Lila smiled, rolling her eyes slightly but agreed to go to the park. They rode and she watched the buildings and studying the billboards so she could remember where the park was located just in case she'd like to come back. She had been to several parks with several guys but she was not about to tell Jared that. Though Jared was the senior cock type that probably slept around as well maybe all she was to him was just another girl. And since she was new she was an easy target, right? Not that it bothered her that much... She had done the same thing to so many other guys In Florida.
Finally they arrived at the park, and Jared hopped out of his car immediately, but maintained his eyes on Lila. He licked his lips slowly, it was almost as if he could taste Lily's cherry lip gloss from earlier. He didn't like it one bit and he made himself stop. Jared couldn't believe the events of the day, and here he was, skipping school and ditching classes. With a beautiful girl he had offered to help, and had flirted with as well. And he had stalked her, in addition to meet her only a little while ago. But he didn't care about any of this currently.
Lila got out of the car after Jared and smiled at him. "So, Jared. Why did you bring me to the park?" She asked him. "Of all places, I mean," she added taking a look around. The park was like any park. Just in LA and of course that made it better. And then there is the fact that their was this incessantly handsome guy right in front of her that wouldn't stop looking at her. She pretended not to notice, only because she liked it.
Jared shrugged. "I don't know, it's a pretty nice, peaceful place. Quiet, I like it quiet." He told her, before realizing what he was saying. He sounded like some deranged killer, basically saying he liked it quiet, so no one could hear her screams... But Jared wasn't like that at all, and he hoped she knew that. He was just a little dark, after living in his brother's shadow for such a long time. He couldn't believe his luck, here he was, skipping class and ditching school with a beautiful girl.
Lila nodded slowly, studying him closely like she had done so many time since the first time they met. She had a hard time figuring out who he was. She could normally find out what kind of person a guy is within minutes. Broken family or broken hatred over some girl or a player, just like her. But some how she couldn't figure out who Jared was. Maybe that's why she hoped in a car with a complete stranger. "What do you like to do here then?" She asked him. He was the cliche jock type in her mind. Maybe he was just a player.
Lila sure asked a lot of questions. Not that he minded, much. Jared scratched an itch at the top of his head, moving to sit down on the grass of the park, a small grassy hill, to be exact. He patted the spot next to him, motioning for Lila to sit as well. "I usually think. Clear my thoughts." He shrugged, not mentioning that he also thought about his past too. Jared was a little worried that it was weird of him to come here to think, but he hoped she wouldn't think so. What did she expect, him to come here to make out? No, he preferred to make out in cars, thank you very much.
Lila nodded, taking up his offer and sitting next to him in the grass. "I like to go up in high places to think." She said. "I've always lived in house's that were over sized with ten room's when we only need two. When I had a lot on my mind I'd go up to the highest point in the house." She said. She never knew why, she just liked it when it was quiet and there was a lot of room. No one could bother her when she was up so high.
"I like to go anywhere quiet without my family to think." He nodded carefully, leaning back and laying down on the grass. Jared brought his arms back, propping his head up in his hands. He stared up at her, blinking slowly. They were friends, right? And friends could behave like this. Jared like wide open spaces, where no one could come and bother him. He also liked public places, so the park was perfect. He liked places where people couldn't make a scene or do anything bad.
"What do you like to think bout when you're here?" Lila asked him suddenly realizing how many questions she was asking. "I'm sorry." She said quickly biting her lip. "I'm not normally so..." She trailed off looking back at the grass in front of her and picking it out of the ground. "... I don't mean to invade your personal life like this... I'm just curious." She told him, smiling as she tore a piece of grass in half. "I kind of like to get to know the people that follow me home." She teased.
Jared chuckled softly, reaching a hand up to run it through his tousled dirty blonde hair. He squinted in the sunlight, his brown eyes sparkling. "It's okay. Just my past. Everything that has happened in my life. My family. My life." He shrugged once again, sitting up and sliding closer to Lila so their thighs touched. "What do you like to think about?" He arched an attractive brow, his eyes bright. This had to be one of the first times he was really getting to know a girl. And he felt so special, being probably the first guy she had gotten to know in Los Angeles.
