Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) A corrupt congressman, a mother’s secrets, and a sizzling romance ignite passion and suspense in the new novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

Cordelia Kane has always been a daddy’s girl—her father raised her alone after her mother died in a car crash when Cordelia was just two years old. So when he has a serious heart attack, Cordelia is devastated, and the emotion is only intensified by the confusion she feels when he reveals the shocking truth about her mother.

Cordelia can’t suppress her curiosity about the woman who gave birth to her, and when she discovers the answers to her questions lie in Sydney, Australia, she travels there to get them.

Hotel magnate Aiden Madison is Cordelia’s best friend’s older brother. He’s oblivious to the fact that she’s had a crush on him for years. When he gets railroaded into taking her along to Sydney on his company jet, he unknowingly puts her life at risk. He’s recently angered a powerful congressman by refusing to purchase overvalued land. Congressman Chambers is not a man to let such an offense slide, and he has the resources to get even and to get what he wants.

In Australia sparks are flying between Cordelia and Aiden, but multiple attempts on Aiden’s life are made while Cordelia is with him, and he realizes he must put a stop to the madness before he loses the thing he values most.

Maribel (itsmemaribel) | 218 comments I've been waiting so long for Cordie's story to be told! I sure hope we get to see more of Aiden's gambling skills.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) looking forward to this one ☺

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments As I was somewhere and totally bored, I popped onto Goodreads on my phone and read the blurb for Fast Track and put it on my TBR list today.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Since today's Australia Day seems cool that we got one in Australia coming ☺

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments can't wait for this book!!!!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I am looking forward to it!

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments I received an advanced copy of this book for an honest review! Fast Track was an amazing book. I promise, I won't spoil it for you! After reading Murder List, I wanted to know if Cordie would get her book too! Like all of Mrs. Garwood's contemporary books, there is action, friendship, a love story and a desire to start the book over again! I read this book in 24 hours.

My only regret is that I read it too soon and have to wait a year for her next book to come out.

Sounds good, Amy. Thanks for weighing in. ☺

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I hate that I have to wait for the paperback!

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments Why do you have to wait for the paperback? Are you in a different country?

My library doesn't have it, yet. But, I'm sure they will.

San Francisco already has it, but I'm not driving all the way up there. They'll eventually get it in eBook format. Or I'll wait for my local library to get it in HC.

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments you have a copy, amy?! wow!!!

message 17: by Amy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments Yes! I signed up for a program called First To Read through Penguin books. It's free and you can read new books for free. They want you talk about them on social media and other sites (hence my post!). Check out www.firsttoread.com. You get an email each me month and can get submitted into a drawing to read books.

Anita (anitanodiva) | 286 comments Amy - Thanks for the tip. I've been on the library wait list since April 1st. Since it is scheduled to be released July 29, I have my fingers crossed that I one of the first on the list.

I looked at the site, and i'm not sure if i can join it...i'm not even from your part of the world.

message 20: by Jewel (new)

Jewel | 350 comments It's also on NetGalley but I couldn't request it because of the country restriction.

I have no idea why some publishers do that, I mean NetGalley sends ebooks so why restrict some books to specific countries!

message 21: by Amy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments Do you have to be a professional of some sort to get chosen to read books on NetGalley? Their site seems a lot more complex.

message 22: by Jewel (new)

Jewel | 350 comments I'm not really a professional, but I do get rejected more than approved, especially for the books I really want.

Also as I mentioned earlier sometimes there is a country restriction on some publications.

Harlequin are good to me though

message 23: by Amy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments I love harlequins too! That makes no sense about the countries.

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments I haven't tried any of those because, it's a bit hard to join those kind of things. I mean i lived in the Philippines, and the shipping fee here is a nightmare.

message 25: by Amy (new) - rated it 4 stars

Amy Pitcher (---amy---) | 47 comments Oh wow. I think I would go with eBooks.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Wow. Am I glad I re-tried Garwood. I remember reading her historicals set in England. But then I stopped when she went to Texas. (Just don't get anything out of those.)

Then, I saw Fast Track at my library and thought it looked pretty good. *pant* *pant* *pant*

Read it in one day, WOW!!! Smokin'! I immediately went back and bought the first in the series Heartbreaker on Kindle/Audible. Can't wait. Have to be pretty good to beat out Aiden/Cordie!

Kirsten (kmcripn) Wish I hadn't returned FAST TRACK - keep on wanting to go back to the really good bits.... LOL!

LOL! Yes, I've done that with library books, too, Kirsten. Great that you enjoyed it so much. I should check what number I am on the waitlist.

Oh! CD came in at the library. Yay!

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) WooHoo! Good to hear, LK!

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments when are we gonna read fast track?

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Questian, we aren't really doing a buddy or group read. You can start whenever is convenient. I finished it a few days ago and enjoyed it.

Kirsten (kmcripn) It was SOOOOOOO GOOOOOOODDDD!!! I can't stop thinking about Aiden!

I think Fast Track (Buchanan-Renard, #12) by Julie Garwood was nominated for the November read, wasn't it?

Phoenix (Online Elf) | 312 comments Mod
Yup. It was. And so far it is this only nomination.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Oops, I didn't wait. lol

You mean you just read it? LOL!

Questian (sakurastrife) | 152 comments @pamela: is it good?

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Yes, I read it and I enjoyed it. But I sort of had to. I got it from the library. I had my name on the list for it and when my turn came up I got it. So anyway it came up before November and I had to read it.

I'm looking to the audio. For some reason, I like JG's Contemporaries on audio better.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Hmmm.... I may have to try the audio sometime. Be a good use for November's free credit at Audible.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Wow. Reading some of the reviews on Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/Fast-Track-Juli...

Don't think those people could possibly have been reading the same book I did.
