Aaron Rhinehart | 2 comments Hi I had to return a book i was really into before i could finish it because someone else wanted it and i changed schools before i could finish reading it and haven't had the love for reading that I used to have ever since so I am hoping to read this book to relight the spark, so to speak.

It was about a homeless boy, no parents, and he would live in different houses while the owners were away and he became really good at observing signs to know when no one was there. In the book there is a female gang, i think the leader beats him up and leaves him naked. I think at some point he runs into another younger boy and decides to teach the boy how to be as good as him. I think at some point an old man is shot with the main character in the same house and he escapes by jumping out of the window.

Please help!

Aaron Rhinehart | 2 comments i don't remember the cover, but i think it was my sophomore year so it was 2010. I also vaguely remember the main character boy being good at being "unseen" and that was a big deal or something. he knew when the owners of a house were on vacation by checking for clues like calendars, checking their home phone voice mail, and other things like that. i also vaguely remember an old woman taking him in, but i think it was a trick... again it has been a few years so my memory is foggy...

Better description: Kirkus:
Fourteen-year-old Blade (aka Slicky) is a smart homeless kid who gets caught in many wrong places at a lot of wrong times. He's been on the run from the police since he was seven, sneaking into houses and stealing people's wallets to survive. After an attack from a girl gang,(view spoiler)

Aaron, was "Playing Dead" your book? I see that you shelved it on the same day Tab posted.
