Lily rolled her shoulders back, approaching the main office. She was like a mare in heat, looking for her new mate. Without Kegan, she was sure she would find another guy. After all, there was plenty of fish in the sea. Attempting to clear her thoughts of her ex-lover, she focused on other things. Like what she was wearing for example. Today, Lillian was dressed in one of her favorite mini skirts, accompanied with a white crop top. Honestly, Lily could care less about school dress code, and her hair was piled up in a bun atop her head. Entering the office, she grasped her injured arm with one hand. Why had she been going to the office in the first place?
Lily glanced over at Elana briefly, before turning her attention to the assistant principal. "I need a pass for gym, because obviously I can't participate." She told her with a roll of her eyes, having remembered what she was here for. Then shifting her attention back to Elana, she smirked. "Yes, I do like the decor actually, that's why I'm here all the time." She said mockingly, shaking her head in disgust. It wasn't disgust at Elana, but disgust of the office, and she hoped Elana didn't take it that way. Lily didn't like having enemies, only allies. And she could use a good friend like Elana in the war against Kegan, her ex.
Lily took a liking to Elana from the start, with her smart ass comments, she would make the perfect friend for Lily. Not waiting for the staff to respond, she turned to face Elana. "No, if you want, I'll tell you all the dirty little details when we go out for drinks." A devious grin slipped onto her face, and she gave Elana a nod of approval. "When would you like to go?" She asked casually, feeling the need to spill the details of her and Kegan's break-up to anyone not her sister as soon as possible. Scanning her eyes over the rest of the administrative staff, she grabbed onto Elana's arm abruptly, leading her out of the office. "We should go somewhere else to talk." She hissed quietly, trying to keep her voice low. Skipping school, or at least some classes, would be good for her, she thought.
Lily watched Elana, her eyes wide, letting out a small laugh in response to the principal's murderous glare. She listener to everything she had to say intently, and slowly linked her arm through hers. "Seriously, like why weren't we friends before this?" She urged, a wry smile tugging at her lips. "Let's go somewhere now, I'll tell you all about Kegan, ands we'll find me a replacement. Maybe I can hook you up with a guy I know too." Lily exclaimed, squeezing the girl's arm with anticipation and excitement. "Where to?" She asked casually, twirling a strand of hair around her finger.
Nathaniel had blazed through the day with no idea what was happening in his classes, his day having been a massive blur. All he could think about was sayor, sayor, sayor. Her absence filled him with desperation and agony. Life just wasnt the same without sayor, and now he was an awful person because he couldn't see past her death. Everything he saw reminded him of her, espeacially the bulletin board overloaded with pictures, notes, and other miscellaneous items as a tribute to the deceased student. After the incident with Sabrina, he couldn't stand anybody anymore, the pity and disturbance in the air. Like people were afraid of him. Having felt immensely unstable during lunch, he had come to the office to sit for a while and clear his mind in the hallway in the office, sitting curled up on the bench. Tears streamed down his face, his mind in a lost state.
An obnoxious squeaking filled his ears, causing Nathan to break slightly from his trance to glance over at some girl he'd never seen before. She seemed distraught, distracted by an awful thought. Just like him. Nathan's thoughts were interrupted, his name being called softly and with tenderness to the desk where his counselor and another staff member stood with sympathetic looks. That was all he got now a days, instead of a nice hug and reassurance that things would be okay, that sayor was happy now. "Nathan, honey... How are you feeling? I know things are tough, but..." The woman droned on, Nathan's tear stained face unchanging. He easily towered over the short lady, despite his hunched shoulders. His beanie was tugged down on his head, his fists balked inside his sweatpants pockets. "Stay as long as you need," she offered, gesturing to the chairs. The bench he had just been sitting on was now occupied by a trio of troublemakers, awaiting the principals office. Nathan nodded sullenly, his hollow pale cheeks making him seem like a different person all together. And maybe he was. Nathan plopped down silently beside the squeaky shoes girl, staring straight ahead at the opposite wall with a blank expression.
Nathaniel had one of his usual daily breakdowns, this time for the second time that day. It started off as blank thoughts, an opportunity to dwell on his memories. Sayor, of course was the only thing that occupied his mind. Tears flowed rapidly down his pink face, his blue eyes glazed over with misery and pain as he clutched his fists tightly in his lap. Swallowing, Nathan leaned forward with his arms resting on his thighs. A sob escaped his lips, them another. Soon his whole body was quivering as he weeped into his arms, mourning for his lost beloved. His only. Nathan cried carelessly, feeling bitter and lonely, angry at sayor for leaving him. She could if at least taken him with her. The office ladies looked at Nathan with concern, bewildered at what to do as the sixteen year old cried loudly in their office, the troublemakers snickering.