Lila smiled again, maybe he wasn't just your cliche jock. He was actually asking questions! "I don't know." She shrugged. "My mom and my dad mostly, I guess." Wow, and she was actually answering them. She looked at him again. She suddenly realized that he might ask about her mom and she felt er heart beat speed up. She would usually tell people that he mom just left or maybe that she died in a car accented when she was little so she never really knew her. But Jared had something about him and she felt like she could talk to him. That probably wasn't a good thing.
Jared understood, and he wasn't going to press her for more questions about her family. Just like she respected that he didn't want anymore questions asked about his family. He wanted to make more conversation before it got awkward as well. It was amazing how many priorities he had right now for once. "What do you like to do in your spare time?" He asked quietly, absently reaching a hand up to place it on her arm. What was he doing? This was crazy, it was insane. Jared couldn't believe any of this was happening, him actually having a regular conversation with someone.
"I write." Lila said, without having to think about it. "I'm going to be a journalist when I get out of high school." She said. It's always been her dream to write for the new's paper or a magazine. She never knew why, maybe it was because she never got the time to know someone and being journalist it would be her job to get to know people. "Or draw, sometimes." She said. "But my drawing is terrible, it's just for fun." She added. Really, she liked to do anything that wouldn't lead her into her mother's or father career. Sitting at an office all day and never having time for their kid's, that's not what she wanted. "You?" She asked him.
Jared listened closely, nodding along with her words. "Soccer. I have quite the talent for soccer." He chuckled softly, combing a hand through his hair yet again. Sitting up, he brought his knees up to his chest, leaning forward and closer to Lila. "Writing is pretty cool. Same with drawing." He smiled, shaking his head to get a couple longer pieces of hair out of his eyes. Jared took a shaky breath before continuing, "It's really cool that we met today. And I do promise I will help you."
Lila smiled at him, shrugging. "I can't do much with drawing, I doubt I will do anything with drawing. But I hope my writing will take me somewhere." She said criss crossing her leg's in front of her. "Soccer, huh?" She asked. "That's pretty cool too. I imagined you more of a basketball boy... Maybe football. I don't know a lot of soccer players." She said. She nodded, agreeing. It was nice to have someone like him to talk to like this.
Jared needed to stop, and start acting more like himself. Right now he was acting like Lance, and that just made him the tiniest bit upset. But he wouldn't allow it to make him angry, there were few things that made him angry these days. The things that did, however, were big things. "I don't know. Soccer players are just as hot and muscled as football players, just to let you know." He smirked, nudging her gently with hid leg, playfully. Jared was getting tired of waiting for things to happen.
Lila grinned. Seemed to be the guy he was at the school when they first met again. "Oh, I don't know about that." She said. "You might just need to prove this to me." She told him leaning closer to him. In the back of her mind she thought about her father and hoped that he wouldn't come home. She was very interested to find out more about soccer players. This soccer player in particular.
"Prove it to you?" Jared arched his eyebrows in question in curiosity. "Did you really just ask me to take off my shirt?" He waggled his eyebrows, chuckling softly. "I promise you, I am way better than any other football of soccer player around." Jared grinned, running a hand down her arm and back to his side teasingly. It was true, Jared loved to work out, so he had abs and amazing biceps. When he was upset, he worked out to express those feelings and use them in a healthy way.
"Are you saying you wont take off your shirt for me?" Lila asked raising an eyebrow. She frowned feeling his hand on her arm but not taking her eye's off of him. "I don't believe you." She said, leaning back and supporting herself with her hands behind her back. "I bet I could find another guy around here that's better. And play's football." She teased running a hand through her hair carefully and biting the side of her cheek and begging to pick t the grass again.
"You mean you seriously want me to take my shirt off in the middle of the park?" Jared snickered before he realized she was serious. This had to be the first time he had been legitimately happy in a long time. Most of the time he just used girls to distract himself, but maybe this time would be different. Maybe, he wasn't making any promises. "Fine." He groaned mockingly, reaching up to pull off his shirt, exposing his taut abdomen and chest. "Since this is what you wanted." Jared chuckled, laying back down on the soft grass.
