The Robin Hobb Collection discussion

The first round of questions was last night and Robin gave some great answers. She really comes across as both intelligent and wise with a subdued but good sense of humor. But of course people who read her books already knew that. :p

My favourite answer so far, is to the question how she sees social media impacting her writing:

Social media sucks up my writing time like a kid with a straw and a coke! I acquired the Office Kat and immediately threw her at social media hoping it would eat her and leave me alone to write. It did. For a while. Even now she is in the next room, shouting statistics at me. So I closed the office door. It's too scary to know how many people are following this, or how many Twitter followers we are gaining every hour! So now I am adding three more minions, because I think Social Media can only be appeased by a constant trickle of human sacrifices.

Must be twice as bad (or more) for authors, than little ol' me.

Since I've joined goodreads and Facebook and etc...
the last couple of years, I've much less reading time and many more books to read.
