Any Ideas?
I know I'm going to do a contest every month or so with either a poem, short story or something else. Sometimes it'll have themes, other times it won't.

Maybe the contests could be monthly and would correspond to the monthly reading section. Example: April's book is 'The Fault in Our Stars' so the challenge could be to write something from a character's point of view (a poem, story, Hazel's book report, etc.) or something relevant such as a newspaper article or a drawing of one of the characters.I don't know if that falls too close to 'fan fiction' or if that's even a problem.
That would be fan fiction. I like the idea, but if you haven't read the book yet (like I haven't read The Fault in Our Stars), it wouldn't really be possible to write something from a character's POV. Also, some people aren't good at getting into the POV of a character that isn't theirs. I sometimes have trouble with it myself.
But it is a good idea.

I think that you should do seasonal poems/month poems that relate to the month. You could also do death/love poems, those are easier for most people
