A wildflower meadow.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ Lucas stood in the middle of the meadow. As always his camera strap was around his neck and he was gazing through the camera and playing around with the lens to get the focus his wanted. Lucas's camera bag was by his feet with his other lenses and camera stand. He was dressed casually, in a white tee and black jeans with sneakers. Attire that he wouldn't have been caught dead in if he could help it. But his usual suits weren't exactly appropriate for where he was. It only alienated him more. Luckily during the invasion, Lucas had brought his things with him into the school. His parents didn't like the cab they were going to take to the airport so they had called another one to pick them up from the school. Only it never got the chance to come because of the invasion. And Lucas saw hasn't seen his mother or father since. But he had decided not to think too much about that because where ever Mum and Dad were, they were fine. Though he missed their familiar faces. There were none of those here. Lucas longed for a familiar face, though he would never admit it. Even Fay would do. But not even Lucas could wish upon such a horrible fate on such an irritating person. So he kept quiet and to himself. No one was quite sure what to do with Lucas, so he often came to the meadow and toy around with his camera. He didn't take as many pictures as he would have had he were home. But he enjoyed the view from his camera lens. The meadow was his favorite spot on this campsite, as they called it.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay [you know. I would have to think that all the people of WWA (If NK invaded other places as well) were probably all kidnapped for ransom purposes......or they're holding out with like top of the line security.]

There was no deep meaning behind the reason as to why Skyla was here at the meadow. She was here because she wanted to get away from the losers at camp that were all panicking and freaking out. Not to mention Iris was on patrol at that moment, so she didn't have anyone to talk to. Which meant it was perfect to do some interrogating, and boy did Sky have just the right person to question. After all, she had seen one suspicious figure in camp, and from all she knew he wasn't a student at their school. So he had to be either someone's sibling....some weird homeschooled kid.....or he picked one hell of a day to start at a new school. Somehow she couldn't help but think that all of her assumptions were wrong. Which was why she was here. There was no way she was going to be the last to know something about someone. So walking through the meadow, wearing casual jeans and some rock band shirt that had been scrounged up....she approached the guy.

He seemed like money. It wasn't like a scent or anything. Just his appearance. His face held the sharp angles and haughtiness of someone who was rich. Someone who could afford to offend people without it having any effect on his lifestyle. "Hey, that's a nice camera." No need to start off with the hard hitting questions. Might as well state something obvious. But the real reason she felt the need to investigate? Well here was a stranger amongst their camp who always seemed to have a camera on him. North Korean spy anyone?

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ ((I feel like it would be the latter. We've got a couple of bad asses over there. #Alton. :P ))

Lucas had the lens focused so that the center of the frame was completely focused and the rest of the frame was slightly blurred out. Lucas moved his camera up so that the center of the frame was at the position where the meadow seemed to end and the sky began. It could have been a beautiful shot if Lucas had the heart to actually take it. Despite still having two sixty-four gigabyte SD cards, Lucas wanted to make sure every shot he took counted. Not to mention that if others had to go through his camera they wouldn't find much on the camp. He hadn't seen anything word capturing yet. Though the meadow held a lot of potential. Give Lucas a few days and he would present pictures that made the meadow look better photographed than actually being there. He simply had to play around with the lenses and settings till he got a frame to his liking and then find the perfect angle to capture the beauty.

Lucas was pulled from his thoughts as he heard the voice of a young woman from behind. "Thank you." He replied, his accent unique. It was mainly English but there was a hint of Scottish as well for those who played close attention. But most didn't and he was classified with a British accent. He didn't turn to look at her right away, but simply twisted the lens more, making the focus lessen and blur the entire frame. Which gave Lucas an idea. If he blurred out parts of the sky and focused completely on the meadow, particularly the ends of it where it seemed to touch the sky then it would create a sort of endless feel to the photograph. He would need change the lens for that though. Lucas lowered the camera and began to remove the lens.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay [hahaha that's true. Plus Dex? He's so good at charming people? The North Koreans would serve him as their new leader ;) ]

Sky simply watched the guy as he continued to pay attention to his camera rather than turn and look at her. Hmmm....now that was interesting. Skyla wasn't used to being ignored. Especially when she went out of her way to talk to people. Sooooo he's either incredibly snotty.....or he's just completely socially oblivious to everything in life. Hmmm, perhaps Skyla thought too much of herself. And perhaps she simply knew that she was worth the time of others. It didn't really matter, what mattered was getting the secrets out of this strange guy with the camera. So....that meant playing nice. At least for a bit. No one ever got answers with straight up vinegar.