Lila smiled taking a good long look at his chest and watching him lay back down in the dress. It was true, she always go what she wanted. Sometimes it was just easier then other time's. "It's not like anyone is here. Everyone is at school, like we are suppose to be." Lila noted looking around the empty park. And besides, she had seen plenty of guys walk around shirtless all the time in LA. It's not like it would be un-normal for him to be at the park with out a shirt. And it's not like he should be ashamed at all.
"You're right. I do have the best body at our school, I might as well show it off." He grinned, sitting back up as quickly as he had laid down. "It comes from soccer, and working out." Jared smirked, lifting up an arm to flex one of his biceps. "And from being so incredibly hot." He couldn't believe he was experiencing what it was like to be happy, after such a long time. But he knew it wouldn't last long. Lila was just another girl, a distraction like all the rest. On the other hand, it didn't feel that way right now.
Lila laughed grinning widely at Jared. "Okay, I believe you." She said, finally raising her hand's slightly in surrender. "Soccer players look better than football players." She told him. And you're incredibly hot. She thought to her self staring at him again. "Is soccer the only sport you play?" She asked. Again with the questions Lila! Stop it! What was the matter with her? She wanted to know more. Jared was interesting and she couldn't help but ask so many questions.
Jared chuckled, giving her a soft push playfully with his hand. "Yeah, you should tell that to the guy who's ass I'm planning on kicking later." He smirked, but distantly wondered if he was bringing up the wrong thing. Usually girls didn't like it when you talked about anyone but them. "He's some tantrum throwing football nut." He shrugged, before pausing to answer her next question. "Yeah, soccer is my thing. The rest is too mainstream for me." Like football, and like the boy who's butt he was already plotting to kick.
"Oh, you plan on kicking a football player's ass later?" Lila asked "Just because I sat soccer player's look better does not mean they are stronger. Or better." She said. "But what do I know, right? I'm just a girl." She let her self lay down in the grass, turning on so she lay on her stomach. She supported her self with her elbow's and rested her head in her hand's."I don't do sports." She said. "But I have no problem watching guy's run around a field with a ball." She told him. "Even if I have no idea what's going on."
"Yeah, well this football player didn't respect me for almost no reason." The reason had been because he had been making out with Lily in her car. But that didn't matter it had just been a distraction. And Lily hadn't even been dating the guy back then, at least Jared thought she hadn't been. "You're not just a girl. Girls are just as good as guys, if not better." He said quietly, looking her in the eyes with a sincere nod of his head. Thoughts of the football player and Lily slipped his mind, he was only focused on Lila.
Lila smiled, listening to him talk bout this foot ball player and then about girl's being just as good as guy's. She scoffed, rolling her eye's. "If only all guy's thought like that." She muttered. "Most guy's would agree, I'm just a girl and I don't have a voice in this world." Maybe that was another reason she wanted to be a reporter. She was always ignored most of her life. Her parent's caring more about their job's then their own child and never having good friends in school. Only one's that took advantage of her. She just wanted to be heard.
"Don't say that Lila." Jared told her, his voice quiet and low. Daring to go a little further, he asked huskily, "Who tells you that? If you tell me, I'll add them to the list of people who's asses I need to kick." Indeed, Jared wouldn't mind kicking some more asses that needed it very much. "I think you're just as pretty as me. Maybe a little more." He grinned, nudging her playfully. "And that's a compliment, I don't go telling girls that every day." Here they were, getting along like old friends. And he was happy.
Lila looked up at him, wow... He actually meant it. She opened her mouth, about to ramble on about how all the guy's at her school had told her multiple times and how her dad never let her forget but the shut it, she couldn't say that. She didn't want to whine. Instead, she smiled. "Are you kidding? I am way prettier than you. You do not need to tell me that." She teased smirking and throwing her hair behind her shoulder. She was begging to think this was more then just another guy she was going to hook up with. Lila looked at it in the log run and she actually saw them being friend's. He was just So easy to talk to.
"Mmm..." Jared smiled resting a hand on her thigh. He slid slightly closer to her, staring into her eyes. "If you like me, you should meet my brother. He's way bette than me. Not as much as a man whore as me though." He smirked, chuckling lightly. "Fine, I'll admit it. You're prettier than me when I have a shirt on. But when my shirt is off I win." Jared actually could envision Lila and him being friends, unlike all the other girls he used as distractions. But it was all happening too fast, or maybe not fast enough.
