We have mentioned a few of these. Did any of the other awards please or disappoint you?

Kelsey (librarybonanza) | 2 comments I love Ball by Mary Sullivan but I'm a little confused why it received an honor for the Geisel because there is only one word used: ball.

Kristine (kristine_a) | 71 comments thanks for putting this list together Kristen!

Happy to see "The President Has Been Shot!": The Assassination of John F. Kennedy get some recognition. This list does give me more to put in my TBR pile!

Jess (jessmonster) | 80 comments I was excited to see the CSK illustrator award go to Knock Knock: My Dad's Dream for Me - it sounds cliched, but it's such a powerful book.

I thought all the Caldecott honorees were solid - another good year! There were so many fantastic options to choose from.

I also like the Geisel line-up - there was a Mock Geisel that some of my coworkers went to, and they read all of the honorees except Ball, so I'm sure the folks who picked the list will be pleased with the winners!

Sara | 35 comments I'm heartbroken that Mr. Tiger Goes Wild by Peter Brown was not on the Caldecott list. I bought Locomotive for my nephew and Flora and the Flamingo for my niece for Christmas so I have bragging rights regarding those choices.

So glad Navigating Early got a Printz honor; I loved that book.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Eleanor & Park. I urge you all to read it if you haven't.

I checked out Midwinterblood on Saturday from the public library. It is on the SLJ Battle of the Books list. Good thing, as I'm sure there will be lots of requests.

Kristine (kristine_a) | 71 comments Yes, there was a fair amount of overlap with winners and SLJ Battle if the Books selections. I highly recommend going over to SLJ and participating there - it's a lot of fun and it fills up the gap of time before mock clubs gear back up in march and April.
