend that will listen to you express your unsettling thoughts at two in the morning even though he is tired and has an exam the following day. Arthur can sometimes too often put others’ needs before his own. In high school, he had been known to be a bit of a pushover, but since college he has been working on being more assertive and forthcoming with his own needs. Arthur’s looks have changed as well since he left high school. When he graduated, he was about 50 lbs. overweight, his red hair fell to his shoulders in ridiculous curls, and he had very bad acne. Now, he stands at approximately six foot two, his acne cleared up and he lost a lot of weight, which is partially due to a smoking addiction that started the summer before college began (He has since tried to quit, but occasionally has a cigarette when he is really anxious or stressed). His hair is still the same bright shade of red, which match his pale complexion and dark green eyes well. His face and body is hopelessly covered in freckles, which he is a bit self conscious about since he used to be teased about it(he was never bullied, but he was a lot more sensitive in high school). His frame is thin, but slightly toned. Since he has tried to quit smoking, he has taken up going to the gym to try and better his health. He is no athlete, though, to be sure. His voice is a medium pitch that is a bit scratchy (from the smoking) and gentle, but not so soft that it is difficult for others to hear him. The first impression most people get from Arthur is that he is a polite, soft-spoken guy with kind, but worrisome eyes. Although Arthur is generally very good-natured and of a good temper, he can often lack confidence and he is almost always stressed or worrying about something. It’s hard for him just live in the moment and be happy when his mind is plagued by troubling thoughts. He finds his artistic outlet, film, helpful to release his stress by putting his thoughts onto paper.
Background: As before mentioned, Arthur didn’t have a particularly memorable experience in high school. He was a shy, quiet pushover and theater geek. That being said, he spent a lot of his time working on small projects and eventually submitted one of his videos to USC to apply to their performing arts college. He had not been an excellent student in regular subjects such as math and science, though he did fairly well in English. His talents lied in production and theater. He didn’t act, but we worked with the tech crew, working on lighting and costumes and set pieces for productions. After graduation, Arthur took up smoking, his parents divorced, and he started working on his assertiveness (not necessarily in that order). The smoking began partially due to peer pressure and partially due to stress (about school and the financial issues that would soon arise). It was unrelated to the divorcing of his parents, which he wasn’t upset about. His parents fought a lot during high school, so it was more of a relief than a tragedy. He has a good relationship with both of his parents. By the time he started college, Arthur had lost about thirty pounds He made a lot of connections and friends within his department, and was doing relatively well. He enjoyed all of his classes his freshman year, and even got to visit Hollywood with some of his classmates to overlook the work being done for movies coming out and television shows being produced. At the beginning of his sophomore year in college, his friends and family had convinced him to try and stop smoking (for financial and health reasons) At this time he was about ten pounds underweight and very wiry. It was difficult to fight his addiction, but with a lot of help and support, he was able to cut down his abuse significantly. He has a job on campus talking with applicants and future applicants to the performing arts college. At the end of his sophomore year, he applied to work at The Sandwich Shop over the summer, his health was rapidly improving, and he very much looked forward to going home for the summer break. He applied to work on set with directors of movies in production during his junior year and is currently waiting to hear back from them.
Relations:
» Mary Margaret Paulson - Mary is forty eight and owns a flowershop in town. She is Arthur's mother.
» Gregory Samuel Michaelson - Gregory is Arthur's father and is a teacher at the local high school. He teaches English and is forty five years old.
Other: Arthur still smokes occasionally, about a pack a month. He is a virgin, though he has kissed a few girls. Half of the girls he kissed were for theater, though. He never attended prom (He got bronchitis and was too sick to go), but he didn't mind much because he can't dance very well. He kissed a guy once (During a college party and he was drunk. Long story short, he is still heterosexual for sure). He can play the piano a bit. He started taking lessons once he started college.

