Welcome to the Writer's Cafe! Below is a brief overview of what our group has to offer. We hope you find what you're looking for - and if you don't, then please ask!
- Group stories Group stories are a middle ground between roleplaying and co-authoring. Basically, what happens is that someone creates a character and then starts a story from that character's point of view. Everyone else then creates their own character and adds on to the story, building off of what came before. We currently have three group stories going - the Halifax Stone, Fallen Gables, and Jacob's Brood. If you're interested in joining one of our group stories, or have an idea for a new one, send a PM to our group story mod Dana.
- Writing contests If you like the spirit of competition, then check out our Writing Contests folder. Chances are that there'll be one or more contests going at any given time, and if there isn't, then check back soon - one will probably be showing up.
- Resources A section for struggling and helpful writers alike, you can use this folder to share tips, ask questions, and to generally call upon the knowledge and experience of the group at large.
- Roleplaying We do have a roleplaying section, although so far no one has really taken this section in hand and breathed life into it. Perhaps you are the answer to this...?
- Games/challenges These are located in the "Writing Fun" folder, and include word games and writing prompts. Feel free to add on if you have ideas!
- Advertisements/Offers Pretty much what it sounds like, this section is for people who have something to advertise or offer.
- General writing posts And of course, we've got all of our folders where our members can post their writing for others to read and comment upon. If you don't see a folder that matches your writing's genre, then you can always ask for a new folder to be created through the "Folder Request" thread in the Random folder.
So, jump on in and join in the fun - and remember, if you came here looking for something you don't see, just ask. : )
