Welcome. Gosh we are a silent lot! Just been recommending Hamish Macbeth series on another thread to Lisa. I see you've read them. What's your opinion?

I loved them, Marie! One of my favorite characters. Read them all. My sister in law is our librarian and she always called me when a new one came in and I read it before she put it in the system. But the last one I read was a huge disappointment. I think it might be time to retire Hamish. I see there is a new one out now so we'll give it a go and see what's up now.

Marie Macpherson (goodreadscommarie_macpherson) | 12 comments I see you're reading a Scots Quair Peggy. Sunset Song is one of my all time favourites but I wasn't so keen on the next 2 Cloud Howe and Grey Granite - when Chris seemed to lose her smeddum!

I've finished the first two and am taking a break with other books before getting back to Grey Granite. Chris did seem to lose her umph in Cloud Howe. Almost seemed like a different character. But she was always looking inside and examining the 'different' Chris'. Maybe that is what the author intended. As things happen in life we shift and change. She just lost her fire after the war.
