The theme of this book is "to trust no one". Throughout this book, there are constant acts of deception, so the main character "Cassie", is very cautious. I especially like the way the author (Yancey's) writes the book, which emphasizes the senses, and makes it very interesting to read. The overall plot of the book is set in actually close to the current time, about 50-100 years off. This story is based on an alien invasion, and all of their devious ways of trying to kill off the human race. In the end, when all the characters that it was all ogre, another threat arises to cause more havoc. Overall, this science fiction book was very enjoyable, and unique. However, one unfortunate thing to this book is that it's the 5th in the sequel, and I haven't read the other pre-sequels.
This type of book really catches my attention. As you expressed that the book is about an alien invasion I got more excited to hear about it, and now I want to read it. However I will start off with the first book and so forth so I can get the whole details that are put throughout the books.
Sounds like an awesome book. Going to check it out since you mentioned alien invasion and how different things are trying to kill off the human race.
From your tone of this review, I can tell that you enjoyed reading this book and that it has an interesting story. I bet it might have even included some plot twists inside it. Sometimes reading books like these really make you question yourself that if an alien race comes to attack us, would we survive?
