So, I've recently noticed that we have now reached 10 members! What's interesting about this apparent "growth" is that I never took much initiative to inviting people to the group. Perhaps if I did put in a marketing effort, we'd have many more members…

With that said, I'd like to introduce myself to our micro community:

My name is Phil, and I am the moderator of this group. I was inspired by many great science books that I have read and studies that I have pursued in university to start a science community here on GoodReads. I am currently finishing my 3rd year of university studies in Psychology and Biomedical Science, with future interests in clinical neuroscience. There are many amazing neuroscience books out there for one to learn more about the field in depth.

Regarding my hobbies, I enjoy reading, writing, hunting, fishing, camping, playing guitar, and watching anime shows and films.

There are many other things I can say about myself, but I'll leave it at that momentarily. I do not expect any instant replies, seeing that we only have 10 members in the group at present, and so hopefully this will spark a discussion on our interests.

Hello, I'm Alasdair. Physics is my main area, having a BA in Natural Sciences and an MSci in Experimental and Theoretical Physics. If you want to be really precise my specialisms included gravitational astrophysics and high resolution electron microscopy.
I am a teacher and lead A-level examiner and have written quite a few revision guides, practice question books and the like. I've even done one popular science book (The Best Bits of Physics - reviews welcome by the way, message me if you want a review copy).

My other interests are caving, climbing, mountaineering and archaeology.

Hi. My name is Nada. I had finished M.Sc in civil engineering. I am very interested in science development. especially in astronomy and physics. I like reading theoretical physics books. I like to discuss ideas about relativity theory and big bang theory. and the concepts that lies behind them. I found that group and I wish to discuss such matters with you .

I Have a double Masters in Forensic Psychology-minor Mental Health and Metaphysical Science (Psychological Energy). Pre-Doctorate in Meridian Energy Fields (Psychological Acupressure)minor abuse,trauma and crisis-Abnormal Behavior. Fascinated with Hyper Physics,Quantum Physics and Dark Field Matter.

It depends on what type of science you’re really interested in. For example, if you love astrophysics, I’d say start with something by Neil Degrasse Tyson, as his writing is for the every-day science lover.

Let me know what your interests are and I could recommend a few authors and books to you.

Hello, I’m Dea (she/her)
I’m a student at university working towards my bachelors in General Biology, with a focus in Microbiology. Research is my main focus and lab work is my jam. Sitting for hours in front of microscopes is like sitting for hours with a good book.

That's awesome! I love microbiology - I was actually debating between microbiology and neuroscience for my master's degree. I ended up going with neuroscience only because more of my undergrad was geared towards that, so I felt I already had a foundation laid out.

But seeing things move under a microscope is fascinating. It's like looking into a new world within our own, and getting to know it better.
