Target
Sabrina sauntered into Target hoping to find some things for homecoming. She still didn't have a date because she had been hoping that Crew would ask her but she guessed it was too much to ask of him. Sighing, Sabrina stopped at a rack of short, flirty dresses. They weren't really homecoming material but maybe she could by one for everyday apparel. She flipped through them and found her size before continuing down the aisles.
Crew walked into target, his black frame glasses on, a nice flannel shirt, jeans, and sneakers. He hadn't been planning on going to homecoming at all, and hadn't been planning on leaving the house that morning. Hence the glasses. But his aunt needed him to run some errands. He prayed no one saw him. If anyone saw him with these nerdy glasses, his reputation would go down hill. He read the first item on his list. 'Tampons.' Oh lovely. Tampons it is. Crew walked past the dress isle, looking for where the tampons were.
Sabrina glanced up from the rack of dresses she had been looking at, at the sound of footsteps. She dropped the baby blue summer dress she had been holding when she saw Crew advancing in her direction. He was wearing a pair of black frames glasses that she had never seen him wear before. "Crew?" She asked incredulously. She couldn't be sure if it was truly him or not because the Crew she knew would never be caught dead wearing those.
Crew looked up from his list, and realized who he was staring at. Sabrina. Holy heavens. He was doomed. Doomed doomed doomed. Goodbye chances of being quarter back! And getting a girlfriend! "Hey Sabrina." He said with a smile, stopping in front kg her. Of course she almost didn't recognize him. He had never worn these horrid glasses outside of his house.
"It really is you." She said softly. "I didn't know you wore glasses." Which was odd because she knew practically everything about Crew. Ever since her brother first introduced the family to him she had always kept tabs on him. For some reason she was entranced by Crew. That had never happened to her before but she wasn't about to let anyone know that. Not even her friends. If they knew they would think she was crazy. Crew didn't date. He hooked up with girls and then left them after he was done. She didn't have any chance with him.
Crew shrugged, smirking. "The one and only!" He then pushed his glasses up. They always slid down his nose. "I do. Just not anywhere outside of my house. My aunt needed me to run some errands, and I couldn't find my contacts." He admitted, running his fingers through his hair. He thought Sabrina was pretty attractive, and super sweet. Crew didn't want to break her heart. He had a hard time with relationships because of what happened at the end. The heartache. Crew hated that part, so he just stayed away from it all together. Plus, she was his friends little sister. That would be awkward. "That's a cute dress by the way. It'll look good on you." He said, nodding his head at the baby blue dress she had. "You wearing it to homecoming?" He himself wasn't planning on going. But who knows? He could change his mind.
Sabrina raised an eyebrow. "Oh." Was all she said. She needed to get more information. Who knows what there was about Crew that she didn't know. She blushed when he mention the dress. She picked it up from where she had dropped it on the ground and shook her head. "This isn't really homecoming material. Plus I don't even know if I'm going. I don't have a date." She said. She was hoping he would catch the hint but knew it was probably a long shot.
Crew nodded. "Don't tell your brother. I'll never ever hear the end of it." He really wouldn't. They would tease him to no end and his reputation would be over with. His cousin, Heidi said they made him look sexy, but he disagreed. He thought he looked like a nerd, especially since they were always falling down. "No date? Well....I can fix that." He said with a wink. He folded the list up and shoved it in his pocket. Errands could wait. Pretty girl in front of him couldn't. "That ones cute." He said, pointing to a navy blue one on the rack. His favorite color was navy blue. There was something majestic about it that he loved.
Sabrina smirked. "I don't know. I think this is something he would be rather interested in. Plus I don't think they look bad. Pretty cute actually." She said and then her eyes widened. Did she really just say that? Her cheeks reddened but she turned and looked at the dress he had pointed at. It was a navy blue one shoulder shift dress. It was beautiful. Then she caught what else he had said and turned back to face him. "How can you help with my no date problem?" She asked warily.
