I personally love divergent but I would love to hear your opinion. I liked how tris was a strong character but showed more emotion than katniss. Tobias was so much better than peeta and gale together

Out of those two books I would say the hunger games, the hunger games had my intrest more than the divergent series.

This is hard... I would say Divergent.

It`s hard but I would say Divergent. Tobias is way better than Peeta and Gale just doesn`t come into HG very much so you can`t really tell everything about his personality therefore Tobias is better than him also. Katniss and Tris are about equal in my opinion.

This is a dificult one... But I have to say...

Because i couldn't put it down and I also LOVE THG really but I think Divergent it's just better

Hunger Games

I say The Hunger Games, I've loved it for three years now so that added to the completely different storyline just kind of beats Divergent in my eyes :)

I hate how people compare the two, because in my eyes, they're so different. That being said, I personally liked Divergent better, because of the character development and the storyline.

Yeah I do too because they are both great and so different

Yes they are very different I guess it really depends which part you compare

They are both SO different. I liked the whole HG idea. That book is practically a classic lol but I liked Tobias better than Peeta or Gale and I LOVE Peter. With THG theres Finnick though which is a game-changer. Honestly, I think they`re a tie.

I liked both but Divergent wins it to me. It's more developed and I think that I feel like I know the characters better. This is just my opinion

Yeah I disliked the divergent ending very much

I personally like The Hunger Games better. I didn't really understand the main idea and goal of Divergent all though it was well written in many ways. It just wasn't that great in my eyes. I also think it may have been overhyped and that took away from me enjoying the actual story.

I agree with Heather. Divergent had a more developed story line and we DEFINITELY got to know the characters better. I loved everything about it...even it`s ending.

ok so this is probably going to be unpopular. I liked Divergent, but it should have been left as a stand alone book. The two sequels felt like a money grab to me. I especially didn't like the changing viewpoint in the third book. I understand why the author did it, but I kept getting confused as to which character I was with. A changing viewpoint like that should have a totally different voice. a good example is the Red pyramid books by Rick Riordan

I liked the first book as well. I thought it should have ended there.

I think that The Hunger Games book have a better plot line but that the Divergent books are better written.
I have to say that I love Divergent a lot more than The Hunger Games but I still adore thg!

Personally, I would say Divergent. That's also my opinion and honestly it only matters to me. The Hunger Games was great, but Divergent you wanted to figure out what happened. It kept you on a cliff hanger. That's my opinion. Hunger Games was an alright book, but the Divergent series was horrible. I honestly only liked the first. Insurgent was alright, but then Allegiant was just horrible. I loved how she changed the perspectives but it jumped to much and I feel as if she rushed it. They didn't have to cross the wall so early on in the book. As I said though, it's my opinion.

They are bigger but THG was written in 2008, Divergent was written in 2011.

Really? The author was saying in an earlier interveiw when she was confronted a bout this that she was already writing it

Veronica Roth could've been writing it when THG came out/was being written but the actual book never got published until 2011 whereas THG got published in 2008.

I personally would choose the Hunger Games as I did not like Divergent series! Ahh please don't kill me! The first book was alright then it just went completely downhill from there. I wasn't attached to the characters and just ugh, nope sorry didn't like it! Hunger Games is much better!

I really love Divergent because it shows how not every book has a happy ending and it's what got me sucked into books! but I think this conflict about THG and Divergent is stupid as crap. I love both!

I agree with Ella. Thats why I liked Divergent also. I dont think the conflict on which one is better is stupid but I do think that its stupid how everyone thinks that Divergent copied off of THG.

I love both but I liked Divergent better! After I read THG I wanted to read divergent and once I did I was sucked into reading! I also agree with Ella.

Divergent just drew me in more than THG and I liked that Divergent was more realistic. Plus, Peter was a really confusing character so I was always wanting to read more about him and figure out who he was.

I love both series. Katniss and Tris have both really impacted me. But I would have to say The Hunger Games is my favorite. I think Divergent was a great series, and I would definitely read it again, but the sequels are not as good as the first book. Suzanne Collins did a great job with THG, and all of the books are equally good.

Uh, that's a hard decision because i love both series So much but i have to say... The Hunger Games because the characters impacted me since the first time i read them.
And The Hunger Games was the first trilogy that i read and my love to this trilogy is really stronger.

I'm going to have to go with divergent..call me crazy but I couldn't really get into either one but THG was waaaaaay overrated if you ask me

I would say divergent because think of it this way: divergent is the big brother of the hungers games but their different. Divergent is just better. ( if this explanation makes sense).
