The Jane Austen Book Club discussion

What a dumb book. It's so incompetent on so many levels: muddled characaterization, aimless plot, vulgar language, moronic dialogue. Author is incapable of writing a paragraph of more than a few sentences. Author cannot keep the location of action/scenes clear. They bring in a man just to put him down. She give us a little sex, but with the insight of a twelve year old. After 25 pages, I was lost, bored, resentful and wanted my money back.

I thought the book was more Austen less Drama. I didn't like it either!

This is one case where I think the movie was actually better than the book.

Well it gives hope to some pathetic writers that their books may be published if this load of drivel was. That's the only positive thing I can find to say about it.