Crew smirked and waggled his eyebrows at her. "Really...You think I look cute? Or Sexy?" He asked, trying to hold in his laughs. Sabrina was his favorite girl to flirt aand tease with. Her reactions were just what he was looking for. As she blushed and turned away, he leaned against the rack, running his fingers through his messy black hair. "Well, I could take you. Even though I wasn't planning on going....or I can set you up. Take your pick." He said with a shrug. He didn't mind if she wwanted to go with him or not. It wasn't like he would settle down with her afterword. But it would be fun to go with her. He could see himself having a blast.
Sabrina let out an embarrassed laugh. "Did I say cute?" She asked. "I meant horrid. They make you look horrid." She couldn't believe she had told him he looked cute. That wasn't the way she wanted things to work. She had been reaching for the dress when he offered to go with her. She closed her eyes and breathed in and out. Calm down Sabrina. He doesn't mean anything by it. He won't ever like you like you like him. Once she calmed her racing heart she turned back to him. "I'd rather go with you than with one of your annoying friends." She said nonchalantly.
Crew gave her a pouty look. "Ouch. Sabrina. That hurt. Ow. My ego." He said, grabbing his heart. When he offered to take her, he saw that pause, and heard her breath quicken. What? What was that? Crew was surprised that a simple homecoming date with him had that much effect on her. Normally, she acted like she despised him. But now that he knew what was going on in her brain, he was going to use it. "Come on Sabrina, you know you don't mean that." He muttered in her ear, placing his hands on her waist gently. He decides that he really really liked tthe feeling of her in his arms. He felt like she fit there. "You know you want to go with me." He whispered again, allowing his lips to slightly brush against her ear.
A small squeak escaped her lips when his hands landed on her waist. She closed her eyes and relished in the feel of being in his arms. "You don't know anything." She said slightly breathless. Holy hell what was he doing?! her mind screamed at her. She shivered involuntarily when his lips brushed her ear. "You know you shouldn't flirt with girls if you don't really like them." She said pushing him away and glaring at him. She couldn't let him see how he affected her so she acted like se couldn't stand him. It was her defense mechanism.
Crew smiled. He liked this, he liked her. But he didn't want to put her through an actual relationship with him. They weren't pretty. Crew was really and truely loyal, honest, and totally trustworthy. But when girls found out he had a girlfriend, they did anything and everything to make him look bad. Even throwing themselves on him. It ended up hurting him, and the people he dated. So he just stopped. "Who said I don't?" He asked, hurt that shshe shoved him like that. They were back to square one. Her hating him, and him doing pretty much nothing about it.
Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Ask any girl you've flirted with. They'll all say the same thing." She said bitterly. She finally had Crew's attention and she was pushing him away? What the hell was wrong with her. She turned and went to grab the dress again. It really was pretty. She decided that she would get it even if she decided not to go to the dance. Plus it didn't look like Crew would be taking her now. She had already messed that up. Stupid! You're so stupid Rina! her mind screamed. She couldn't help but agree.
Crew's eyes widened. He didn't flirt with that-Ok. He did. He did flirt with a lot of girls, but that was so he didn't get bored. Who can blame him right? But all he did was flirt..and he never went as far as he just did with Sabrina. He didn't know what was wrong with him, but he didn't want her to leave. "Wait! Sabrina!" He caught her wrist and pulled her to him. His thumb rubbing soft circles onto her skin. He loved the feel of it. Weird. "Don't go. I need your help. And plus, if you're still going to homecoming with me, I need to know your favorite flowers. And....I don't know where half of the things my aunt needs are. And if I don't get them, she might kill me." Crew let go of her wrist once he was sure she wouldn't leave. "Please help?" He asked, batting his dark eyelashes at her.
Sabrina stopped short when he grabbed her wrist. She glanced down and watched his thumb rub circles on it. She stopped herself from shivering, not wanting him to have anything else to use against her. "You still want to go to homecoming with me?" She asked softly. She thought she had ruin her chances. Se glanced back up and couldn't help it. She caved. "What do you need help with?" She asked stepping closer to him involuntarily.
Crew raised an eyebrow at her when she asked him why he still wanted to go with her. "Because Sabrina, I like you." He said with shrug. He did. He liked her. He liked her sweetness, gentleness, her blushes, her sarcasm and the ways she teased him like no other girl would. He was surprised when she stepped closer to.him. "I don't know where the Tampons are..." He muttered, turning a little red.