"You picked one lucky school to enroll in. Not to mention one hell of a day to start being a Wolverine." Rather than keep her attention on him like some sort of stalker, Skyla looked down at her shoes, noticing that the lace of her right sneaker was coming undone. Bending down to the ground and re-tying it she continued to speak. "My name is Sky, by the way. Used to be someone of importance at school. Now I'm just a someone." Smiling slightly she stood and turned her attention back on the guy wondering if she would have to play nice for much longer. Being nice was such hard work. How did Roland do it? I mean the guy went from top of the chain to the bottom feeders and he made it look so easy. Like what? How could anyone go from confident and expressing their every opinion and thought to........nice? It blew Skyla's mind. She couldn't imagine going to the bottom of the social standings.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ ((And Blaire? :P So many wonderful charries there.))

Lucas looked through his camera bag for the lens he wanted, carefully placing the one that he had just removed into its proper slot. Lucas was peculiar like that. All his cameras, lenses, and other accessories were organized in a very particular way. Back home he had a whole bookshelf dedicated to his cameras, a separate bookshelf dedicated to the different lenses, and the two shelves over his desk dedicated to his photo albums. It was quite a collection really. Lucas made sure to have an album and portfolio at the ready for particular subjects and even informal trips, vacations as they were called, each with its own designated album. He had his two Winston albums back in his dorm room along with a few extra lenses and one extra camera. Lucas had kept his newest and more delicate lenses with himself, not trusting the school's provided service to bring his things over.

Lucas suppressed a sigh at the girl's comment. If that were the case he would have had to be a bigger idiot than the United States government itself. Honestly, the county was so haughty and pretentious. They thought that simply because they had control over the flow of nuclear technology and similar things that they were invincible. And look where it led them. And him for that matter. If only he had just gone back to Winston without the detour. "Lucas. And I did not enroll in this school. My mother simply wanted to tour her old high school during the business trip." He explained. Normally he wouldn't have said so much, but it didn't really matter what people knew or didn't know at this point. "And before the question comes up, I am not a spy. And if you hadn't come to that conclusion already, with my being an unknown face, with a camera, who happened to come to your school on the day of the invasion, then that's truly disheartening because it would only show idiocy in this ... place of refuge." He said pausing as he thought of the best word to describe where they were.

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay [so true xD]

Skyla smiled slightly, glad that he was at least acknowledging her. But she didn't catch his look of exasperation at her comment about him being a new student. If she had? Well, just because she was popular, didn't mean she didn't have school and country pride. She did. Sky didn't tolerate insults, not unless there was truth behind them. Not opinion. Truth. She was pleased to have gotten an answer out of him so easily and with it she visibly relaxed her shoulders, leaning back on her left foot in a much more relaxed stance. "Oh good. Because playing nice to get information? Majorly blows." With a slight shrug of her shoulders that showed she couldn't care less about his comment she smirked slightly. Her gaze hardening a bit, "There might be idiots at this refuge, but the fact is that everyone here? Is not stuck out there." That was the truth of it. Everyone here? Was here for a reason. Not every wolverine made it here. Those that did? Were made of strong stuff.

"So what are you then? You look too young to be a business man flying about the world and you have the haughty arrogance of some rich boarding school brat." A smile suddenly pulled at her lips, and not a good natured bright smile either. No, Sky's smile was one of almost bitter amusement. "Don't tell me you're from Winston or Kale?" Anyone who had ever looked up boarding schools knew those two. They were the most famous ones. The ones known for taking in the most brats. And apparently Winston? Also known for danger with it's shooting at the school play. Sounded pretty ghetto to her. A private school with shootings? Probably a rehab school in disguise. At least, that was the theory. Truth was that Winston? It had a reputation for turning out gifted students that got ahead in the world. Why? Because mommy and daddy had money so their kids naturally got ahead in life. Who wouldn't get ahead when you had cash to blow through? Talented poor kids? Didn't get crap because their talents got squandered as they went through public education.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ "I'm certainly glad to alleviate you of that, then." Lucas said, actually glad that he did. Her fake sweet and charming tone, however well done it was, really did not suit her. He didn't need to turn and look at her to see that she had relaxed. It just didn't seem in her character that she could even pretend to be a decent and somewhat kinder person. Lucas had met several photocopies of this one girl. More than he would like to admit. At the parties his parents took him to, daughters of other CEO's hoped to use him to understand how his parents' business worked and was so successful. After all, publishing in this day and age was practically dead. And then there were the girls at Winston as well. And now this young woman. He scanned his bag for the lens he wanted. He wasn't quite sure which one that was, quite yet, but he made a list of the pros and cons for each one before settling on the one that suited his needs the most.

Lucas almost raised an eyebrow at her last few comments, but kept the expression of boredom towards her and focus towards his work. It amused him that she thought he was insulting the intelligence at those at her camp. He had simply said that if the thought of him being a spy hadn't occurred to him, then they would be idiots. It really said something about her character and way of thinking. That was an interesting thing about human beings, they all had different interpretations and ways of acknowledging others' comments. And it showed so much about their characters. Lucas loved it, being able to dissect a person. "Son of Richard and Amelia Welsh. Intern to Welsh Publishing Co. Currently studying at Winston Winter Academy." Lucas stated matter of factually. It was a fact and nothing more. Kale? Lucas was never a fan of that school. The students there? Nothing compared to Winston. The two had a bit of a rivalry, you could say.

