Thanks! I'm not alone! But instead I like the fifth, the various and simultaneous stories that finally run into the same story. It's more structured than the previous. But I miss Marvin! :(
He is soooooo sweety and tender! But also Colin is very nice! (not as Marvin, Marvin is the best forever <3)
Yes, it's the robot that Ford meets in the Guide's building, and that he makes happy forever changing its circuits.
Rob wrote: "I forgot that robot! I think I might have to read the series again!"ditto. I tend to forget the stuff from "So long..." and "Mostly Harmless"
He wasn't a "Rain King" he was a "Rain God" since the rain loved him and wanted to be near him. I ride bicycles with a guy who is a "Wind God" since the wind loves him and wants to be in his face. Makes for mult-directional headwinds. UGH.
Ops...I read it in Italian so I didn't know the correct name! Effectively, the translation is "Rain God" :)
I always wonder how things manage to translate figuratively. Literally is fine, but one wonders if some of the "funny" is lost as words change. But since I am firmly monolingual I may never understand completely. Kudos to those of you who speak/read/write more than one language.

I just finished the entire series of the Hitchhikers Guide, and I love it! The only book that I don't like for nothing is the fourth. In my opinion it's not related with the others, it look like a book from a different series. I don't like the new Arthur's "ability" to connect him with other living beings, and I don't understand very well how is happened to the Earth.
Furthermore, I don't understand why create a character (Fenchurch) so links with the main character, with so long and complex story, and make disappear her without a word!
I'm very disappointed by this book, and I so love the rest of the series that I want to know your opinion about it, maybe you can change my mind about this book painting it in a different way!
