Jonathan (nathandjoe) | 89 comments There is a whole load of books on this, and Derrida has written much on Joyce.

Found this online, which is an interesting read:

Gregsamsa | 50 comments I've read a shitload of Derrida (which translates into 12 shitloads of regular reading) and I did not know this. It strikes me as strange, as The Wake is so oral, and orality seems to be something largely missing from Jacques' texty s(h)elf.

Thanks!

Nathan "N.R." Gaddis (nathannrgaddis) | 414 comments Distractions distractions. Damn. Jelliss of the Derrida load of shit you've encountered.

But, let me sumanize :: Finnegans Wake is written orality ; it's already befuddled and bemired and besmirched and deféray'd ; orality stuck in the mud with a hen pecking at it, so to say. And when one asks about wrotting, I'd still like to bask in the phusical presance of the complete Buffalo Notebooks. Ay=yi=yi.

Gregsamsa | 50 comments Well I will have to look into this. One thing that frustrates me no end is Senor D's texts NEVER have indices and I don't care what fancy reasons are behind that sometimes you NEED an index.
