Riddles discussion

I make a riddle, then eventually someone will answer mine correctly. When that happens, the person that answers correctly will make his own riddle for others to solve and so on. You may not post anything but the answers to the riddle that is currently posted. ((This means you can't make a riddle when the first one is not solved. Please do not use google or any other search engine to help you until there are like 20 answers that are all incorrect.

So the starting riddle is this:

There is a old lady that lives on the 16th floor. Every day, she goes to the elevator and goes down to the lobby to go to work. Then late at night, she comes back, hits the 8th floor, gets out, then walks up 8 flights of stairs. Why doesn't she just go to the 16th floor?

she is short and unless she has an umbrella because of rain, or another person is there, she is too short to reach any button higher than 8. She can use her umbrella to press it, or if there is another person she asks them to press it.

i did not copy it. i searched it then put it in my own words. mainly because i only read the part saying they were short

A man went on a cruise in which they were deserted on an island and his friend died. he had gone to a restaurant. He had ordered a seagull sandwich. He wanted that because it was what they ate on the island. He paid a nice tip and when he went home, he killed himself. Why?

As mod i say that matt should give the answer to the riddle and Vinny will write another riddle.

Sure, the answer is that when they were on the island they were fed the dead people, which they called seagull sandwiches. When he was at the restaurant the seagull sandwich was different so he knew he had eaten people. He did not want to be a cannibal, so he killed himself.
