So I've had a look at how some other groups work and come up with a structure for how we can do it. Here goes!

1. We will nominate two months in advance to give people a chance to get hold of the book in whichever way they choose. This means in February we will be nominating our April read.

2. We will nominate in the first week of every month. Once that week is up the poll with the selected books will be listed for one week. You will all receive a group message to remind you to vote, with the link to the poll included.

3. We are aiming for diversity in this group so are hoping to not read books from the same country/ethnicity twice in one year. For that reason at the start of each nomination thread the previously read books will be listed, along with their country of origin. Please DO NOT nominate books from these countries as they will not be counted.

4. Each person can only nominate one book each month - otherwise it will just get too crazy!

5. In order for a book to be put in the poll at least two people have to second it. For example if someone voted for Snow Country by Yasunari Kawabata then in order for it to be included in the poll two people would have to comment saying "I second the nomination for Snow Country".

6. Each person can only second one book. So that means you get one nomination and one second. Obviously you can't second your own nomination - that would be silly.

7. If you second one book then change your mind because you'd rather second a different one, then just delete your first comment. The votes won't be counted until the end of the week so whatever stands on the last day is what counts.

8. A maximum of 7 book will be allowed in each poll. So even if a book has already been seconded twice it's still worth you seconding it again.

9. Everyone MUST link the book in their nomination just so it's easier for people to find it. If you're unsure how to do that just ask :)

10. You cannot nominate the second or later book in a series.

I think that's everything - sorry it's not very concise! I'm new at this :)

Colleen (toughandtender) One more!

10. Please check ahead of time that the book you are going to nominate is available in most countries. I accidentally nominated a book last month that isn't yet available in the UK, so it was obviously left out of the voting.
