Prophetic Gifts

Yes. I believe that prophetic gifts still exist. I don't believe there are modern prophets. But, I do believe people are given prophetic words of encouragement.
Back when my mom was a single mom with my oldest sister, someone prophesied over my sister that three gifts were coming. A few years later my mom married my dad, and then they had my oldest brother, and then me. Three gifts.
At my church they have a prophesy mic. People talk to one of the pastors, and then during worship they share their sense from the Lord.

No, we all have a good idea of what your standing is, and I don't think Jennifer would appreciate us debating it, if you read her comment above.

Don't get what? Prophetic gifts?

Why not? Prophetic gifts are very real even today.

So... What are your thoughts on the prophetic? Do you "move" in these gifts, or are you unsure whether they are still active in the Church? Has God really touched your life with the prophetic (that you are aware of)?
A couple of books I highly recommend on the subject (there's a lot, but I'll narrow it down to two for now):
You May All Prophesy! Practical Guidelines for Prophetic Ministry by Steve Thompson
Spirit Talk by Larry Randolph