"Is your brother a football player because I kind of a soft spit for football players." Lila said jokingly. "But I also kind have a soft spot for man whores." She said butting her bottom lip. " I guess that means I'm much prettier than you even with your shirt off when I have my shirt off." Lila said smirking. She would not take her shirt off in the middle of the park, of course. maybe of she had a swim suit on under her shirt.)
"He's a football player." Jared scowled with distaste. "Baseball too." He added with a slight nod. "Well then I guess you have a soft spot for both of us, because my brother is no man whore. Football and baseball player, yes. But man whore, no. That's me, already taken, you see." A smirk slipped onto his face at her next words. "You sound pretty confident." He waggled his eyebrows at her, challenging her. But he wasn't really challenging her of course, because there was no way she should take her shirt off in the middle of the park.
Lila smiled at him and nodded. "I guess I'll have to alternate." She teased. Of course, she'd never actually do that... That was just cruel. She looked at him, raising and eyebrow. "I am... Very confident." She said. "There is nothing to be ashamed of... Obviously! I am perfect!" She threw her arm's up in the air, only joking because she, more than anyone, knew that she wasn't perfect. But she did like to make everyone believe that she was. And to act like she was. Someone once said that confidence is the more sexy than look's. Confidence and smart's, which Lila had plenty of both.
Jared nodded, which seemed to be becoming a usual thing for him, even when his usual answer to everything was no. "There is nothing to be ashamed of." He sneered, snickering quietly. Pulling his phone out of his pocket, he looked through his new text messages. One was from Lance, and he erased it instead of opening the message. He didn't need Lance bothering him right now. Not when he was with Lila. "Lila and Lance go together." He smirked, giving her a light nudge with his arm. "Your names both start with L."
Lila smiled, rolling on her back and resting her hands on her stomach, folded together and looking at the sky. Of course there was things to be unconfident about, she just covered them up well or, like he screwed up family, she never told anyone. Confidence wasn't always being confident about your body or the clothes you wear... Just being proud of who you are... And Lila was anything but proud. "That's so lame." Lila mused rolling her eyes. "Just because our names both start with L does not mean anything. The only think between J and L is K. We're not so far apart if we are looking at it that way." She told him.
Jared watched her, stealing one last glance down her body. Was it so wrong that he wanted her? Laying down next to her, he rested his head next to her own, so they were lightly touching. He squinted in the sunlight, watching the clouds move. This was how you spend a day ditching school. "Well then, we just have go find someone who's name begins with a K, and then there will be nothing between us." Jared chuckled at his own joke, and how stupid it all was. "But if we count the D in you. I mean the D in your name, then we are farther apart." A light rosy color rose to his cheeks at what he had unintentionally implied with his original statement.
Lila laughed along with him folding her hands across her stomachs and starring at the blue sky to make our shapes in the clouds. It was beautiful, and reminded her of Florida. She smiled, turning her head to realize how close they actually were. "Then I guess it's a good thing I don't ever count the D in my name." She whispered. She smiled at him, breathing in his scent. She turned in her side, propping herself up with her elbow to see him better.
"Yeah. I guess so." Jared's lip quirked up in a smile, and he turned on his side to face her as well. They were so close, yet so far away, he felt. "Lila..." He began, his voice soft and his cheek tingling from where her warm breath hit his skin. How could he tell her that this was the first time he had been happy in...forever? "Never mind." Jared whispered quietly, silently cursing himself under his breath. He did not know what he was thinking, it was all so much to take in.
Lila bit her bottom lip and then frowned when he baked down on what he was going to say. "Aw," She stuck out her bottom lip. "Come on... You can't start something and not finish. Don't leave me hanging like this!" She teased. She looked him in the eye's, encouraging him to go on and finish what he was going to say. She felt her heart beating in her chest and was afraid he might hear it as well because of how close they were. It didn't bother her though. The being close part anyway. Her heart beat worried her just a little. But she actually enjoyed being close to Jared. He smelt wonderful and his eye's were beautiful.