A sharp witty voice beside him recognized as the girl from earlier spoke up, the faint laughs that were echoing around the office ceasing. Nathaniel looked up through his blurry eyelashes, hiccuping miserably. He was glad that she had stood up for him, that at least someone cared about him. Nathan's arm tensed as she grabbed his hand, guiding him outside into the hallways, only to duck into a dark spacious janitors closet, smelling of cleaning supplies. Nathaniel had stumbled on his footsteps along the way, his crying returning when he remembered why he was so upset in the first place. Nathan clung to her arm, willing it to be Sayors. He missed her so badly, he was afraid he would do something drastic to be with sayor again. Why had this girl helped him? Was she going to comfort him? Why?
Nathan's head began to pound again from crying so extensively, his face hot from is tears. When Nathaniel finally had the courage to look up into the girls eyes, he saw that they were two different colors. He let his troubled breathing slow, his face leaning ino the girls hands as she stroked his cheeks. Who was she? He felt wrong for letting any other girl be around him, but he was tired of being alone and miserable. He at least wanted a shoulder to cry on. After minutes of nothing but Nathan's subsiding sobbing breaths, he finally parted his chapped lips to speak. "Who... Are you...?" He asked softly, his blue eyes gazing into both of hers. Such unusual eyes... Such unusual character. He was beginning to think her alien.
"Meg..." He repeated softly under his breath. He saw her eyes change momentarily, obviously her thoughts clouding her emptions. When meg began to cry silently, however, Nathan was alarmed. What had he done? "Are you okay...?" His coice croaked, echoing around the small janitor closet illuminated by a single flickering light. Nathan was glad for the distraction, to move the attention away from him so he wouldn't have to think about sayor. Her small hands had released his face, dangling by her sides. What could hve possibly trigger her to be so upset? He would have taken Meg's hands comfortingly, if it weren't for the feelings of betrayal that filled his thoughts.
Nathan shook his head stubbornly, staring at Meg's eyes. He knew that look, the look that told that everything in fact was not okay. He had been dojng the same thing that whole two weeks. "You can tell me, you'll feel better," he suggested gently, sniffling up his own tears. It was nice to be able to focus on someone other than himself's pain, to listen to what other people had to say for once. His misery the past weeks had nearly drove him off the edge, thoughts of suicide and not wanting to live without his sayor too much to bear. He was annoyed that he had even been expected to come to shook today. "Was it something I did?" He added curiously.
Nathan quickly wiped the tears as they fell, his eyes darkening in concern as the tears plopped faster, her body trembling. Meg grabbed his shirt and Nathan immediately felt violated, and tensed when he hugged him. No. No, he couldn't be hugging another girl in a janitors closet! Just as he was about to push her away again, her sobs broke through to him as she embraced him, her warm body shaking with each cry she let out. Nathan slid his arms around her waist gently, apologizing to sayor and promising her that it didnt mean anything. He rubbed her back soothingly, his own tears falling as he bit his lip. Her parents. It could only mean one thing, the second thing he haddreaded most. "Your parents what, meg...?" He prompted, rocking her body gently.
Gone. Nathan's stomach plummeted at the word, sympathizing with meg as anothe sob sounded. To his surprise, it was his own. They cried in each others arms, pourin out all they've been keeping in for who knew how long. Nathaniel clutched her tightly, his fingers tangling in her blonde hair the same way they had in Sayors. The memory of her lips on his, er laugh, her shampoo- it was all too much. Nath broke down completely, utterly destroyed. "She's g-gone too-" he gasped between sobs, unable I control himself as his tears soaked her shoulder.
When Nathan had finally been able to curb his emotions ten minutes later, with his sobs diminishing to the hiccuping gasping thing, he kept his head resting on Meg's shoulder. They had nth cried enough to fill an ocean, their tears soaked into their clothes or gathered in little puddles on the floor. Nathaniel tugged his beanie down on his head without removing his arms from around Meg's torso, her warm arms giving him much needed comfort. The hallways were loud with kids slamming lockers, the chaos of after lunch moving into the very hallway. They could t be caught. Nathaniel straightened himself, wiping his tears with whatever dry part of his shirt was left, feeling overly warm in his gray sweatpants and black beanie. He didnt know what to say to meg, unable to fid words to speak as he gazed up into her strange eyes. "We should... We-we should take a walk," he suggested quietly, the closet stuffy from their breathing.
Nathan sniffled again, before slowly opening the closet as the bells rang throughout the campus. Nobody was in the hallway; they were safe. "Come on," he whispered, ushering meg from the closet. The cool fall breeze felt good on his swollen eyelids, his eyes itchy from having cried so badly. He walked aimlessly in the hallway with meg, reminded of all the times he had even with sayor in this very hallway. Accidentally dropping her books by the water fountain, kissing her gently in front of her history class before the bell rang. Nathan tore his eyes away, hugging himself. Where were they even going?