Sabrina's eyes widened and a small smiled form on her face. Crew Johnson, LAHS's ladies man, liked her? She felt butterflies build in her stomach at the thought. Her grin widened when he asked her where the tampons were. "Why Crew I didn't know you had a period too!" She teased. She felt freer now that she knew he liked her. She couldn't help but laugh at the blush that crossed his face.
Crew's blushes deepened. "You don't need to say that loud." He muttered, taking her hand. "And it's not me. It's my cousin. Her and her Boyfriend got in a huge fight, so she's staying at my aunts. And I got chosen to be the errand boy." Crew said, pushing his glasses up again. Yes, Crew liked her. But he wouldn't say he loved her or anything like that. but he could see that at some point he would. Maybe it would be this point? He didn't know.
Sabrina laughed. "Poor Crew." She teased. He was holding her hand! She till couldn't believe it but she school her expression into one of calmness even though she was shrieking on the inside. She pulled him in the direction the the tampons we stalked and looked over at him. "Did they specify on what kind?" She asked. She didn't want him to have to come back if she ended up picking something she wouldn't use.
"I know right?" But he wasn't thinking of how hard life was with his aunt. In fact..it was ten times better than how it used to be..living with his mom. They lived in poverty, Crew having to work double shifts to help pay rent. His mom working two jobs. Crew never played any sports...it was awful. But he had his mom. His mom was one of the sweetest people you would have ever met. She was always smiling, happy. Never frowning. She loved each person unconditionally, and never raised her voice. To sag Crew missed her was an understatement. None of his friends knew about his moms death. He just told them that his mom worked full time to help his aunt out, and they just moved in to make life easier for her. "Uh....I dunno." He handed her the list. "Your the women. Not me." He let go of her hand, and jammed his hands into his pockets, looking at all the care products. He was so in over his head.
Sabrina frowned when he dropped her hand but took the list anyways. She scanned it quickly but it didn't clarify. She sighed. Some people were picky about what they used and she didn't want to choose wrong but there wasn't much she could do about it. She grabbed a random brand and handed the list back to Crew. "Is that all you needed help with or was there more?" She asked. Most of the other things on the list seemed pretty easy to find so she didn't know if he wanted her sticking around.
Crew shrugged and smirked at her, placing the tampons into a random cart, and then wrapping Sabrina up in his arms. "That depends on you. Do you want to stay?" He muttered softly into her ear, his voice low and husky. He wasn't playing this girl, no way. He felt something, but it wasn't big enough to really call it love...or a crush. But it was there, and Crew knew it would.grow the more time he spent with her. He didn't doubt it for a second.
Sabrina's heart beat quickened and she couldn't form a coherent thought for a moment. "I...uh...yeah I'll stay." She finally managed. How could he have such an affect on her? She didn't get it. Normally she was able to act like he didn't affect her but now that she knew he liked her it was like all of her thoughts and actions went out the window. She couldn't deny it now. She definitely liked Crew Johnson more than she originally thought she did.
Crew smiled, but she really couldn't see that. Her back was against his chest, so there was no way she could see his face. His fingers trailed up and down her arm slowly, before resting on her waist. "You sure? I don't want to cause any trouble." He whispered again, this time letting his lips brush against her ear. The last time he restricted.himself, not knowing if she would shove him again or not. He still was a little.nervous about that. But when it came to Sabrina, what guy wasn't?
Sabrina shivered when his lips brushed her ear. "It's no trouble." She breathed. Her heart was still slamming against her chest and she was frantically trying to slow it down. Why now? Why all of a sudden did he decide that he liked her? Him and her brother had been friends for awhile now. Had he even noticed her before? She shook her head clearing her thoughts. It doesn't matter. "Unless you don't want me to stay." She whispered, hoping that wasn't the case.
Crew smirked, and turned her around so she was facing him. He placed his hands on her hips, and pulled her close, his forehead resting on hers. Thank goodness this was the girl care isle, during the time of day when it was quiet at target...no one would interrupt them. Crew smiled at her. "Of course I want you here Sabrina. Don't ever think that I don't." At this point Crew didn't know where these words were coming from...all that he knew was that they were all so true.