Jared had to tell her this, and in the right way. Because he couldn't stand it if she thought badly of him. "Well..." He began, reaching a hand out to cup Lila's cheek. He had dreamed of what her skin would feel like under his touch. She had to have the softest skin in the world. "I'm not usually such a happy guy." He admitted, a slight frown appearing on his face. "This has to be the happiest I've been since I was maybe.." Jared paused, chewing on his lower lip and his eyebrows scrunching up in thought. "Maybe since I didn't live with my parents anymore." Although that hadn't been an extremely pleasant time either.
(( sorry this might be short. At a B-Day party.)) Lila grinned chewing on her bottom lip and feeling her skin go warm where his hand was.
"Well, I feel special for the cause of this happiness." She told him, honestly. It actually felt nice to see him smile. He had An adorable smile. And it made her feel a warm funny feeling in her stomach. "Why are you not happy most of the time? She asked him curiously.
Jared bit down hard on his tongue at her last question. He could take this two ways, and he had to decide now. He could either react harshly, or work his way around it. Jared would have to work his way around it, because there was no way he was being even relatively mean to Lila. "It's complicated..." He trailed off, hoping she would leave it at that. But then again, she was a girl of many questions.
Lila felt something sink inside of her. What was she expecting? She was just some girl he had just met. Some girl. She wasn't just some girl... But to him, of course she was! "I understand." She said, like she would want to explain her home life to him. She didn't even want to explain it to her friends at home. She hated talking about it. Maybe Jared's life was like her's. She shouldn't feel so disappointed. She would never let it show but she did feel disappointed. She smiled at him. "Besides. I like you happy. I'd like to keep you this happy all the time." She told him.
Jared appreciated her understanding, and maybe he could reveal his darkest secrets to her eventually. Eventually. "Just be friends with me all the time and be the amazing person you are." He grinned, reaching out a hand and sticking out his pinkie. "Pinkie promise me you won't leave me." He whispered softly, his voice low and husky. Jared wasn't sure what he was applying with this demand, but it felt like the right thing to do at the time. With his other hand he cupped her cheek, his thumb caressing her soft smooth skin.
Lila nodded, wrapping her pinkie around his and smiled at him. "I, Lil Scott, pinkie promise not to leave you. And I will always be the awesome person I am." She smirked. "But you have to promise that you will not leave me either." She confirmed. She let out a deep breath, having a hard time sitting still like this. Usually she wouldn't have to sit still for so long.
"I, Jared Donovan, pinkie promise not to leave you, Lila Scott." Jared grinned, releasing his hold on her pinkie finger. This was way too serious for him, it felt like they were saying vows and promising themselves to each other. Not that that would be a bad things. He just wasn't sure where they were headed with this. All he knew was that Lila was the only person to make him happy in forever, and he couldn't mess this up. So before he could stop himself, he leaned forward, pressing his lips gently to hers.
Lila grinned and then was taken by surprise with his kiss. But only for a second was she shocked. She smiled into the kiss, leaning in and relaxing up his touch. She reached her arm's up, warping them around his neck. Now, she would gladly sit still. She had decided that if she could stay like this forever, just in the park with Jared, she would. She pulled away from the kiss, and she couldn't help the huge grin that was on her face. "Now, you can't brake that promise." She said. Though she couldn't believe she was saying it.
Jared didn't want to allow the kiss to get too far, but Lila stopped it before he had the guts to. His eyes flickered open and a smile appeared on his face. "Don't worry, I never break my promises." He moved away from Lila, standing up and brushing himself off. "Anyways, I better get going. I have work. I need to go there now actually." Jared reached down a hand, leaning down in an offer to help her up. "I'll see you tomorrow at school?" He asked hopefully, waiting for her reactions.
Lila smiled at Jared and then he got up and she tried not to look too disappointed thought she was... Greatly disappointed. She took his hand, standing in front of him. "Do you always kiss girls and then insist to leave?" She teased. She let out a deep breath. "Fine, you can go to work." She mused. She leaned up on her tip toe's to steal a quick kiss from his lip's one last time before smiling up at him. "See you at school." She repeated. She turned her back begging to walk in the direction of her house.
