I find Joseph's comment interesting. He said Thinking is the main theme of 1984. Everything that people think is tracked and it disconnects people from the world. I agree with this statement because in 1984 it is very true that people are limited on what they can do. I also agree with the fact that people can feel disconnected from the world by not thinking. I think Joseph's comment is very thought provoking and you can go on about it for a long time
I find Osyris's comment interesting because he went in depth. He talks about how people often think about their conversations after having them. 1984 is a dystopia where this would be forbidden. Interesting to think about.
After looking at everyone's comments, I've found Joseph comment to be the most interesting. Joseph basically stated thought is the theme of 1984 and how this theme applies to the book. Personally, I was thinking how thought can affect the story, but Joseph applied thought to the whole book. This has me thinking that instead of thinking in detail, I can think more big, more general. Overall, Joseph connected a detail in 1984 to a more bigger idea of how 1984 is created around this concept.
I agree with Kai and Osyris about Joseph comment. It was really intense in a way and just made me have to think about it for a few minutes. And he is right, thats what they are trying to do since all three countries in the book are totalitarian, Big Brother is disconnecting everyone from each other in society so that nothing can happen to bring him down in anyway.
I think Osyris comment was really interesting. He talks about how thought will greatly affect the book and become a major turning point. I agree with this because peoples actions always come from their thoughts.

Find a comment made by a fellow student that you find interesting and provocative. It could be something that you didn't think of, or something that is particularly well written, or something that looks at the question in a way that strikes you as interesting.
DO NOT CUT AND PASTE YOUR FELLOW STUDENT'S COMMENT. Instead, paraphrase your fellow student's comment in your own words (and you should name the student), then explain why this student's comment is interesting or different or striking.
