Book-a-book of the Month Club discussion

Some people have begin reading already so I thought I would go ahead and start us off with another "first impressions" topic. How did you feel about the book after the first sentence, first paragraph, first chapter? What do you expect the rest of the story to be like?

I am finding the flow of this book really nice. I am enjoying the story so far just fearful that it may disappoint, hope not, it hasn't yet!

It was a good sorta typical YA start. I was surprised, because I thought (view spoiler)[ that the times frame set up during the prologue would be the same time frame for the book, so when chapter one started years later, it took me a few pages to get situated (hide spoiler)]

I am not opposed to a book starting off with a YA feel - that's what you expect from John Green and other authors of the genre.

This is on my "To Be Read Soon" pile. I have read almost all of his other books and am looking forward to the movie.

I just read a quote where he was asked to compare The Fault in Our Stars to this. He said "The Fault in Our Stars rips your heart out and this gives you hope."

When I read this, I was in the middle of a John Green binge - I did like this one, but I think I got worn out on Mr. Green around this point.

I did listen to Will Grayson, Will Grayson a few months later - it was pretty good!
