I saw a book online a while back (6 months ago? not sure)and I'd like to look into it more and decide if I want to read it. The book is fairly recent, I THINK. I remember the plot is about a young boy killing a bird, perhaps with a slingshot, and then when he is an adult, he is visited by a mysterious man because of the wrongdoing he did in killing the bird. Then the main character may have to make up for his past deed by doing something (can't remember what) which involves the mysterious man. Thank you for any help! :)

This probably isn't it as the details don't totally fit, but the part about killing birds reminds me of the book Wringer by Jerry Spinelli. Good luck finding for your book :]

Sorry, Lobstergirl - it was Bellman and Black. Not sure if I want to read it though.