Sabrina slid her arms around her neck and closed her eyes letting his words wash over her. Did he really feel that way?she thought. She didn't know what to believe but for now she chose to think that his words were true. As long as he kept making her feel this way, then she would believe anything he told her.
Crew smiled and pulled her even closer as he softly pressed his lips to hers. He didn't know if it was just him...but he could have sworn he felt Sparks fly. It was almost as if he was kissing an electrical circuit. He pieces the feeling. He pulled her even closer, loving this. She was unlike any girl he'd ever met. That was for sure. And she kissed better too. The only thing that held him back was the small voice inside his head telling him not to.get attached..she'd break his heart. But the other half was craving more.
((Awwwww<3))Rina made a soft sound of surprise. She hadn't been expecting him to kiss her but she wasn't complaining. Kissing Crew was unlike anything she felt before. Was this what she had been waiting for all this time? she wondered. She had never felt this way about someone before but she knew without a doubt that she would fight to keep Crew. She didn't care what other people thought. It was her life and she was going to live it the way she wanted.
((Sooo cute!! My Crew's growing up!))
Crew slowly pushed her up against the shelves, all of his logic abandoning him. He wanted her. He wanted this. He would fight for it no matter what. He would fight for her. After a minuet more, he pulled back breathing heavily. "Sabrina, you are unlike any girl I've ever met." He muttered, pressing his fitness against hers. This would be tricky, no doubt. Dating his friends little sister? But it would be worth it. So so very worth it.

Sabrina was breathing heavily by the time he pulled away. Never again would she flirt or look at another guy. Crew was hers and nothing was going to change that. She blushed at his compliment. "And you're unlike any guy I've met." She whispered looking up into his eyes. This had not been what she planned when she came to Target. I guess what they say is true. "Expect the unexpected."
((It was supposed to be forehead not fitness....haha))
Crew ran his fingers up and down her back. Yup. He was doomed. So going to get his poor little heartbroken before it was even healed from his mothers death. "Thanks." He whispered pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. "Can't wait to homecoming." He said softly, smiling. He would never look at another girl. And that was saying something. A lot of somethings.

((I figured XD))Sabrina closed her eyes relishing in his closeness. "I can't wait either." Then her thoughts finally cleared enough to remember where they were standing. She pushed him back slightly, but not enough for him to get far, and looked around. She sighed. No one was there. "If you want to get all your shopping done then we'd better get started." She said, a little embarrassed by her mini freak out.
Crew smirked and ran his fingers through his hair, pulling out the list. "Ok. First item. Milk. I'm not sure where it is." He joked, taking is cart and pushing it down the Isles. "Come on Babe!" He shouted, pushing his glasses up. He loved this, being crazy in grocery stores. It was his hobby. Embarrassing the people around him, while making himself laugh.
Sabrina rolled her eyes but smiled anyways. This is what she had always wanted with Crew. She followed closely behind his, still clutching her dress. "If you're serious about not knowing where the milk is I may have to hurt you." She joked. She wondered if he had lied about not knowing where the tampons were to get her to help him. Not that she was complaining.
Crew froze, almost as if he was bracing for impact. "Nah Just kidding. I know where the milk is. I wasn't kidding about Tampons though." He put the milk and her dress in the cart. "Cant have mi'lady tiring herself out. No no." Crew was having fun, and that was what he lived for. Fun. He could be shoveling dog poop for a job, but if he was with people whwho made it fun, he would happily do it for the rest of his life. "Beef Jerky!" He yelled, grabbing the Beef Jerky and setting it in the cart. "Sabrina? Where's the propel zero?" He asked, looking at the list.
Sabrina laughed and let him take her dress from her. She still needed to finish her own shopping but she wasn't willing to give up the time she was spending with Crew. She felt her phone buzz in her pocket and checked it quickly. It was Travis. He wanted to make sure she was okay. Yeah I'm fine. Shopping. She didn't tell him he was with Crew. That was a can of worms she didn't want to open. She stuffed her phone back in her pocket. "You really don't know your way around this stir do you?" She asked leading him to the carbonated drink aisle.
