Not a bad story. I liked when she was a member of New Warriors. That was a good series and they have her better characterization then when she was hanging out with the X-men.
So it is worth checking out? Any trades in particular? I was only aware of the New Warriors existence - nothing more.
This Firestar story - I had the first issue when it first came out - never read the rest. I was surprised at how sadistic and deplorable Emma Frost was - awesome villain here... and Angelica coming through with some mental well-being is a testament to her character... I really liked this one.

Part of why I've had trouble with 'heroic' Emma, is that she was such a awesome villain. So the transition and everyone forgiving her and taking her on the team feels really forced and wrong.I don't know if the New Warriors have been collected in any trades or as an Essential volume. They should be, as they are quite good.
Can't imagine the back issues are that expensive. You might want to prowl the bins at your local shop and try a couple issues.
@ Travis - thanks - I'll check some out. Night Thrasher seemed like a cool character to check out too.
@ Scott - There was the horse Butter Rum.. is that what you meant? Yeah -that was aweful.

Exactly!

No I found the book in a printed digest-size book - it covers the 4 issue miniseries from 1986(?).
Do you know the character?

Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends. I loved that show. The episode with Firestar's origin is burned into my brain... and this book is similar to it, but of course more involved and more sinister.
She was created for the show, then made her first comic book appearance in X-Men # 193 which was the first X-Men comic that I read. I was a fan from that point on...

Will see if I find anything.
The one with Chameleon taking on the Spider-Friends, Cap, Namor and who else? There were seven of them..?
