Artemis sat against the wall, her red hair was messy and unbrushed. She clutched what looked to be an old stuffed animal close to her chest, as if it was a lifeline. The 7 year old had been in this room on her own for almost a year now, her eyes stayed alert having learned not to let her guard down. Her eyes were wide and distrusting as they moved around the room she knew so well. I just want to go back home The mental plea came once again, although the child had already give up hope of ever returning to her old life.
Vi appeared out of the darkness, her green eyes flashing fierce and bold. There has to be a way out, there's got to be a way out! she thought, scribbling fiercely on her paper, then erasing, then scribbling more. She shook her head to clearer memories- Gracie, her parents- nothing could release them. She had been staring at these dark walls for 3 excruciating years now. Then she noticed another figure; a little girl, looking wary, a bit frightened. She didn't look older than eight. Violet spoke for the first time in a year. "Hi."
Artemis looked up hearing a voice she didn't know, in a second her guard was up and she was ready to defend herself. The child's green eyes locked onto Vi, carefully watching her ever movement.
Vi steadied herself. This girl was in here for a reason. She couldn't be locked up in here and not learn to defend herself. "I know. You're wary. I'm not with them, okay? I hate them as much as you do. I've been locked up in here for three years."
It would be nice to have a friend, and she doesn't look to much older then Eli Artemis thought, her eyes not moving but her guard lowered slightly. Artemis stood up, moving more into the light, her red hair flashing. "Who are you?" The girls voice was quiet, from her lack of use. Even before going missing, Artemis was never a very talkative child.
Vi slowly smiled. "Vi. What's your name?" she asked softly. Violet knew how anxious some people could be. The girl reminded her of her sister Gracie, even if they didn't look much alike at all.
"Artemis" The 7 year old answered quietly, her tight grip on the stuffed bear in her arms loosening somewhat. She never let the toy out of her sight, as it was the last thing her parents gave her before going missing.
Vi's eyes flittered to the bear. Probably a keepsake, the last thing she had. Like Vi's own paper. "I don't have a teddy bear, but I have this," she said, holding out her paper. "It's my plan. I haven't figured it out yet, Artemis, but I'm close. We'll get out of here." she assured her.
Artemis's eyes filled with a hope that had gone out months ago. "Really?" She asked quietly, looking at the piece of paper.
Violet nodded, deadly serious. "Really. Now, how long have you been in here, Artemis?" she inquired. Violet hadn't seen anyone, or at least anyone who would talk to her, in years. Artemis might be their only chance.
Artemis looked down slightly, her grip tight again on the stuffed animal. "A year" She answered, her voice barely above a whisper.
Artemis shrugged, unable to answer as she had been sleeping when they took her. She woke up one morning in this room, confused and scared, with only the teddy bear.
Violet bit her lip. "Never mind. Have you seen anyone or talked to anyone since you got here, besides me?"
Artemis shook her head, the only company the little redhead had had for the last year was the teddy bear in her arms.
Akira slowly stumbles in, having light blood running from her head, but her gaze was emotionless and she showed no sign of knowing of or even caring about the wound.
((I think now that there are 3 of us, we should have an order. If you guys are okay with it maybe Maddie, Me, and Lucy))
Artemis shook her head again, before pointing to a locked door "Food appears in front of there each morning" She told her, before turning her untrusting gaze to Akira.
((oh.. i thought you meant rp wise..))Akira glares up at the girls, her stare cold yet emotionless before she walks over slowly, sitting against a wall far away.
Artemis looked down, the glare Akira gave her frightened the young child. Her grip tightened on the stuffed bear, almost as if she expected to be hit or yelled at.
Akira gives a small nod to them in reply, staring down now. She was always quiet, it was weird but.. relaxing..
Thorn leaned against the wall. He examined everything around him. 'There must be a way out.' He thought. He looked at how many people there were, the texture of the wall, he even sniffed the air for a sign of smoke that could narrow down the places.
((Order is Me, Lucy, Megan))
Artemis looked up slightly at Thorn, before she looked down at her stuffed bear.
Artemis looked up slightly at Thorn, before she looked down at her stuffed bear.
((alright))Akira sighs, whiping drips of blood from the wound on her head before looking over at Thorn slowly.
((okay))Thorn's eyes narrowed as he saw some kids looking at him. One had a stuffed bear, the other had blood dripping off her head. He took a step forward, unsure if the girl would run away in fear.
Artemis sat against the wall, where she had been when the others all started showing up. The 7 year old wasn't really enjoying the fact that there was a lot of people in the room.
Megan wrote: "((okay))Thorn's eyes narrowed as he saw some kids looking at him. One had a stuffed bear, the other had blood dripping off her head. He took a step forward, unsure if the girl would run away in f..."
((the girl? you mean Artemis right?))
Akira keeps a steady gaze on the boy as she watches. The room seemed dark, but she could still perfectly see.
((Oops. Sorry. I meant to say Artemis.))Thorn walked up to the little girl. "That's a nice teddy bear." He said. "How are you feeling?" He asked. 'I wonder how long she's been here?' He thought.
Artemis looked at Thorn, pulled the bear closer. "I wanna go home" She whispered, her green eyes locking on Thorn.
((its ok XD just making sure))Akira watches still before darting her bright silver eyes over to the door. She seemed tensed, but her gaze was still emotionless for the time being.
Thorn slowly and hesitantly asked, "Well, where is your home?" He opened up his arms in case the girl wanted a hug.
Artemis shrugged, she wasn't sure. Back with her parents, she never really left the lab or had a need to know her address.
Akira sighs lightly, slowly closing her dizzy eyes. She was used to this treatment, and since the evil people killed the ones close to her, she forced herself to stay away, knowing some day it would happen again.
Thorn thought about something. 'I got here recently and this girl was already here. So she's been through more pain here. Which means she hasn't smiled in a while.' He frowned at the thought. "Do you want to play a game?" He asked.
Artemis looked around at the others for a moment, before pointing at Akira. She saw the blood on the older girl's face, not liking it. She kept on arm around her bear protectively.
Akira didnt really seem to notice, since her eyes were closed and she slowly drew her legs close to her chest, the blood rolling down her head and off of her cheek, but she didnt bother to wipe it this time.
"Oh." He crawled a little closer to the girl who was suffering from a head wound. He wiped the blood that was dripping off her face. "Hey." He whispered, checking if she could still reply.
Artemis watched him go and help Akira, the corners of her mouth tugging upwards slightly in what could almost count as a smile.
Akira lightly jerks up at the feel of a soft hand, she had almost dozed off so she wasnt paying attention to much until now. Her gaze was shaky and somewhat cold, but her eyes showed pain and showed it was just an act (like when an abused animal is just scared and trys acting tough to stay protected) before she slowly looks away, slowly relaxing but still remaining slightly tensed as she whispers,"yes..?"
Thorn looked around for something to help her. He felt a square box in his pocket. 'That's strange.' He thought. 'Didn't they take away our belongings. He remembered what was in it and quickly took it out of the pocket.
Artemis set her bear in her lap, and began to play a little game with it. The peaceful period they were going through was welcomed to the 7 year old redhead.
