Emily Just finished a recent Ngugi wa Thiong'o-- The Wizard of the Crow. I absolutely loved it. I've read a couple of his other books, but would really like to get Devil on the Cross. Isn't that the one that he wrote on a roll of toilet paper while jailed for his political beliefs?

I'm putting the Wagari Maathai book on my list too. I have the children's book.

Pauline McGonagle (paulinemc) | 21 comments Thanks for those. Friend in Kenya for 9 months now and has a new baby so will either have had little time to read or will have found some interesting books! Will feed back.

Kevin (thekevin) | 2 comments I'm almost positive Devil on the Cross is the one he wrote on toilet paper. I read it a few years ago and absolutely loved it. I would totally recommend it.

Rachel (mimbza) | 89 comments Unbowed by Wangari Maathai Unbowed is a memoir by Kenyan environmental activist and politician Wangari Maathai, the first African woman to win the Nobel prize; a powerful story of struggle, bravery and determination. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ here is my review
