Thank you for the invite V.L.
I look forward to meeting everyone in the group & sharing the love of reading & writing!

message 3: by Ambs ❤❤ (last edited Jan 27, 2014 07:49AM) (new)

Ambs ❤❤ (hannonan) Hi there, my name is Amber.
I have too many favorite books to list (it's like picking which body part I want to have removed).
My goal for 2014 is to reach my goals, meet new people, and read good books.
I enjoy these types of groups because of the discussion and opportunity to read books I wouldn't normally choose for myself.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing the group grow :D

message 4: by Lawrence (new)

Lawrence Deering (lawrencerdeering) | 1 comments Thanks for inviting me to the group. I have many favorite books. The Charm School by Nelson DeMille comes to mind. For 2014 I want to read great books and publish my third novel. I like groups that share the books they love. Also. Any marketing/ publishing tips from other authors is always appreciated.

Is your avatar a TARDIS?

Your favorite book - Hard question. Probably The Dark Tower. Or the Big Sleep. Or...
Your number one goal for 2014 - getting around to trying John Sandford
What you look for most when joining a group - Good conversation, no spam.

Amber Forbes (thedancingwriter) | 1 comments Hm...well, I already started a thread, but that one can be deleted in favor of this one.

May name is Amber Skye Forbes. I am the author of When Stars Die
When Stars Die by Amber Forbes , and I am also a super hardcore adult ballet dancer, sometimes going by the moniker of The Dancing Writer, depending on what part of the internet you find me at.

1) In any case, my favorite book is The Fall in Our Stars by John Green.

2) Wow, I have so many #1 goals. To have the sequel to When Stars Die published this year, to have All Shattered Ones done and sent off to my publisher, who will hopefully accept it. Start Grade V (out of VI) at Dance Augusta to get really hardcore with ballet (Possibly 9 hours of dance a week. POSSIBLY). And get hired by Southern Siding so I can earn full commission to make enough money to help me move in with my fiancé when I graduate. I'm currently going through an employment agency who takes half of my commission. I do receive an hourly salary, though.

3) I tend to like small communities because you really get to know everyone. I feel like you can't do that with large writing communities, so they overwhelm me, and while I join them, I tend to not participate in them, unless it's something like AbsoluteWrite, where they have many communities, with regulars in each.

message 11: by Lilian (new)

Lilian (lilianjgardner) | 1 comments Hello all members and thank you V.L. for inviting me to join this group.
I like to vary my reading, choosing books from any genere, but I do enjoy fiction about people in our world, paranormal and children's books, humour, and an exceptional memoir. I like poetry and love the old classics we had on our school sylabus.
I like sharing news about new authors and their books and helping them promote in any way I can.
My goal this year is to complete the sequel to my fiction novel, and publish it before Christmas.
There are heaps and heaps of other goals, favourite books, hobbies, and... dreams. Too much to list!
I think this is sufficient for you to know something about me.
Once more, thanks, and I'll be looking forward for posts from members and sharing views.

message 12: by Fatma (new)

Fatma (roserochester) Hey guys, thanks for the invitation! :)

Your favorite book That's a mean one.^^ I have so maaaany favorite books, that I don't know where to start. Anna Karenina was the longest among my top10, so I'll go with that Russian masterpiece. :)
Your number one goal for 2014 is to be happy. Don't worry about too much stuff, meet new people, have an amazing time - in short everything that makes one happy. :)
What you look for most when joining a group Definitely for people who love books. In RL I don't know many people who are as passionate about books, series, fandoms (I'm a bit of a geek^^) as me so I'm quite alone with my hobbies.

I'm Rose, btw and live in Germany, so sorry if my English seems a bit odd or weird. :)

Thanks and great to meet you!!!

And what I look in a group is to get along with everyone, meet new people and I think that's it!! :P
