R&R, or Read and Review, is a free program here at TPT which allows readers to receive a free book in exchange for an honest review, similar to an ARC. If you are an author and are interested in participating in this program, please view this thread.
Each week, a moderator will post 3-4 new R&R books, depending upon demand. Members will be invited to request any R&R book(s) that interest them. Many authors will be giving out a limited number of copies, so the program will function on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore, we recommend that you request any R&R books that appeal to you as soon as possible, instead of waiting until the last minute. Authors will inform us as to which ebook formats they can provide us with. Specific information regarding book formats will be posted in each particular request thread because it varies depending upon the book.
Upon receiving a R&R book, you will have 3 weeks to read it and post an honest review here on Goodreads, Amazon, a blog, etc. Different authors request that reviews are posted on different sites; all of that information will be posted in the initial R&R request thread. You must post a review for any R&R books that you receive, unless you rated a book 1 or 2 stars and do not feel that you can incorporate both positive and negative aspects of the book into your review. If an author tries to remove a negative review that you have written, please PM myself or another moderator and we will handle the situation appropriately. We would like to keep the group as drama-free as possible.
Now, on to the review itself. Our only guideline is that your review must be a minimum of 100 words (which is fairly short - approximately 1 paragraph) and must consist of something above and beyond "I liked this book. It was really good. I liked it a lot. Go read it." This does not prove that you actually read the book. Authors are also not giving out free copies of their books to receive reviews like that. They're looking for feedback and constructive criticism, as well as trying to entice others to read their book. Therefore, try to be as descriptive as possible in your review, referencing specific moments, characters, settings, etc. throughout the book.
After you have written your review, please post a link to your review in the initial request thread for that particular book. While there will be no one holding a knife to your throat, ensuring that you write a review, the moderators will be checking to see who is actually writing their promised reviews. Members who fail to write 1 review will receive a warning from a moderator, reminding them to do so. Members who commit a second offense will receive a PM from a moderator, asking them not to request any additional R&R books or participate in challenges, giveaways, Monthly Reads, Series Reads, Buddy Reads, etc. until they have written their reviews; any further R&R requests from that member will be deleted without notice. A third offense will result in the permanent removal of a member from the group.
All that we ask on behalf of readers is that you do NOT share any free copies of books with others that you receive through the R&R program. This is common courtesy regarding any free book that you receive for review, and we would like to uphold that policy here at TPT. Along the same lines, do not ask another member to send you their R&R copy of a book if you were unable to receive one. Such behavior could result in deletion from the group.
Lastly, each member who completes a book and posts a review will receive 30 TPT Points. These will also be counted toward your team's score. All points will be awarded once you have posted the link to your review in the initial request thread.
