was umbridge the worst teacher ever? why?

i think she was the worst i mean the worst kind of person in the world is a stuckup prissy person who thinks they know everything but they really don't

i think she was BAD too. i mean those quills that scared your hand. they must have been horible!

she was horrible. her little cough annoyed me. i agree with everything everyone's said.

I'd say yes. Lockhart ws full of himself, but not harsh or rule making. Quiril, was bad in the end, but well..

was she worse than snape?

I'd say maybe yes probably. I mean Snape picked on Harry, Unbridge would pick on everybody. I'd rather have Snape than Umbridge.

She was DEFINATELY worse than Snape! Snape did pick on Harry, but every time he looked at Harry, he was reminded of Lilly and it was like pouring salt in a wound. Umbringde had no reason to be that terrible,she was just stuck-up and dead sure that she was right, but I also think she might have been easier to deal with than a few of the other annoying teachers, because with Umbridge it would have been like a battle of wills, the way Harry saw it. Unlike the other teachers, she was out to break the students, and that gave them something to fight against. But, I am slightly biased becasue Snape is one of my favorite characters. I would LOVE to take potions with him!! ^.^

Snape is my fav. character too. I agree with Laura-Michal Umbridge was stuck up. But what about other teachers? what do you think of some of the other teachers?

i think there should have been more on professor Sprout. she was totally fun and quirky! did you know she was the head of hufflepuff?

I think Umbridge was a HORRIBLE teacher! She used that horrible quill for detention when she was NOT supposed to, kicked out teachers she didn't like, got into other people's business
(like Hagrid's), she was being a big stuck up acting as if she had all the power, she even used a deadly curse on Harry almost! If Hermonie hadn't thought of something quick, Harry would be in agony! Umbridge also didn't let ANYONE use Dark Art magic! She said that they didn't need it! They didn't need it before but still learned it and now she decided that they shouldn't learn! It's unbelivable! She was just HORRIBLE!

She was so horrible. RULES RULES AND STUPID DUMB RULES.The Ministry tried to take Hogwarts but failed miserably because if Harry's coolness, Hermione smartness, and Ron's weirdness people cannot take Hogwarts without a fight. everyone hates umbridge. that is not even a question. NICE TRY CORNELIUS

well it wasn't Quirrel's fault because Voldemort like controlled him and Lockhart was just a pretty boy and lies. So i don't really think that Quirrel or Lockhart were the worst because Umbridge tortured the kids and that should be like a dementors party to Azkaban. and the stupid pink and the stupid cough and the wait i shouldn't say that

I too rather have Snape because Snape sorta saved Harry, Hermione, and Ron's life right? I mean he used to be a death eater so he is safe with them. If Dumbledore trusts Snape I will trust Snape. Dumbledore never trusted Dolores Umbridge

Umbridge was BAD!!!!!!!!!!! The whole time i was reading about her i wanted 2 get up and throw the book across the room!!!!!!!!!!

She was EEEEEEEEEEEEEVIL! I loved Fred and George in that book though!!!!!!!!! I loved it when they left! I wish they would have elaborated on that in the movie. That was like my fav. part!!!!!

To me, Umbridge seemed mean from the first time she was introduced in the fifth book during Harry's hearing. She voted to convict him, of course, but I Hated that she actually sent the dementors.

She was just a power-hungry jerk. I bet she would have been Voldemort's bff if she thought it would get her somewhere in life...

Yeah I felt really bad for Mrs. Cattermole too. Did it ever say if they got away safely, or did they just not know?

I don't think it really said, but when Ron asked Hermione about it she said they should have been able to escape if Mr. Cattermole had his wits about and transported Mrs. Cattermole using side-along apparition. I don't know because Ron didn't think Mr. Cattermole seemed really clever.

Hm... Well I hope they were safe. I felt bad for them espescially when her 'husband' didn't show up to her trial... :(