Nathan rounded the corner, hearing footsteps before he saw the source. A force collided with him, causing Nathan's body to fly back into the lockers as Adrian barelled by. Nathan shrieked in pain, feeling his head collide with the metal. "Watch it, Harrison!" He snapped, picking up the suspicious Baggie he stiffed into his pockets. "We're you... Crying? Oh my god Nathan, you're weaker than I thought," he snarled nastily, offering a hand to Nathan: he took it suspiciously, only to have his hand twisted behind his back. Adrian hadnt noticed the girl off the side as he tormented Nathan.
Nathan felt his face grow bright red in embarrassment in front of Meg. Shed see how really weak he was, that he was helpless. Tears had streamed effortlessly down his cheeks, his body laying crumpled on the ground with a bloody nose, and a strained shoulder muscle, as well as a few bruises from their wrestling. He shielded his face when Adrian had been knocked off, presumably only to come back with an even more powerful hit. When he didnt, Nathaniel peeked between his arms to see Adrian running in fear while clutching his stomach, with meg standing above him. "M-meg..!" He sobbed, hugging her leg helplessly.
Nathan didnt speak, too embarrassed and relieved and pained to do much. Why was everything going so downhill for him lately? What had he done wrong? When he had finally calmed enough, Nathan's watery blue yes met hers, his wet eyelashes blinking up at her. "Thanks," he whispered softly, hiccuping slightly. He needed to man up more, but with everything going on, he just seemed to not be able to. Nathan awkwardly released her leg, sliding gingerly across the floor to retrieve his black beanie. Sayors favorite one, that shed always steal off his head. He closed his eyes momentarily, before sliding the beanie over his unkempt hair. "What's that?" He questioned gently at a small package by megs feet.
Nathaniel's eyes met Meg's, a different sense of panic overcoming him. What was in it...? He gingerly opened the bag, an odd smell over washing him. Of course. Weed. Adrian was a pot head. "We better get this to the office...!" He said shakily, his heart pounding. Growing up innocent, he had never touched drugs before. He was eager toget it out of his hands as soon as possible. "Meg...?" He questioned at her widened eyes. There had to be something else. He stood, zipping the bag slowly.
"Come on, we've gotta go turn these in," he repeated softly, reaching for Meg's hand. She had gone absolutely white with fear, and he began to have his suspicions. Maybe she was a goody two shoes too, and had never seen drugsbefore. "Megan, are you okay?" He asked finally, starting slowly down the hall. He held the bag tightly in one hand, afraid to be caught and accused with the bag. Should he tell the office that it was Adrian/? They could probably tell already, seeing as adriannwas a big troublemaker. He still had to get tissues for his bloody nose.
((And sorry my paragraphs are crappy, can't focus and ie been working on an essay these past few days))Nathan walked uncertainly with meg, wondering what had gotten her so shaken up. She didnt hesitate to best up Adrian and defend Nathan, but yet she seemed to be as If she saw a ghost. He figured that if she wasnt in tears, she was okay. Both swollen eyed and tear stained, Nathaniel walked side by side meg down the hallways, letting the cool breeze run through his hair. The office came into view, where he had been an hour or so earlier. He swallowed, opening the door with his drug free hand. "Uh..." He murmured shyly, setting the bg on the table. The lady at the desk nearly screamed, staring at the Baggie, then to meg, then to Nathaniel. "What is this? Please go sit down, we need to handle this," she murmured, before calling the principal as well as Nathan's counselor, and the campus police officer before Nathan could explain.
Nathan opened his mouth several times to speak, only to e cut off each time. The lady wouldn't hear it, giving meg suspiscious glances. She searched something on the computer, a quick glance proving it was Meg's student file. The lady murmured under her breath, shaking her head as he glanced at meg then the drugs. Not again. Nathaniel sat beside meg, panicking. Maybe they should have just thrown the bag away. "Meg..?" He murmured. "What're they gonna do to us? We were being truant, AND we have drugs...!" He whispered.
Nathaniel looked down to their touching hands, before glancing up at Megan. Why had she changed so quickly? He could of sworn she was bipolar when she began sobbing, her chest expanding rapidly. Nathan was about to go up to help her, when the lady at the desk handed meg her inhaler. What was going on? Drugs in her system? Had the lady expected that it was mg who took te drugs, instead of him? How did they know each other? Was meg a trouble girl? Although it didnt seem like it, Nathan wanted an explanation to grasp to for the odd situation. "Are you okay?" He whispered, finally standing when mrs Angie left.
Nathan's face deepened with worry, his hands outstretched to assist Meg in walking, to stabilize herself. What was going on? What was Meg's medical condition? He didn want to go to the hospital, ever again. "M-'meg, sit down, you'll-" Nathaniel was cut off when he shrieked, Meg's body collapsing in an awkward heap on te floor of the office. No. No no no. Why did it seem to be tha everyone he was around... Died? "Megan!" He screeched, falling to his knees beside her blonde head. "Meg, please-!" He began to cry, trembling violently. It was the same look sayor had had, in her coffin.((Whoa! What happened??))
