So does anyone have any reading goals for this year?

I'm pretty sure I didn't meet any of last year's goals, but here goes. Maybe I'll try being a bit less specific this year:

*Read more Hungarian lit from my growing pile
*Read some more appalachian-noir/"grit-lit"
*Read some more Australian classics (at the very least The Watch Tower, maybe Wake In Fright: Text Classics & Picnic at Hanging Rock, hopefully some Gerald Murnane)
*Read Infinite Jest
*Read All About H. Hatterr
*Read Tall Man: The Death of Doomadgee
*Finish Jeff VanderMeer's Ambergris books.

My goals will probably have changed in a matter of weeks, but that's the best I can do!

Oh yeah - and read at least one of the three A.M. Homes books sitting on my shelf.

Thanks for the reminder of how much I failed at last year's goals. I think I'll just repost them as this year's goals.

Hehe. I know. I'm putting my failures down to "shifting priorities".

Richard I'm Dory when it comes to reading goals, "Just keep reading, just keep reading"

No aims, no plans, just read a book a week or fortnight and be mean about the bad ones on the internet

"Dory"? That's a fish isn't it?

Richard Dory - from Finding Nemo, "just keep swimming"

I've seen Nemo many times, I have young kids

Aaaahhhhhhh. I see. I am one of the few people on the planet never to have seen that movie!

Richard And you're a lesser person for it. I can sleep the exact length of it from opening credits to big finish

You might appreciate it, Ruby. It starts off with the family of the main character getting slaughtered en masse, and it still managed to get a 'g' rating.

If it ended there, I'd probably be a happy camper.
*SPLAT* The End.

Athena Shardbearer I want to stay away from New Adult. I read nothing but those last year and it was such a waste. I want to read more fantasy, scifi and just good books.