DragonDreamer ARI

Name: Ariella Grace Pynes
Gender: Female
Age: 20
» Birthday: August 3
College: University of San Francisco
» Major: Nursing
» Minor: Dance
Appearance:
Description: Ariella is a very average kind of girl. She is not a sweet Suzie that smiles and befriends everyone with her shy, endearing mannerisms. Nor is she an incredibly outgoing and adventurous individual. Ariella is polite enough to everyone she meets and enjoys some good fun every now and then. She has a good temper, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t go off the handle a little too soon at times. Ariella has a very practical mindset and focuses most of her time on school and studying rather than socializing. This is due to the fact that she is taking science classes that are very demanding. They probably wouldn’t be so demanding if Ariella was better at science. She struggles a lot in her classes, which is why she studies a lot of her time. Without having a lot of time for friends, she has had a lot of difficulty developing more solid relationships. All her friends at school she knows well enough to talk to and have superficial conversation, but never enough to develop something substantial. Thus, when she is down in the dumps and needs to talk to someone, she usually calls her mother or brother. As far as appearances go, Ariella is rather pretty (not supermegafoxyawesomehot but she has her own charms). She has Auburn colored hair that favors the color brown but in the right light looks very much red and it falls to her lower back. Her skin is a tanned olive color and her eyes are a dark stormy gray. Her voice is a medium to low pitch with an alto’s range. She stands five feet six inches tall. Her build is thin and very toned. Her legs are rather muscular because of her training in pointe ballet. She does pointe ballet and contemporary dance and has a strong passion for it. Most days, Ariella wears clothes geared towards comfort. For example, jeans and a shirt, leggings and an oversized shirt, ballet flats or flip flops, yoga pants, etc. Her hair is usually down, but if she wants it out of the way she will throw it up in a ballet bun. One’s first impression of Ariella would be that she is a pretty girl, a bit studious, but overall very average. When they see her dance, however, they see a special girl with a lot of talent and passion. Ariella loves dance so much that she made it her minor. She would have majored in it, but her parents really wanted her to have something practical to fall back on since a dance career could only last so long and didn’t pay well. In high school, Ariella was of pseudo-popular status, having a lot of friends that were actually very popular in school and consequentially, she got invited to a lot of events. Up until towards the end of her junior year she was a big partier. Her senior year was really focused on her schooling and grades.
Background: One might notice that Ari’s brother, Ezekiel, is twenty six years old and his parents are both forty five, meaning that Ezekiel was born when his parents were only nineteen. It was an unplanned pregnancy, though Penny and Job were always very much in love. Around the time they got pregnant, Job recently got a job at the local firehouse and Penny had started going to school to become a nurse. When they found out about the baby, their world was turned upside down. Penny didn’t consider an abortion because it went against her religion and values. Job believed that having the baby or not was Penny’s choice and he would support her decision no matter what it was. The first years were difficult. They had a quickie wedding, moved into the cheapest apartment they could manage, and put whatever money they could into daycare and babysitters. Their parents did not support their keeping the child, so Job and Penny had to rely on help from friends and whatever money they could make from jobs. Once Penny graduated from school (luckily her parents still paid her tuition for college) life became much easier with handling the baby. By the time Ezekiel was six, Penny had a stable job at the hospital and Job was comfortable at the fire station (he also ran a food blog on the side) they decided that they wanted to have another baby. They moved out of their tiny apartment and into a manageable single story house. They were overjoyed when Ari was born. Almost as soon as Ari started walking, she started to dance. Penny still claims that she started dancing in her womb because she kicked so much. As soon as they could, they put her in a ballet class. Even as a child, Ari commanded the attention of everyone in the room quite literally. If one of her parents or brother turned away to look at their phone for even a minute she would yell at them to watch her. Ari had a happy, average childhood. She went to public school, made friends with boys and girls her age, did averagely in school. In high school she started doing pointe ballet and contemporary dance lessons. She had friends and boyfriends come and go. She went to parties, made stupid, irrational choices, and sometimes made some good ones as well. She was a bit of a partyer most of high school, running on the outskirts of the popular crowd. She would get drunk and dance and stay the night many nights. Some nights though, she knew when she should just stay home and watch a movie. One night, at a friends party, some drunk kid set the house on fire. Ari was a bit tipsy and was locked in a closet with a boy because they were playing seven minutes in heaven. Problem was, when the fire alarm went off, all the kids ran and Ari and the boy were stuck in the closet. Her father broke her and the boy out. Needless to say she was grounded for a very long time and her father was severely disappointed in her. After that, Ari cleaned up her act and started to be a more diligent student, bringing her grades up, and applying to be a Nursing major for colleges. She wasn’t allowed to have a boyfriend and she wasn’t allowed to be friends with the popular kids that were a bad influence on her. Continuing on to college, Ari tries to avoid going to parties and people that seem like bad news. Aside from the trauma of being locked inside a burning building, disappointing her family to such a degree was one of her lowest moments. She wants to redeem herself in their eyes and feel like she can make them proud again.
Relations:
» Job Burton Pynes - Job is Ari's father. He is forty five and works as a fire captain at the local fire station.
» Penny Louise Pynes - Penny is Ari's mother. She is forty five and is a nurse at the local hospital.
» Ezekiel Harold Pynes - Ezekiel is Ari's brother. He is twenty six. He has a B.S. in Kinesiology and received his Masters in Occupational Therapy. He works at the local hospital and occasionally visits Ari at The Sandwich Shop.
Other: Ari loves her father, but since the incident, she feels like she has to redeem herself to him the most, so she never wants to call him if she has problems. She loves animals. She never has candles in the room. Ever. She likes making jewelry, so often times the jewelry she is wearing is something she made herself. Sometimes she sells things she's made when she needs money.