((This is going to be the RP of references))

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay [Going to be? Already is ;) ]

Of course. He would in an intern to his family's own freaking company. Hell she would've been surprised if he ever had to work a normal day in his life. Kids his age? Most of them had jobs at places like Taco Bell and Sears. Not exactly Interning at top of the market Publishing companies. Which was why she really couldn't help it. Well....she could've. She chose not to. Scoffing at the introduction she couldn't help but shake her head, muttering something under her breath that sounded a lot like 'typical'. I mean, honestly. This kid had it all, no wonder he held his head so high that if it rained he'd probably drown. I mean, Sky held her head pretty high as well, but she knew where she came from and never thought of herself as too good for the world. She was good. But not that good. Her confidence came with a limit....apparently? From what she saw from this boy? His didn't.

"So what? You're just going to flit around here taking photos of things and messing around with your camera?" It was obvious that if that was all he was planning on doing? Well her tone made it clear that she was unimpressed. "You should seriously consider making some friends, Luke. After all, at the rate you're going? No one would care less if you disappeared." It wasn't a threat. Just a simple word of advice. You needed friends at this time, because if this Lucas guy suddenly didn't show up for breakfast? No one would even bat an eye. But if Sky didn't show up for breakfast? Iris would tear down the camp. Everyone here had someone to look out for them...someone to make sure they were around and still alive. This kid? No one. Still, the kid was more interested in his camera than anything Sky had to say. Or so it seemed. Gosh that was annoying. What kind of guy didn't at least give her a glance.....She wasn't used to just being ignored in such a harsh way.

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ ((I never got a notif or even the "new" thing. I am so sorry))

Sᴀᴅɪʏᴀ Lucas practically feel the judgmental look and hear the thoughts that came along with it. Of course it's the family business. Of course he has it all. Probably never has to do a thing in his life. All he probably does is play with that camera. His life is just planned out for him, isn't? Lucas knew all too well. And it never bothered him, because it was partially true. But how was it his fault that he had been blessed to be born to the parents he had? His parents worked hard and they deserved to give their child the best they could. So those comments and thoughts never bothered Lucas. Except for Meredith made him. She was one person he actually liked. They had met at the hotel where she and her father were staying when Lucas went on the business trip to buy her father's company, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. She was supposed to come to Winston this year. It was part of the negotiations. Meredith's father would sell the company if the Welsh's would pay for his daughter's tuition to a good school and college. Now his parents were business people, but that didn't mean that they were horrible people. They knew the value of education and said yes. But not as a charity case. They had looked over Meredith's previous education and said that it should be looked at as a scholarship, preventing Meredith's family from the shame of simply taking money and becoming a charity case. If there was one person Lucas missed, it was Meredith.

But the girl had a point. He would have to do something at the camp. Even though Lucas could care less if the people here noticed him or not, it was important to make allies. And contrary to popular belief, Lucas was not a fan of "sitting on his ass" as some would say. He actually preferred to be working. He was simply figuring out the camp system and how it worked so he would know whom to go to and speak. Lucas had quite the background knowledge on war battles, strategies, strengths and weaknesses of armies. He even had some knowledge of the Koreans and possible reasons why they were here and their goals. Really all it was, was politics. Much like business. He had to assess the strengths and weaknesses of his rival and attach at the weak points till it all fell apart. Not that such a small group of teenagers could take on such an invasion. But enough could be done for survival. "Lucas." Lucas replied, honestly Luke was such a poor excuse of a nickname. So informal and immature. Not that Luca was much better, but his mother was fond of calling him that so he couldn't really argue. "If you could direct me to the person in charge, or someone close then I'll speak with them about what I should do here. I don't enjoy flitting with my camera all day while others work. But thank you for your advice" He said, as he put the lens of his camera and started adjusting its settings.

((True. True. Urgh, I'm falling in love with my own charries again.))

( ˘ ³˘)♥ Jay [that's good xD Sorry I haven't been very active. I'm going to free up Lucas for ya.]

Sky couldn't believe the gall of this guy. Here he was acting as though he had the right to speak to the leaders. Like he was some sort of Jesus-reincarnated that was going to save them all. God if Jesus was anything like this prick? It's no wonder people crucified him. As it was she merely rolled her eyes accompanied by a scoff that escaped from the back of her throat. "Counsul. Not a leader. Don't know where you're from Luke, but we don't do dictatorships. Not even as end of the world kind of crap. Everyone has seen Walking Dead and knows that when you start a dictatorship everything gets screwed over." Shrugging she simply turned and started trekking off through the field back towards the camp. This was pointless. Lucas? He was bothersome. Enough so that all she wanted to do was find Iris and get some humor out of the day.