Crew whistled as he looked up and down the 'manly' aisle. The one with beef jerky, mountian dew, Gatorade, powerade...manly stuff. Not this chocolate, tampons and propel crap. Crew grabbed six gatorades, three bags of pretzels, and two powerades. Who cared how much he grabbed? He wasn't the one paying for it. Plus, he had a game tomorrow. "Nope! I spend my time making myself attractive for ladies like you. Not shopping." Crew grinned and followed, whistling a tune as he went. It was one his mom sang a lot. But Crew had the worst singing voice ever, so he whistled.

Sabrina rolled her eyes. "Of course I should have known." She said. She didn't really want to be reminded of all the girls Crew has flirted with and made feel special but she had to accept that it was in his past. "What's next on the list?" She asked trying to reach for it. If he just gave it to her then they would get it done faster and she would have more time to shop for her homecoming stuff. Now that she knew for sure she was going, she definitely needed to find accessories.
Crew looked down, feeling slightly ashamed of himself. Yes, he was a flirt. A bad one, and he wasn't afraid to admit it. But when Sabrina said that...it just made him feel like an awful person. When she tried to grab the list, he held it away from her. "Uh uh uh. I am the list reader." He smirked and kissed the top of her head. "There's no rush here. Just spending time with my Sabrina." He whispered, before straightening and looking at the list. "Chocolate kisses, chips, milk, cake mix,. and cookies. Wow. That's a lot of chocolate." Crew said, staring at the long list of crap his cousin and aunt wanted. They were crazy.
Sabrina grinned when he called her "his Sabrina". It felt different now. For the past two years she had been pinning over Crew noticing her and now that he had she didn't know how to act. She wanted to revert to her old self-glaring and being sarcastic at everything he said- but knew that wasn't how she really felt. She giggled when he sounded so surprised at the amount of chocolate. "Well if your cousin is having a hard time, of course she's going to want chocolate." She said walking down the aisles. "It actually does help." She said mostly to herself.
Crew watched her try to respond to him giving her attention. He'd always been nice to her, but no matter what he did, she always acted like he was the worst person she'd ever met. And when he saw her little mini freak out in the dress aisle, and the way she kissed him, it made him wonder how long she'd been waiting. "How long did you like me?" He asked, watching her inttently as he followed her up and down the aisles. "And I don't see chocolate helping much." He admitted, smiling.
Sabrina looked away and started browsing the shelves. She shrugged noncommittedly. "Not that long." Of you count two years as not long is what she didn't say. She didn't want crew to think that she was pathetic by liking him for so long. She picked up the chocolate kisses and mini chocolate chips, still not meeting his eyes. She should have known that he would ask that question.
Crew tried to meet Sabrina's gaze. "Come on Sabrina. You can't think I'm convinced by that. Let's here it." He said once she finally looked him in the eyes. He pushed up his glasses again, and stared at her...waiting. People have told him that his state makes people insecure, that he's searching their soul. And in this case, he was searching hers, needing to know how long she liked him, and how long he was oblivious. Because he knew he was going to feel dumb after today. Dumb that he didn't notice her.
Sabrina was caught in his stare and couldn't seem to look away. "Two years." She whispered. Ever since that day Travis brought him to the house Sabrina couldn't stop thinking about Crew. The next day she joined the cheer squad just because he played football. It was pathetic she knew but it didn't matter. Even if he had never noticed her she would have been content to at least be around him somewhat. Now though she didn't know how she would go back to the way things were if he decided he didn't like her anymore.
Crew let out a low whistle. "Two years? Wow....I've only lived here two years." He muttered, smiling at her. "I'm glad you didn't give up Sabrina." He said with a grin. He ruffled her hair and walked down the aisle grabbing some other stuff that was on the list. He whistled as he went, a smile on his face. He was glad Sabrina didn't give up hope. Because if she did, she wouldn't be his right now..that's for sure.
Sabrina wrinkled her nose and fixed her hair. "That's all you're going to say? I tell you I've been practically drooling over you for two years and all you say is that's how long you've lived here?" She didn't know why she was so upset by his reaction but she was. She didn't know why she expected more from him. He was the same with everyone. She started grabbing her own snacks so she wouldn't have to meet his eyes.
