In my opinion, the theme in this story is that some friendships are inseparable. On page 185 Marcus says,"There was nothing between us now, except for the line that separates black and white." This action filled, basketball-based book will have you on the edge of your seat for every page of it. Black & White have to look past all the obstacles that they're forced to go up against, but still came out as best friends. But basically this the book is about a white kid named Eddie and a black kid named Marcus that are best friends even through all the adversity they face around their block. They have to struggle to make it, and they basically have to set up their futures by themselves because they know nobody else will for them. I think this is a great book to get engaged to especially if you are the type of person that loves sports. It will be easy for you to relate to.
This book sounds really interesting. I like the fact that the main characters, Eddie and Marcus, are faced with the struggles of being friends even though at this time blacks and whites were suppose to be separated.I also like that it will be easy for me to relate to, so I need to check out this book.
