Emily Ann | 18 comments And this is one of my poems.

The night sky

The stars are cold wrapped in fire
Suns that never tire
Reflects the moon a brilliant silver
Now but a sliver

Through darkness of the ever sky
In its dark the breathing die
And weightless fly through its fold
And see the beauty of the planets untold

Brighter then the sky is dark
Bright pinpricks in the sky are stark

Through it all I feel the beauty
looking up at the dizzying space, I feel steady
I stand on earth but wish to fly
And in the dark blanket of the sky lie

Emily Ann | 18 comments Here is another of my poems, again of the night.

The Beach at Night.

Have you ever stood on the beach at night
Lit only by the starry light
And seen the silver of the moon
Always coming always soon
Reflecting off the shifting water
And feel your chest grow suddenly tighter
And feel the urge to chase the light
To chase the reflection would feel so right

To hear the whisper in your ears
To leave behind all your fears
To splash through the shining ocean
And feel its constant motion
To run and run, why look back
Why when in this light you feel no lack
Of happiness and need not feel
The hardships of life that’s real

Oh to be the shining fish who swim
And flit around on any whim
Or those crabs that watch the shore
They have the ocean and need nothing more

Cause in the end you have to slow
Why not keep running keep going , but no
You have to stop or soon you’ll be gone
Too far on this beach so long
The thought to turn is killing you
After you’d gone so far to

But home is calling
The moon is falling
And the sun will rise
And cut these ties

You look at the moon one last time

A shiver running up your spine

Jαe{Tħe Cøиšυłтıиg Tıмe Hυитeя} That is truly beautiful!

message 11: by Emily Ann (new)

Emily Ann | 18 comments So another poem...it's called Fear.

I hide from fear, that nameless thing
That creeps behind the shadow’s wing
And seeps into the hearts of many
And crushes hope if there is any

I clutch the light for fear of dark
I run from its whisper, its shadowed mark
And cower from the crushing weight
Of that darkened dreaded state

I tremble to feel its clutching grip
To feel it tighten, feel it rip
To always feel the awful dread
To know that I, the darkness fed

Because in the dark its shadows feed
In us, the shadows seed
It’s only desire to survive
To be the only one alive

I hide from this fear, this nameless thing
That creeps behind the shadows wing
And seeps into the hearts of many
And crushes hope if there is any

Emily Ann | 18 comments This poem, A Thousand Shades, Is maybe my favorite that I've made so far, tell me what you think.I love paintings and poetry so...yeah.

Paint me a thousand shades of spring
Of all the things that hum and sing
Paint me a thousand shades of summer
Of too many warm nights and days to number
Paint me a thousand shades of fall
Of burning colors and a birds last call
Paint me a thousand shades of winter
Of crackling fires and snow’s falling whisper

And show me the thousand strokes of a dream
Of the twists and turns of its every seam
Or the thousand strokes of the starlit sky
As seen from the ground where the dreamers lie
Or the thousand strokes caught in the rain
Of beautiful drops on windows, stain
Or a thousand strokes of a slumberer’s leap
Of the last few moments before you sleep

So many colors too many shades
Caught in the waters the mountains the glades
To capture beauty its changing wonder
As quiet as whispers as loud as thunder
And paint it all down on a canvas of leaves
Caught up in a moments sudden breeze

I loved the repetitive in this poem. It really brought out a lot of colors. I have to agree that I like this poem the best out of all your other proems you have posted. I really appreciate poetry a lot so reading your poetry really put a smile on my face.

I really love the way you wrote the last poem! The verses flowed nicely and I loved the way the words were shaped -- like they were almost built to be put into the poem.

WHY AREN'T YOU WRITING ANYMORE!?

message 29: by Emily Ann (new)

Emily Ann | 18 comments Thank you, I love writing but sometimes I just don't for a while. I'll probably write something soon.

Emily Ann | 18 comments Sunset till Morn...hope you like

A breath to waste in one last word
In the darkness that the sunset lured
That moment when the blue is gold
And twine the softest warmth with cold

Through the ever waning light
That mixes in the deepest night
I see the dimming through the branches
Lost amid the sun’s lost ashes

Subtle changes, blue to grey
Pinks and oranges underlay
A gateway to the gaping sky
Silver drops of all you cry

And edge the world in softer hues
My ever intricate, complex muse
And gentle violet color lost
amid disarming light embossed

Islands in the endless space
Set a rather hurried chase
Dancing round to catch their trails
Fill the dark with solar flares

Darker moments grow to morn
The elaborate blanket stained and torn
With now darker pinks and lightest red
Did the hungry sky now fed

Oranges, golds and yellows tinge
Of lightest blue will now fringe
The blue of sea and tears that streak
lit by the brilliant sun at peak

now the vast wide sky I see
Where lonely clouds fly now free

Emily Ann | 18 comments This is called Linger

My legs unfold beneath me
My arms stretch out before
My search is one for beauty
And always so unsure

Moment touches moment
Movement as a sea
A sky that forms a torrent
A pounding sobbing plea

The loneliest of places
A backyard sky full of stars
They form invisible traces
Long and painful scars

My fingers stretch and grow
They trail on broken keys
My ears pick up the echo
Of forgotten melodies

Fall molds into winter
That forms a silent sphere
The cold bites like a splinter
Numb wind whispered in your ear

The warmth that's lost in waking
Confuse the dream with real
The first words sound so blaring
The memory will seal

My pulse is lost in sound
It throbs in and out with the rhythm
In life it fades into background
A constant and beautiful drum

My feet touch earth and I run
As my arms catch the world behind
My face is turned to the sun
I watch day and night entwined

I watch as the time slips away
And I watch your fragile hands
I saw you wish for the world to stay
But I see the worn out strands

The last word's the one you remember
The last look the one that you picture
And you'll sigh when you close the last chapter
And you'll watch from the door where you linger
