GROUP 28
Giovanni, much as I like to see such enthusiasm, you haven't even sorted out exchanging books for G27 yet!!! I'll let you know if we are lacking an extra member for this group, but give other members a chance here first please.
Hello Jay,I'm very sure I could read and review two books every three weeks from now until May, but I'm not sure if you like or encourage people to join consecutive review groups. Whatever you decide is good for me... just letting you know "Barkis is willing."

Both you and Giovanni want membership here too - I'll give you a decision on Friday when I know what the demand has been from other members.

Hi Allie - it's been a while. How are sales of Game Show these days? I certainly enjoyed it so I reckon 4 group members are in for a treat if their taste in literature is anything like mine.

We sure do have a place for you :)

That's a fair list of books you have there - should be something to suit your 4 reviewers :)

Hi Hock - which book do you want reviewed? Or are you leaving the choice open?
Giovanni and Phil - it looks like you'll be out of luck with this one. I reckon we'd better make it the rule that you have to at least started a group before you join another, just to give others a chance (G27 doesn't start until the w/e). I'll reserve 2 places in the next one for you.

I haven't reviewed anything by Nicholas, as far as I'm aware.
A different Samuel reviewed The Necromancer's Gambit(one of mine) a few groups back. Disclosure, though, I did review Hock's play, and Allie Cresswell has reviewed one of my short story collections.

I'll make sure Hock doesn't review your work, and you don't review Allie's.

You just made it, Rubin :)
We now have 10 members and the group is complete.I'll sort out the who/what/when asap. As I'll be posting it tonight or tomorrow, you'll have a few extra days to get sorted with book swaps before the official start date of 01 Feb, but you can get started as soon as you like.

Excellent, now I won't have to be completely glued to watching Review Rounds thread and can work on reading and reviewing. Thank you!

START DATE: 01 February 2014
END DATE: 26 April 2014
Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you don’t think you can manage to do 4 book reviews between these dates please let me know now. I will find someone else for this group and you will be able to choose a later group that will be more suitable for you. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.
It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. When the file is received, please post a GR link to the book in this thread so that the author has confirmation that reviewing of the correct book has started.
There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines. All reviews must be posted by 29 June 2013.
When you have posted your review on GR please post a link to your review in this thread.
All reviews of 3, 4 or 5 stars must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.
If the rating is 1 or 2 stars, the review must be posted to GR but the author should be asked if they want the review to go to Amazon or not.
Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.
In the next post are the listings for the 4 review rounds, the who reviews who stuff. You don’t have to put forward the same book for every round, but you can only ask for one review per round.
Happy reviewing, everyone :)
If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap. Member Links

Preference is for Kindle. Will suffer .pdf if necessary.
If you have a Smashwords coupon, please send me a GR PM including this.
If not, send me a PM and we'll work something out. Jay has warned us about issuing email addresses, see below.
Also, to those reading my novel, I have either sent you a PM with the Smashwords code, or in Rubin's case, the manuscript.
Thanks
Brenda
A quick note about email addresses - you might want to read this:https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
and then edit the posts above...
I've sent personal messages to my four reviewers. For people reviewing me, most of my books have graphic adult scenes, if this bothers you I advise you to pick https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...Happy to provide PDF, mobi and e.pub
Jay.Sorry, but I don't quite understand the following - or how to do it:
"When the file is received, please post a GR link to the book in this thread so that the author has confirmation that reviewing of the correct book has started."
Please advise.
Brenda
Posting book links:When you type a message you'll see just above the window you're typing in
add book/author
link - just click it, search fro the book title and you'll see there are options to add a link which displays as the cover or the just the book title link.
After reviewing, adding the review link:
It's much simpler than it sounds. When you have a window open showing the review you've just posted on GR, copy the link from the address bar at the top. Then come back to the group thread and post a new message telling everyone you've just done your round xx review and paste the link so we can toddle off and have a look if we want.
Have a look at the previous group thread and you'll see the kind of things members post and how you can follow the link to the review itself.
Don't forget you'll also need to copy/paste your review to Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk
thank you :)
Hi Chuck, started on your book, but it isn't the one on Goodreads. You'll need to add it (Message from the mountain) so I can post a review.
Roger,Could you PM me so I can send you my E-mail address please? Your profile won't let me send a message.
Checking in. This is the book I'd like reviewed--
I can send a kindle version if you have an U.S. Amazon account; just PM me the email linked to that account.
If not, I'll send you a Smashword coupon - they have practically all formats.

Hi Brenda,
What is meant is that you should post your review and then post a link to the review here under Review Group 28.
To Post a review, go to the book in GR, click on the number of stars you wish to award it and the page will give you the option to write a review. This prompt will appear just above the stars.
When you are completed with the review, you will see that the address bar has a unique address for your review--copy that into a post in Round 28.
Best wishes,
Thanks, everyone, you seem to be settling down well ;)I'll stay around until the w/e then hand you over to Anne, your moderator for the life of the group. If you have problems try and help each other. If you're still stuck ask Anne for help.
You've actually got another moderator with you here, but I'm sure Hock would appreciate being left in peace to read and review in this group. He's doing his mod duty for another group.
Gosh things have moved on quickly. In round 4 I am down to be reviewed by Hock but I have reviewed his work in a previous group so this might be considered a reciprocal situation.. For the record I have also reviewed Nicholas in another review forum..
Ah, missed that one, Allie. OK, then, I'll find another reviewer for round 4 for you - an easy round for you, Hock :) It'll save messing about at this stage.
Roger, I don't see a message option on your author page. Please PM me with your email address so I can send you the file for my book.
Roger, it's not giving me the option to PM you, to give you my email. When you're ready for me to read your work, you can either PM me a coupon code and link, or email the file itself to NicWilson.Writer@gmail.com.I've already been in touch with Brenda and Hock, and messaged Samuel. So I'm well on my way to receiving all of my books for review.
Thanks for shifting things around, Jay. I haven't been back to the thread in a few days, so I missed that round 4 had that repeat.

When you add your book link it not only indicates you want to join the group – it indicates you AGREE that you are WILLING TO REVIEW ANY ALLOCATED BOOK within the set 12 week limit.
There is no genre filtering.
If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference. Here you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults’/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.
Let’s be honest here – we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
